Blue Country
The construction of the base went very smoothly. Bai Mo used Magnetic Field Power to hollow out a mountain, creating a spacious interior. Under atomic control, all kinds of tools were readily available, and even a bathhouse was built at Ritsuka's strong request.
Bai Mo and Ritsuka exchanged a glance, and then Ritsuka led Reines down to negotiate with the villagers, leaving Bai Mo and Xu Fu to handle the situation.
Sima Yi didn't say much about it. It was understandable that Xu Fu wanted to escape after learning about the situation. After all, she had a special identity. If she were caught by Qin's soldiers, it would be like Jews entering a concentration camp or black men entering a plantation.
"Alright, I'll get to work now, boss. What are the work targets?"
Seemingly because of what had just happened, Xu Fu was surprisingly energetic, but Bai Mo seemed unhurried and gestured for her to sit down. The girl brought over a small stool and sat down next to Bai Mo. After drinking a cup of tea, Bai Mo smiled and asked:
"I'm more curious about why you suddenly changed your tune than about work?"
Xu Fu's hand trembled. Bai Mo's smile seemed to pierce through her heart. After all, she had just been saying "I must live," but suddenly changed her mind, which was really strange. What's more, there was Ritsuka and Reines outside, and Sherlock Holmes, the detective, in Chaldea.
It's impossible not to be suspected.
Xu Fu's gaze involuntarily shifted, and he sheepishly offered his explanation:
"Well... since the Qin Shi Huang is dead, I don't need to be so terrified."
"That was information I gave them on the way here."
"Um... it's the Counter Force. You see, the Counter Force directly provides information and such."
"But didn't you say before that the Counter Force hadn't given you any information?"
Realizing his lies were riddled with holes, Xu Fu, in a fit of despair, lay down on the ground, flailing his limbs like a child, and said in a somewhat frantic manner:
"Wow, well, I'm willing to work for you, that's all that matters. I won't lie to you. Can't I even have a little secret? You heartless Master, you bad guy!"
Bai Mo's lips twitched as he watched this guy's shameless behavior, inwardly wondering, "How did he manage to swindle such a large investment from Qin First Emperor?"
"Fine, if you don't want to talk about it, then don't."
"Huh? Really?"
Bai Mo nodded. He had always viewed Servant as unfortunate laborers held hostage by the Alaya Consciousness, who were also occasionally dangled by a Holy Grail and forced to become familiars to Magecraft.
Therefore, as long as they are not extremely vicious, Bai Mo is quite lenient towards them. As for mind reading with magnetic fields, Bai Mo disdains to use that method.
"It's normal for everyone to have some secrets, and I don't consider myself a particularly charismatic person who can be trusted at first glance. But I must remind you, I'm not here for tourism."
If you cause trouble because you're unwilling to communicate, don't blame me.
After saying this, Bai Mo got up to greet Ritsuka and the other person who had just returned. Xu Fu got up from the ground somewhat awkwardly, dusted himself off, and looked at Bai Mo talking with Ritsuka. His evaluation of this Master improved a bit.
"Phew, he's actually a good person. I thought he was going to use Command Spell right away. But I really need to find out about Lady Yu's situation first. If he's not an enemy, I can help him without worry."
As Xu Fu pondered this, he returned to his Magecraft workshop. He needed to craft a few puppet familiars, which would come in handy whether he was helping or searching for Lady Yu.
Ritsuka slowly delivered the information below. Just as predicted, the people here basically lived a self-sufficient small-scale farming economy, and their basic material needs were met.
But this is only a part. The entire Great Qin territory is divided in two by a river called Hong Canal. The place where Bai Mo and others are located is the Qin once ruled by the Qin Shi Huang.
On the other side lies the kingdom ruled by the Lan Clan.
"Most farmers don't know about it. I only heard it from a village head. That place is called: Blue Country."
In the void, even the former king of the Blue Country couldn't help but sigh, "What kind of destiny is this? The Blue Dream Company eventually developed into the Blue Country. It was before, and it remains so now."
"However, most people only know the name 'Blue Country,' and they know nothing about the world on the other side of that Hong Canal. They've heard it's full of rebels who come to harass the people of Qin from time to time."
"But judging from the village head's eyes, he seems to yearn for that place."
Reines added that just as Bai Mo was about to set off to infiltrate the Blue Country, a sonic boom came from the distant sky, like a meteor falling to Daichi. Bai Mo's eyes focused, and there was a burning hull, about half the size of a shipping container.
Bai Mo gave a thumbs-up to the thing that was charging straight at him. The next moment, an invisible Vacuum Sword Blade shot out and intercepted the thing, splitting it in two.
With a deafening roar, the capsule crashed to the ground, transforming from a falling meteor into a crash site.
Hinako Akuta felt that she had been incredibly unlucky ever since Chaldea. She had just wanted to find a quiet place to live a peaceful life, but the Spiritron Transfer pod exploded.
So be it, I'm an elf, I can't die anyway. But just as I was about to resurrect, that damned Wodime sold me out and sent me to the Lostbelt of Great Qin.
She initially thought this was good news, at least she could see her beloved again. But as soon as she landed, that damned Qin Shi Huang Ying Zheng was still alive. He arrested her on the spot and used all sorts of methods, including magnetic field mind reading, Magecraft, and soul searching, to strip her bare.
Then he was threatened and forced to deal with a bunch of messy issues from this divided empire.
Now that she's finally able to get out and stretch her muscles, seeing that powerless, half-dead junior, the inhuman Senpai Akuta was thinking of giving her a taste of her own medicine, ready to strike her right in the face.
And then, the plane suddenly crashed!
