Jiang Yan is a longtime Douluo Continent fan living in the Modern Era. Returning home with courier parcels, he finds Qian Renxue, Ye Guyi, and Leng Yaozhu in his living room. He initially suspects a break-in, a honey trap, or a staged cosplay scenario, even checking his apartment number to make sure he has entered the right home 1.

His familiarity with the novels allows him to identify the women despite their origins in three different eras. When they mistake his world for a future version of Douluo Continent, he explains that their world exists as a novel in his own. The Shock System binds to him during this exchange 1 2.

Personality

Jiang Yan is teasing, irreverent, and openly critical of the characters he once knew through fiction. He mocks Tang Hao’s changing attitude toward Tang San, repeatedly challenges Yu Xiaogang’s reputation, and uses the phrase “Romance Continent” to ridicule plot developments driven by tangled relationships.
