Remnants of the Past
Upon reaching the clock tower, they were met with a thick fog. Ritsuka and the others only felt a gust of wind, and the next moment, Melusine raised her knife and ripped the fog into pieces.
"Ritsuka?"
A faint, ethereal voice came from ahead. Ritsuka recognized it as Bai Mo's call, but when the mist cleared, Bai Mo and Morgan, who were walking at the forefront, had disappeared.
"Brother Bai? Doctor, are your tests coming back positive? Brother Bai just disappeared right in front of me."
Despite the sudden change, Ritsuka remained calm, which is when Chaldea's real-time monitoring capabilities came into play.
"The detection showed no problems. Normally, they should be right in front of you. I'm not sure, it might be some kind of alternate dimension, but... an alternate dimension that Bai Mo and Morgan couldn't detect?"
Even Dr. Roman himself didn't quite believe what he was saying. In his view, the Britain team was flawless. They had Bai Mo in terms of Magnetic Field Power, Morgan in Servant of Magecraft, and Ritsuka in terms of Heroic Spirit and local negotiations.
But as they traveled, they gradually realized that something was very wrong with this Fairy Britain. Although it wasn't like the Lostbelt powerful magnetic field beings randomly appeared, everything about it was strange.
"If this is another dimension, Ritsuka, you shouldn't go any further. If you get trapped inside and there's a battle going on there, it will be dangerous."
What happens when you get too close to a battle between powerful magnetic field users? The reckless spectators in the previous Lostbelt have already shown us the answer with their lives.
"Miss Melusine, could you please keep an eye on our surroundings?"
"That's only right. I'll protect you until Bai Mo returns, but don't wander off... Someone's approaching, you'd better prepare for battle."
Upon hearing Melusine's words, Baobhan Sith and the others disregarded the situation of the two and immediately prepared for battle.
Meanwhile, Bai Mo and Morgan stepped into a fog. In an instant, they could no longer see each other. Bai Mo tried to sense Morgan's presence, but Morgan had already vanished without a trace.
"Seriously, they always do this kind of thing."
Bai Mo pursed his lips and continued walking forward. Soon, a figure appeared in front of Bai Mo. It was a knight wearing armor. Although it was still an afterimage, it did not have any fairy characteristics in appearance.
"A remnant of humanity? Guarding this place, were you also one of the knights who protected Morgan back then?"
Bai Mo asked, but upon hearing the name Morgan, the knight slowly drew his sword. Then, he opened his non-existent mouth.
Please give up... I beg you!
This scene is rather strange. If it's to protect what's behind him, why use such a tone? If it's to ask the person in front of him to leave, why draw his sword?
"Are you prepared to turn your sword against me with such resolve?"
Bai Mo said coldly. He did not draw his Beginning and End, Shi Mo. In his eyes, this guy didn't even have the will to fight, and he wasn't worth using his most cherished sword.
He lifted his foot and took a step forward; this action was his response to the figure before him.
Clang! Clang! Clang! The human knight's sword flashed with light for a moment, slashing down at Bai Mo with immense force. However, Bai Mo easily caught this powerful attack with two fingers.
With a muffled thud, the Heart-Breaking Way- Severing Strike slammed into the opponent's chest. The afterimage armor remained intact, but a tearing sound came from within.
With a clang, the sword slipped from his hand and fell to the ground, its afterimage leaving him kneeling as if his chest had been pierced.
"Please... please don't go any further... please don't continue..."
Bai Mo looked at the figure, slowly raised his hand, preparing to release the afterimage, but then the afterimage whispered, "Please give up, Teacher Chen."
The hand that Decapitation Way stopped in mid-air. Bai Mo frowned slightly, then snapped his fingers lightly.
"Wake up!"
The power of the Underworld has a tremendous commanding effect on human souls. Then, the afterimage in front of him twitched for a moment, then seemed to regain some clarity.
Who are you?
Bai Mo asked, and the afterimage raised its head, a hint of doubt seemingly appearing in its dark, empty eyes, but under the absolute suppression of the Underworld, it had no choice but to answer the question.
"I am Uther, a knight of Londinium, and a disciple of the savior Ash. I am here only to stop... my master's path."
"As a disciple of Ash, you're going to block her path? You're really strange. Logically speaking, even if a disciple doesn't help their master, they shouldn't stop her."
Bai Mo said coldly, and as he finished speaking, the surrounding scenery changed abruptly, resembling an old television screen.
The remnant soul, claiming to Uther, reached out his hand and said to Bai Mo:
"Let me tell you the story; it's about the savior."
I don't know where she came from, I only know that she is the savior of Britain. Britain a calamity every hundred years and a great calamity every thousand years, there is also friction between fairies, and even more so, the unexpected birth of strange beings with extraordinary powers.
If there are gods in this world, they must despise Britain.
And so, a country that should have been destroyed long ago was saved by her time and time again, no matter how many times.
And I was supposed to be the new king who resolved the fairy conflict and brought peace to Britain...
The scene flashes with Ash's past, which is also Morgan's past—a past Morgan has never told about and is unwilling to mention. It was a peaceful time, a new king was about to be crowned, Uther was about to marry Medb, Queen of the North, bringing peace to Britain.
With a clatter, a glass of scarlet wine fell to the ground.
During the coronation ceremony, a certain fairy, disapproving of Uther's glory, served him a cup of poisoned wine. Thus, peace was shattered, and humanity once again became slaves to the fairies.
Upon seeing this, Bai Mo frowned. It was hard not to feel anger as he witnessed humanity's chance for hope being dashed by such a tragedy.
After Uther's death, Ash bids farewell to her companions one by one. Here, she bids farewell to her last companions, Galahad and Habetrot, the first Fairy Knight Galahad.
"How pathetic I am! Only now do I understand what my master has to bear. Every time she saves the world, the demons despise her and even hunt her down."
Hanging, waterboarding... she experienced almost every method except poison!
And so, she would continue to live in this world, hated by all the fairies, for the sake of Britain. Enough! No punishment could be more severe than this!
If things continue like this, only greater betrayal and a more tragic death await her in the future!
I must stop her, I can't let her continue like this, even if it means killing her completely, I don't want her to continue bearing the responsibility of being the savior!
Uther reached out his hand to Bai Mo, his empty eyes filled with pleading and fervor.
"Please, help me! Kill her! You can go with her, and see if the reward she receives is worth the sacrifice. Please, just let her rest in this homeland, alongside the former Rain Clan."
