History

Transmigration and awakening

Xu Qing is born into an ordinary family in Aolai City. His mother, Tang Xue, possesses Blue Silver Grass, while his father, Federation clerk Xu Yan, possesses a Black Snake Martial Soul. Neither parent has innate Soul Power. Recognizing Tang Wulin after his own awakening, Xu Qing realizes that he has transmigrated into the era of The Legend of the Dragon King 1 3.

His awakening produces golden scales and drains the attending Spirit Transmitter’s Soul Power, yet testing identifies only Blue Silver Grass and rank-three innate Soul Power. He subsequently discovers a Five-Clawed Golden Dragon tattoo on his back and access to a ruined parallel Earth through his Sea of Consciousness 2 3 5.

Building a cultivation foundation

Xu Qing initially flees Parallel Earth after encountering a zombie horde. He later returns to investigate its resources, hoping to overcome his slow cultivation. On Douluo Continent, he establishes a backyard Mimicry Training Ground; on Parallel Earth, he gathers supplies and converts a house into a rudimentary steel fortress 5 10 11 14 15.

Gu Yuena enters his life after sensing an unusually concentrated Power of Destiny around him. He agrees to let her stay at his home on the condition that she not harm his parents, and his family subsequently registers an identity for her. Their shared cultivation benefits both Xu Qing’s surrounding grass and Gu Yuena’s bloodline 9 10 20.

After learning to absorb zombie crystal cores safely, Xu Qing develops a routine of school, forging lessons, meditation, and nighttime zombie hunts. He trains basic saber movements through repetition rather than relying on a formal saber technique. By eight years old, he can efficiently restrain and kill ordinary zombies 20 21 22.

Gold of Life transformation

Gu Yuena gives Xu Qing a large piece of Gold of Life and asks him not to attempt absorption without her. He nevertheless takes it to his fortress, where his bloodline devours it and triggers an uncontrolled transformation. The cocoon absorbs additional crystal-core energy, while the fortress is left devastated 33 34 35.

Xu Qing spends two months on Parallel Earth, while Gu Yuena confronts him over an absence of roughly one month on Douluo Continent. She conceals his disappearance from his parents with a story about refining a medicinal pill. After relocating his usable supplies to a new shelter, he returns with golden hair and eyes, an awakened bloodline, and an evolved Martial Soul 35 36.

Eastsea Academy

Xu Qing travels to Eastsea City with Gu Yuena and enters Eastsea Academy’s Class One. He supports Tang Wulin during an investigation into a dormitory fight and passes the Blacksmith Association’s first- and second-rank assessments with him. His rank-twenty-three cultivation surprises classmates who regard Blue Silver Grass as a weak Martial Soul 41 43 46 49.

During a gang attack, Xu Qing and Gu Yuena destroy five mechas. Following his recovery, Ye Yingluo delivers ten million Federation coins in compensation to each of them and reports Guang Long’s life imprisonment. Xu Qing conceals his killing aura and his fight against an Evil Soul Master 62 65 66.

In the Class Promotion Tournament, he rescues Wang Jinxi, eliminates Zhou Changxi, and defeats Tang Wulin by draining and restraining him with Blue Silver Grass. Class One retains its position. During the subsequent break, Xu Qing acquires new attributes from tier-three cores and explores a giant-ant colony on Parallel Earth; he later undergoes testing with Class Zero 70 72 73 75 78.

Appearance

Xu Qing initially has fair skin, short black hair, large eyes, and delicate features compared to a porcelain doll 1.

  • Golden hair and eyes: Both change color after absorbing the Gold of Life 35.
  • Five-Clawed Golden Dragon tattoo: A smooth, scarless design across his back, resembling golden threads embedded in the skin. Its dragon has antlers, long whiskers, eagle claws, and tiger paws 3.
  • Physique: The transformation leaves him with firm, evenly proportioned muscles and no excess fat 35.
  • Bearing: After his bloodline awakening, his movements acquire a noticeable air of confidence and nobility 40 42.
  • Battle armor form: Golden scales cover his body, dragon horns extend from his forehead, and a long tail appears with golden flames at its tip 53.

Personality

Xu Qing’s previous-life memories give him a more mature outlook than his classmates. He disregards ridicule of his Martial Soul and approaches cultivation pragmatically, seeking alternative resources rather than accepting his low innate talent as a permanent limit. Although initially reluctant to approach Tang Wulin, he responds positively to the boy’s friendliness and becomes his friend 6 7 8 11.

He is protective of his family and cautious about exposing his secrets. His concern for his parents contributes to his rejection of becoming an Evil Soul Master, and their safety is his first condition for sheltering Gu Yuena. However, his curiosity can override caution, most notably when he investigates the Gold of Life without her supervision 6 9 33.

Repeated hunting makes his combat movements precise and decisive, and produces an intimidating killing aura. This does not erase his compassion: he cannot bring himself to attack a little girl zombie trapped in a shopping cart 22 38 50.

He favors developing Blue Silver Grass along the path of life rather than relying entirely on dragon bloodline power. He considers abilities such as parasitism and devouring tools whose morality depends on their user, not inherently evil powers 23.

Abilities & Skills

Blue Silver Grass / Blue Silver King

His Martial Soul develops from ordinary pale-blue grass into a vigorous, gold-striped form approaching the Blue Silver Emperor in quality 2 36 37.

  • Entanglement: Restrains enemies with vines; after sustained growth, ordinary zombies cannot immediately break free 22.
  • Weapon construction: Forms a spear capable of clashing with Tang Wulin’s Golden Dragon Claw 70.
  • Defense: Weaves flexible vine barriers strong enough to stop Ye Xuan’s bronze cauldron 54.
  • Grass communication: Perceives emotions and fragmented thoughts from nearby Blue Silver Grass, which recognizes him as “King” 37.
  • Limitation: He lacks the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. Developing a Blue Silver Domain remains an idea rather than an achieved ability 36 37.

Blue Silver Spores and Spore Demon Puppet

His first Soul Skill produces parasitic spores that consume a host’s Soul Power, Qi, and blood, allowing Xu Qing to recover power through them 26.

  • Spores disperse through the air and cause Blue Silver Grass to grow from corpses, the ground, and infected bodies 29 30.
  • Coating his saber with spores allows wounds to become entry points for rapid parasitic growth, immobilizing and killing zombies 29 30.
  • His later Spore Demon Puppet application establishes a mental connection with an infected zombie. He can inhabit its senses and body or return to his own body while controlling it remotely 38.
  • He maintains four controlled zombies as laborers and uses them to spread spores near his lakeside base 40 41.
  • A puppet retains its own physical limitations: an ordinary zombie cannot lift his heavy chopping blade 38.

Blue Silver Blessing

His second Soul Skill converts Blue Silver Grass’s life energy into a healing beam 37.

  • Treats injuries through concentrated life energy 37.
  • According to the skill’s information, sufficient Soul Power could allow it to regrow severed limbs; this is not demonstrated in the provided events 37.

Five-Clawed Golden Dragon Bloodline

Prepared by Parallel Earth’s consciousness, the bloodline continually reshapes Xu Qing’s body and enables him to process the parallel world’s violent energy 15 20.

  • Dragon transformation: Changes his hand into a powerful dragon claw 20 73.
  • Crystal-core purification: Converts core energy into increases in blood vitality, Soul Power, and Spiritual Power 20.
  • Infection resistance: Prevents zombie scratches from turning him into a zombie 22.
  • Enhanced durability and recovery: His skin resists a dagger until additional force is applied, and shallow wounds heal rapidly 31 32 72.
  • Dragon Eyes: Detects surrounding energy fluctuations and allows him to perceive the essence of things 37.
  • Water Element Control: Grants exceptionally high affinity with and control over surrounding water 37.
  • Flight: Limited to short periods at low altitude at his current cultivation 37.

Blood-Essence Soul Skills

These abilities belong to his Golden Soul Ring rather than his Blue Silver Grass Soul Rings 37 72.

Skill Effect Cost / Limitation
Golden Dragon Battle Armor Creates dragon-shaped armor and grants a 100% increase to all attributes 37 53. Consumes Bloodline Power 37.
Boiling Blood Ignites his blood essence to double combat strength 72. Consumes a large quantity of blood essence and leaves him extremely weak afterward 72.

Space and Wind Attributes

Xu Qing gains elemental attributes by directing energy from tier-three crystal cores into his Martial Soul 72.

  • Space: Adds silver markings and greatly increases the cutting and piercing power of leaves and vines 72 73.
  • Wind: Adds cyan markings and allows him to sense the wind element 72.
  • Limits: Both attributes are initially weak, resembling newly planted seeds. He cannot freely control space as he does water, and no independent spatial teleportation technique is demonstrated from this mutation 72.

Parallel Earth Travel and Cultivation

Xu Qing accesses Parallel Earth through a barrier in his Sea of Consciousness, using Spiritual Power to enter and the thought of leaving to return 5.

  • Emergency escape: Returns to Douluo Continent immediately before a powerful mutated zombie strikes him 18.
  • Mimicry cultivation: Cultivating among Blue Silver Grass improves his cultivation speed and affinity with Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi 15.
  • Life-force exchange: His golden light nourishes surrounding grass, which feeds vitality back into his body 15 28.
  • Propagation: Grass divided from his Martial Soul survives Parallel Earth’s violent energy and purifies the surrounding air; ordinary transplanted Blue Silver Grass cannot survive there 16.
  • Early limitation: Producing large quantities of grass is difficult with his initially limited Soul Power 16.

Forging and Combat Training

Xu Qing studies forging under Mang Tian and practices saber fundamentals through repeated zombie hunts 21 22.

  • Hundred Refinement: Fully proficient before beginning Thousand Refinement training 28.
  • Thousand Refinement: Successfully refines Heavy Silver and uses it to make blood-sacrificed forging hammers 31 40.
  • Penetration: His hammers distribute each strike’s force through a metal’s interior, improving forging success and quality 40.
  • Spiritual perception in battle: Locates the teleporting Space Mantis by closing his eyes and spreading his Spiritual Power 53.
  • Killing aura: Years of combat produce an intimidating presence capable of terrifying street thugs 50.

Recorded Measurements

Measurement Result Context
Physical striking strength 650 kilograms 28 Measured with a forging test that subtracts the hammer’s contribution.
Strength increase after awakening Approximately doubled 40 Attributed to his bloodline’s first awakening.
Spiritual Power 275 points 78 Class Zero test; Gu Yuena scores 276 points.
