Background and History
Family and Conflict with Spirit Hall
Tang Hao is Tang Chen’s grandson and the husband of Ah Yin, the Blue Silver Emperor and a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. Their son, Tang San, becomes the Sea God and a dual-godhood God King 2 6 28.
During Qian Xunji’s pursuit of Tang Hao, the accompanying elders Golden Bell and Silver Hammer suffered a counterattack: Tang Hao killed one and severely injured the other. The account does not identify which elder died 15.
In his resurrected life, Tang Hao lives in Holy Soul Village with Tang Shan, a girl created by Lin Huan as a counterpart to Tang San rather than another incarnation of the Tang San still living in the Divine Realm. Tang Hao calls her Tang Zhaodi and blames her birth for exposing Ah Yin’s Soul Beast identity and bringing Spirit Hall down upon the family 17 18.
Rule as Plane Master
By the time Lin Huan appears, Tang Hao occupies the Douluo Plane’s divine seat. Lin Huan publicly identifies him as a human who usurped the position, rather than a naturally born Plane Spirit. Shrek Academy’s leaders question why he never intervened during thousands of years of Abyssal invasions, leaving humans to organize their own resistance 2.
Lin Huan later reveals that Tang Hao selected Ha Luosa, the Underworld Emperor, as a Child of the Plane specifically to hinder Douluo’s development. Ha Luosa’s status also gives him an innate capacity for resurrection 6.
Appearance
- Build: Towering, rugged, and burly; he appears disheveled when presented in the cosmic arena 2.
- After resurrection: His heavy drinking leaves him with an overpowering smell of alcohol 17.
- Divine manifestation: As Plane Master, he wields an enormous seven-colored Clear Sky Hammer 2.
Personality
Tang Hao relies heavily on his family’s divine standing. When confronted by stronger opponents, he repeatedly invokes Tang San’s rank and threatens retaliation or resurrection through his son. His defiance collapses under Lin Huan’s repeated torment, and he again appeals to Tang San immediately before the Abyssal Sage King kills him 2.
His treatment of Tang Shan combines misogyny, resentment, and deliberate cruelty. He believes a son could continue the family line and avenge Ah Yin, while dismissing a daughter as a burden. After noticing Tang Shan’s unfamiliar cultivation techniques, he concludes that she has been possessed; he keeps her alive as someone upon whom he can vent his anger 17 28.
He also expects filial obedience regardless of his own conduct. After recovering his memories, he counts on Tang Shan’s reluctance to strike her father and condemns her as unfilial when she retaliates. His distress at losing her is intertwined with his belief that she was his route back to godhood and the Plane Master’s position 28 29.
Abilities and Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang Hao’s weapon-type Martial Soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, which appears seven-colored during his time as Plane Master 2.
- Uses it in direct clashes with the Heavenly Sacred Abyssal Halberd, but is overwhelmed by the Abyssal Sage King outside Douluo Star 2.
- Enlarges the hammer through Clear Sky True Body during his escape from Spirit Hall 29.
- Cannot break Lin Huan’s binding chains; after resurrection, Lin Huan also catches his descending hammer barehanded 2 28.
Planar Authority
His former divine seat grants authority and combat advantages tied to the Douluo Plane 2 3.
- Can apply planar suppression against the Abyssal Sage King within Douluo 2.
- Can select a Child of the Plane, as demonstrated by his appointment of Ha Luosa 6.
- Loses the seat’s amplification outside Douluo Star; Lin Huan takes the seat after his death 2 3.
Blood Concealment Escape
Tang Hao attempts to escape Lin Huan’s orange-red shockwaves through Blood Concealment Escape 2.
- Repeatedly uses the technique during his public torment.
- Cannot evade Lin Huan, who restores him after each apparent destruction and repeats the attack. These resurrections are Lin Huan’s doing, not an independently demonstrated resurrection ability of Tang Hao 2.
Ring Detonation and Domain
Tang Hao uses Ring Detonation and Divine Slaughter’s Domain while surrounded by Spirit Hall’s forces 29.
- Detonates his first six Soul Rings to drive back Chrysanthemum Douluo, Ghost Douluo, and Demon Bear Douluo.
- Detonates his eighth ring when Golden Crocodile Douluo intercepts his escape.
- Manifests Divine Slaughter’s Domain alongside Clear Sky True Body; its specific effects are not described in the encounter 29.
Ninth Soul Skill: Invincible Golden Buttocks
A localized defensive skill that coats Tang Hao’s buttocks in golden radiance 29.
- Blocks attacks below the divine realm for three seconds.
- Protects only the affected area, rather than providing full-body invincibility.
- Withstands Golden Crocodile Douluo’s Divine Crocodile Tail Swing, allowing Tang Hao to use the impact to propel himself out of the encirclement 29 30.
Soul Ring Configuration
| Period | Configuration | Notable Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Resurrected Titled Douluo | Two yellow, two purple, four black, one scarlet | His ninth ring is a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring and powers Invincible Golden Buttocks 28 29. |
Major Story Events
All-Galaxy Cosmic Tournament
Lin Huan interrupts Tang Hao as he attempts to contact the Sea God’s Divine Sense within Tang Wulin. Bound and dragged into a cosmic arena, Tang Hao is publicly introduced as both the Sea God’s father and Douluo’s Plane Master. His repeated threats provoke Lin Huan into destroying and restoring him more than a dozen times 2.
When the match finally begins, the Abyssal Sage King defeats him in a one-sided battle, severs his right arm, and beheads him with the Heavenly Sacred Abyssal Halberd. Lin Huan subsequently dissolves Tang Hao’s remains and claims his divine seat 2 3.
Resurrection and Tang Shan’s Rejection
Six years after his death, Tang Hao is revealed to have returned as a Level 92 Titled Douluo in Holy Soul Village. He neglects Tang Shan, consumes the food she prepares without leaving her any, and threatens to kill her if she awakens her Martial Soul. Lin Huan secretly feeds her and awakens her Blue Silver Grass and Clear Sky Hammer 17 18.
When Tang Hao discovers her awakening, the sight of Blue Silver Grass briefly moves him to tears over Ah Yin. He then turns violent, kicks Tang Shan through the cottage wall, and attempts to kill her with his hammer. Lin Huan intervenes, restores Tang Hao’s former memories, heals Tang Shan, and restrains him 27 28.
Lin Huan persuades Tang Shan that Tang Hao might be a trafficker posing as her father. She strikes him repeatedly and vows to kill him once she becomes strong enough. She later joins Lin Huan’s household as his disciple, remaining uncomfortable with the word “father” because of her experiences with Tang Hao 28 32 33.
Escape from Spirit Hall
After Lin Huan leaves with Tang Shan, the restraints disappear and Spirit Hall’s pursuers surround Tang Hao. He uses Ring Detonation to repel several attackers, then activates Invincible Golden Buttocks against Golden Crocodile Douluo’s finishing blow. The collision launches him beyond the encirclement, and his successful escape is confirmed afterward 29 30.
