Arrival in Aolai City

Gu Yuena had been ambushed during her transformation and appeared in Aolai City under circumstances she considered suspicious. By her first encounter with Xu Qing, she had recovered memories lost during an earlier period of wandering with amnesia 9.

After defeating a group of street punks, she sensed the Golden Dragon King’s presence inside Tang Wulin. She briefly considered killing him to seize its origin, but an instinctive warning of danger stopped her. Xu Qing attracted her attention more strongly: his concentrated power of destiny exceeded even that of the Auspicious Beast from ten thousand years earlier 9 11.

She followed Xu Qing despite his attempts to leave, determined to investigate his destiny power. He agreed to house her temporarily on the condition that she would not harm his parents 9.

Life with Xu Qing’s Family

Tang Xue found no identity records for Gu Yuena and registered a new identity for her. She and Xu Yan allowed Gu Yuena to stay, giving her a bedroom and treating her as part of the household 10 11.

Gu Yuena helped Xu Qing plant a backyard cultivation ground of Blue Silver Grass. He thanked her with a music box, which she treasured. Watching his cultivation confirmed her belief that his power of destiny had not yet fully awakened 14 15.

Her Elementalist awakening attracted interest from the Federation and Spirit Pagoda. She joined the Spirit Pagoda but insisted on remaining at Red Mountain Academy rather than transferring immediately to Eastsea City. Reunion with Di Tian

She also described Xu Qing to them as an Auspicious Beast who had somehow become human. Although her followers wanted to meet him and take her away, she chose to remain with Xu Qing 30 33.

Gold of Life and Xu Qing’s Disappearance

Gu Yuena gave Xu Qing a large piece of gold of life to nourish his body during cultivation. She did not know how to absorb it directly and asked him to notify her before attempting it 33.

When Xu Qing disappeared while his bloodline acted on the crystal, she searched his room through spatial movement but found no trace of his destination. To reassure his parents, she claimed that he was secluded while refining a medicinal pill from her family 34.

Xu Qing returned after a month had passed in Aolai City. He disclosed that he possessed a special internal space and demonstrated that the gold of life remained inside him. Gu Yuena forgave him but demanded that he never disappear without warning again 36.

Eastsea Academy

Gu Yuena entered Eastsea Academy alongside Xu Qing and was assigned to First-Year Class One. Her rank-25 cultivation astonished the registration staff, and she subsequently demonstrated her combat superiority by defeating Wang Jinxi and Wei Xiaofeng 42 54 55.

During an outing, the pair were attacked by mechas and then confronted by an Evil Soul Master. Gu Yuena supported Xu Qing with ice attacks, helped wound their opponent, and carried Xu Qing back to the academy after he collapsed. She remained beside his infirmary bed overnight 61 62 63 64 65.

Both received ten million Federation coins in compensation. Gu Yuena kept Xu Qing’s battle against the Evil Soul Master quiet. The academy later excluded her from the Class Promotion Tournament because her cultivation would undermine its competitive purpose, while placing her on a guaranteed admission list 66.

She investigates before acting, suppressing her desire to seize Tang Wulin’s origin when she senses danger. She also conceals her true form and initially presents herself to Xu Qing’s parents as a lost child 9 10 16 30.

With Xu Qing and his family, she becomes gentler and more playful. She helps with planting and household tasks, teases Xu Qing into begging her to keep his saber secret, and openly enjoys their outings. Her affection is accompanied by protectiveness: she defends him against classmates’ insults and becomes angry when his unexplained absences leave her worried 14 21 28 36 49.

She develops a strong enthusiasm for human food, particularly snacks, grilled squid, barbecue, and pot-braised beef. Her enormous appetite surprises both her host family and restaurant staff 11 27 36 50.
