Background / History
Resurrection and the Faction Duel
Qian Daoliu awakens in the Worship Hall after Spirit Hall’s historical figures are resurrected in the Martial Soul Realm. Initially wondering whether Qian Renxue performed the miracle, he is reunited with his granddaughter in a child’s body 4.
When the God of Games pairs Spirit Hall against the Holy Spirit Cult in a pinnacle duel, Qian Daoliu volunteers immediately. Before facing Ha Luosa, he receives a Resurrection Coin and manuals explaining modern cultivation and technology 5.
Despite being a Demigod facing a Quasi-God, he defeats Ha Luosa through the Six-Winged Angel’s attribute advantage, borrowed divine power, and the Angel Holy Sword. The battle lasts five minutes and roughly one hundred exchanges, consuming eighty percent of his Soul Power. Ha Luosa subsequently resurrects elsewhere at the reduced Demigod level 6 7.
Qian Daoliu recognizes that his opponent survived because he receives none of the power normally gained by an Angel Martial Soul user after killing an Evil Soul Master. The God of Games confirms Ha Luosa’s innate resurrection ability and identifies him as a Child of the Plane chosen by Tang Hao 6.
Seeking to Repair the Angel Godhood
For his victory wish, Qian Daoliu asks whether shattered godhood can be repaired. His priorities are restoring the Angel Godhood for Qian Renxue and ensuring her safety 7.
Lin Huan explains that restoration would require enormous faith power or the Divine Realm’s Immortal Qi. Gathering faith would take approximately one thousand years; accepting a long-term mission under the God of Games could shorten the process to one hundred years at the earliest. Qian Daoliu hesitates over the religious implications, particularly because the weakened vitality of the Douluo Plane has left him only three hundred years to live. He returns to consult his companions without making a final decision 7.
Journey to the Modern Era
After distributing copies of the modern manuals, Qian Daoliu personally leads Qian Renxue, Azure Luan, Light Feather, Qian Jun, and Demon Subduing to the Douluo Realm. The Martial Soul Realm lacks Soul Beasts, making access to Soul Spirits essential for his granddaughter’s cultivation. He leaves Golden Crocodile responsible for Spirit Hall during his absence 15.
At the teleportation array, Ye Guyi asks to become his disciple after losing her parents to the Holy Spirit Cult. He accepts, recognizing her talent and feeling an affinity with her Angel Martial Soul. Her resemblance to Qian Renxue prompts him to consider a possible family connection, but no descent is confirmed 15 16.
In Shrek City, the group visits the Spirit Pagoda. Leng Yaozhu arranges to exchange their ancient Gold Soul Coins as valuable antiques, allowing them to obtain modern currency and resources. Qian Daoliu selects two sacred-attribute Light Unicorn Soul Spirits for his granddaughter and disciple, personally inspecting the six-hundred-year specimen before Qian Renxue absorbs it 16 17.
World Quest and Ya Li’s Rescue
Qian Daoliu joins the world quest to save Xie Xie’s mother. After Ya Li heals her physical illness, he guides the family in prayer to ease the emotional distress caused by her husband’s prolonged absence. He also shields those present and stops Du Busi when the Body Sect leader crashes into the estate and attempts to seize Xie Xie 21 22.
Following the quest’s completion, the Holy Spirit Cult ambushes Ya Li’s party. Qian Daoliu later intervenes in Heaven Dou City, protecting Ya Li and driving Long Xiaoyao away. Before attacking, he evacuates nearby civilians after determining that Ya Li is not in immediate danger of being killed. He then removes the seal on her Soul Power and escorts her to Shrek City 23 24.
Modernizing Spirit Hall
Qian Daoliu purchases cultivation resources and establishes cooperation with Leng Yaozhu’s Phoenix Clan. Spirit Hall agrees to supply minerals from the Martial Soul Realm in exchange for resources, while seventh-rank secondary professionals are sent to teach Battle Armor-related professions 25.
Upon returning, he organizes instruction, orders surveys for exploitable resources, and oversees Spirit Hall’s adaptation to Soul Cores and modern technology. Several consecrators enter seclusion to condense their first Soul Cores. He also continues supporting Qian Renxue and Ye Guyi, giving each a Mystic Water Pill that raises their cultivation by one level 30.
Appearance
- Hair and eyes: Long golden hair and imposing golden eyes 5.
- Martial Soul manifestation: Three pairs of golden wings and an enormous Angel Phantom 5 22.
- Divine power: Golden radiance surrounds him in battle; his eyes shine with divine light when he invokes the Angel God’s power 5.
Personality
Qian Daoliu is deeply devout and ordinarily detached from worldly ambitions. His companions describe him as having few desires and spending his days praying beneath the Angel God Statue. Restoring the Angel Godhood and protecting Qian Renxue are the concerns capable of drawing him out of that withdrawal 7 15.
His gentleness turns into uncompromising hostility toward Evil Soul Masters, whose eradication he regards as the Qian Family’s duty. Nevertheless, he is cautious rather than reckless: when he detects several hostile Limit Douluos in Eastsea City, he conceals his presence instead of confronting them openly 5 22.
He acknowledges his limitations without disguising them, openly admitting that he cannot defeat Yun Ming. His willingness to study unfamiliar technology, negotiate trade, and reorganize Spirit Hall shows that he does not treat his historical prestige as a substitute for adapting 15 25 30.
Abilities & Skills
Six-Winged Angel
His god-grade Martial Soul possesses ultimate light and sacred attributes, making him especially dangerous to Evil Soul Masters 5.
- Attribute suppression: Counters darkness and death-based powers; his Angel Domain sharply weakens Ha Luosa 5.
- Purification: Destroys deathly energy and melts Ha Luosa’s twelve skeletal puppets 6.
- Evil-specific damage: The sacred attribute provides an additional advantage against Evil Soul Masters. Long Xiaoyao’s pure darkness suffers attribute suppression but not this extra effect 24.
- Flight and protection: His six wings enable rapid aerial movement and can shield nearby people from collapsing debris 6 22.
- Detection: Senses evil presences and distinguishes evil cultivation from darkness alone 22 24.
Angel Divine Power
As the Angel God’s servant, Qian Daoliu can borrow divine power. His own Soul Power and spiritual power also possess divinity 5 26.
- Offense: Overwhelms Ha Luosa’s death-attributed Soul Power at the level of power itself 6.
- Defense: Angel Divine Light prevents Ha Luosa’s corrosive Death Qi from reaching his body 6.
- Combat ceiling: Combined with his divine artifact, raises his effective combat strength to the Quasi-God level without changing his Demigod cultivation 26.
Domains and Soul Skills
| Ability | Applications and limits |
|---|---|
| Angel Domain | Envelops opponents in sacred light. Ha Luosa must overlap his Battle Armor domain and innate domain merely to withstand its initial suppression 5. |
| Martial Soul Avatar | Used alongside Angel Domain at the beginning of the faction duel to unleash his full strength immediately 5. |
| Eighth Soul Skill: Angel Descent | Summons an enormous Angel Phantom and Angel Holy Mountain, trapping Ha Luosa inside the Angel Realm 6. |
| Ninth Soul Skill: Angel’s Breath | Releases countless golden breaths across the battlefield, breaking Ha Luosa’s overlapping domains and purifying his puppets and Death Qi 5 6. |
Swordsmanship
Qian Daoliu possesses top-tier Sword Soul Realm sword intent 26.
- Coordinates his sword attacks with an Angel Phantom, which delivers three consecutive giant light-sword strikes against Ha Luosa 6.
- Severs Ha Luosa’s Underworld King Sword with the Angel Holy Sword before cleaving and purifying his body 6.
Spiritual Cultivation and Instruction
His spiritual power reaches the peak of the Spirit Domain Realm. Years of prayer and exposure to the Angel’s light strengthen his state of mind and impart a trace of divinity 21 22.
- Guides prayer as a form of mental and spiritual cultivation, easing Xie Xie’s mother’s emotional distress 22.
- Provides Ya Li with insights into Angel Martial Soul cultivation 22.
- Uses gentle Angel Soul Power to lift Ye Guyi before she can prostrate herself 15.
Limitations
- No Soul Core during the faction duel: His recovery and endurance are inferior to Ha Luosa’s three-core cultivation, forcing him to pursue a decisive burst rather than attrition 5 7.
- Matchup dependence: He acknowledges that he could not have beaten Ha Luosa without his Martial Soul counter, divine power, and divine artifact 15.
- Stronger opponents: He is outmatched by Bibi Dong’s direct pressure and explicitly considers Yun Ming beyond his strength 15.
- Pursuit: He cannot reliably prevent a Limit Douluo such as Long Xiaoyao from escaping through space 24.

- Ya Li — Fellow Angel Martial Soul user whom he advises and rescues. Both explicitly clarify that their relationship is friendship after his companions misunderstand their return together 22 24 25.
- Ha Luosa — Faction-duel opponent. Qian Daoliu defeats him, but his resurrection prevents a permanent kill 6.
