Red Mountain Academy,
Xu Qing walked into the classroom, swept his gaze around, then went straight to the corner where he had sat yesterday.
Not long after he sat down, Tang Wulin noticed him and hurried over, his face full of curiosity.
"Xu Qing, who exactly was that silver-haired little girl yesterday?"
Xu Qing raised his eyes to glance at him and replied listlessly, "Oh~ Her name is Gu Yuena. She might have gotten separated from her family."
"Is that so? Is she all right?" Tang Wulin asked worriedly.
"Don't worry! Since we haven't found her family yet, Mom and Dad are letting her stay at our house."
Tang Wulin nodded.
For some reason, he kept feeling that there was something about the girl named Gu Yuena that drew him to her.
After that, Xu Qing said nothing more. Looking languid and bleary, he slumped over his desk. Staying up late last night to explore the apocalyptic Earth had already left him mentally exhausted, and all he wanted now was to sit quietly.
Seeing him like this, Tang Wulin stopped asking questions and silently returned to his seat.
Since class had yet to begin, the classroom was lively. Their classmates laughed and roughhoused in little groups, discussing Martial Souls and Soul Power cultivation.
In his heart, however, Xu Qing was silently reviewing everything he had discovered on Parallel Earth yesterday.
For now, the town was not too dangerous. As long as he was a little careful, he could still handle it.
But there were still quite a few problems with trying to make use of Parallel Earth at present. Xu Qing could only set those thoughts aside for now and plan to make further arrangements after breaking through to become a One-Ring Soul Master.
But how could I speed up my breakthrough to one ring?
Countless thoughts raced through his mind. Suddenly, Xu Qing's eyes lit up.
The backyard!
Although I can't do anything with Parallel Earth for now, I can first build a Mimicry Training Ground in my own yard.
At this thought, Xu Qing nodded to himself, a plan already taking shape in his mind.
In the blink of an eye,
The day's classes came to an end with the ringing of the dismissal bell.
After saying goodbye to Tang Wulin, he hurried home.
When he got home, Xu Qing pushed open the door and entered, only to see Gu Yuena sitting quietly in the living room, watching soul-guided television.
So cute~
Gu Yuena was wearing a brand-new white dress, and the sight nearly melted Xu Qing.
Tang Xue was busy washing vegetables in the kitchen.
Hearing the noise, Tang Xue poked her head out of the kitchen and smiled gently. "You're home, Xiao Qing?"
"Yes, Mom, I'm home."
Xu Qing answered, walked to the kitchen doorway, and asked, "By the way, Mom, can I ask you for a favor?"
"What is it?"
"Could I make some changes to our backyard?"
Tang Xue stopped what she was doing, a little curious. "Changes? What do you want to do?"
"I discovered that my Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul cultivates faster in an environment thick with Blue Silver Grass," Xu Qing explained earnestly. "So I want to plant Blue Silver Grass throughout the empty space in the backyard to help with my cultivation."
After hearing him out, Tang Xue immediately nodded and agreed without the slightest hesitation. "Of course. Do whatever you like. The backyard is just sitting empty anyway. But there's one thing: don't damage the flowers Mom planted."
With his mother's permission, Xu Qing felt relieved.
"Don't worry! I'll be careful~"
Just then, Gu Yuena, who had heard their conversation from nearby, walked over from the sofa, looked at Xu Qing, and asked, "What are you going to do?"
Xu Qing lifted the small shovel he had just taken from the storeroom and replied casually, "I'm planning to fill the backyard with Blue Silver Grass to help with cultivation."
Gu Yuena blinked her clear purple eyes and asked softly, "Do you need my help?"
Xu Qing hurriedly shook his head. How could he dare ask this big shot to dig up soil and plant grass for him? He quickly waved his hand in refusal. "No, no, I can do it myself. I won't trouble you."
Seeing him insist, Gu Yuena could only nod. "All right."
Xu Qing said no more. Slinging a burlap sack onto his back and taking his small shovel, he turned and dashed out of the house.
Before long, Xu Qing arrived at the bank of a small river outside Aolai City.
Wild Blue Silver Grass grew in patches along the riverbank. The whole area brimmed with greenery, its pale blue blades swaying gently in the wind, growing in great abundance.
At the sight, Xu Qing wasted no more time. He rolled up his sleeves, bent down, and began digging.
His movements were quick and practiced. One plant after another was dug out with its root system intact, then neatly tied into bundles.
In just a short while, he had gathered a large amount of Blue Silver Grass. Afterward, he dragged a full bundle back to his yard.
After several trips back and forth, a pile of Blue Silver Grass had accumulated at the entrance to the yard.
Time to start!
Let's do this!
Next, Xu Qing picked up his small shovel and began his work, planting the Blue Silver Grass one stalk at a time.
Since Xu Qing was working alone, he was not particularly fast.
Gu Yuena watched Xu Qing work, thought for a moment, then joined in.
Xu Qing had wanted to refuse, but under Gu Yuena's feigned angry gaze, he eventually agreed to let her help.
Time passed little by little, and soon, the entire empty backyard was completely carpeted with dense, lush Blue Silver Grass.
The last rays of the setting sun passed over the courtyard wall and scattered across the backyard like flecks of gold, tinting the pale blue blades of the Blue Silver Grass a warm orange.
A breeze swept through, and countless blades of Blue Silver Grass swayed gently with a rustling sound.
Of course, since the Blue Silver Grass had only just been planted, Xu Qing deliberately got some of the fertilizer Tang Xue used for her flowers and watered it as well.
Xu Qing had also deliberately left a clean, empty patch in the very center of the Blue Silver Grass, laying down a flat stone slab specifically for meditation and cultivation.
Xu Qing looked at his... and Gu Yuena's handiwork and nodded in satisfaction.
I just don't know whether the Blue Silver Grass will survive.
But with its nature of surviving wildfire and springing back to life with the spring breeze, it shouldn't be a problem.
Now all I need to do is wait for it to grow on its own.
Gu Yuena stood quietly to one side, her purple eyes gazing over the ground covered in Blue Silver Grass. She, too, could not help feeling a sense of satisfaction.
"Thanks for your hard work, Nana." Xu Qing turned toward the girl with a smile. "Without your help, who knows how long I would have had to work on my own before finishing all the planting."
Gu Yuena tilted her head slightly, a lock of snowy-white hair slipping onto her shoulder. Her voice was gentle, with a soft sweetness to it. "It was no trouble."
"Oh, right, Nana, I have something for you."
As soon as he said that, Xu Qing turned and pattered toward the house, darting into his room. He pulled open the main drawer of his desk, took something out, held it in his arms, and hurried back to the backyard.
Gu Yuena stood where she was, her purple eyes blinking slightly as she watched Xu Qing run back with curiosity, unable to guess what he intended to bring out.
Only when Xu Qing ran up to her did Gu Yuena see that he was holding an exquisitely crafted metal box in his arms.
There was also a little dancing girl on the box.
Any transmigrator would surely have recognized it.
A music box.
He had found it in a gift shop and brought it back afterward.
