Personality

Tang San initially places considerable faith in his teacher, Yu Xiaogang. He accepts Shrek Academy’s unimpressive appearance because his teacher recommended it, refuses to leave after Zhao Wuji’s conduct, and stops Xiao Wu from disparaging Yu Xiaogang. Even when he privately questions the maxim that there are no worthless Martial Souls, he suppresses the thought 33 35.

His devotion to Xiao Wu repeatedly drives him to risk or surrender his life. He openly accepts her Soul Beast identity, confronts Spirit Hall despite severe injuries, and eventually kills himself to separate a Soul Bone that could help her escape 131 180 181.

His confidence can become arrogance when he gains overwhelming power. During the Star Luo tournament match, he regards opponents as insects, attacks a defensive Soul Master with potentially fatal force, and considers killing defeated enemies. Tang Hao’s warning interrupts his use of Tool Soul True Body, but not his subsequent beating of the injured opponents 115 116 117.

Tang San is also a patient schemer when direct confrontation is unfavorable. He conceals his identity for years and later organizes a coordinated ambush against Yu Tianshuang. History

Shrek Academy and the Tournament

A reincarnated Tang Sect disciple, Tang San travels to Shrek Academy with Xiao Wu and meets Yu Tianshuang along the way. He remains at Shrek despite Xiao Wu’s wish to leave with Yu Tianshuang, prioritizing Yu Xiaogang’s recommendation 33 35.

He later distributes Immortal Herbs to his companions and begins considering how to restore the Tang Sect on the continent. Meanwhile, Yu Tianshuang learns that Tang San stripped the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well of its herbs and that Tang Hao gravely injured Dugu Bo. Tang San’s severe injuries to Shui Bing’er and her teammates turn Yu Tianshuang’s interest in cooperation into hostility 60 67.

Against the Star Luo team, Tang San uses Shrek’s combined Soul Power to manifest Tool Soul True Body. He overwhelms the Hell White Tiger and continues attacking its injured users after Tang Hao orders him to stop using the amplified form 115 116 117.

Spirit Hall Ambush and Tournament Defeat

Spirit Hall arranges an ambush after Tang San refuses recruitment. Xiao Wu intercepts Gui Mei’s fatal attack, and Tang Hao appears to protect his son. Sword Douluo’s eventual intervention ends the confrontation, though Tang San suspects that the rescue was not straightforward 82 84 86.

In the tournament final, Yu Tianshuang freezes Tang San’s Tool Soul True Body and overwhelms Shrek with Ultimate Ice and sword Qi. Tang San survives treatment but is temporarily unable to move because even his organs and blood have frozen 129 130.

Xiao Wu’s identity is exposed when the frozen Lovesick Heartbreak Red fails to conceal her. Tang San publicly declares his love regardless of her species and prepares to defend her. Tang Hao intervenes again, and father and son escape despite the plan to kill them. Shrek’s second-place finish remains recognized 131 132 133.

Awakening and Slaughter City

After further training with Tang Hao, Tang San awakens Blue Silver Emperor and enters Slaughter City. His transformed appearance allows him to pose as an unfamiliar Clear Sky Sect disciple, even when he encounters Yu Tianshuang and Hu Liena 159 162.

He fights with the Clear Sky Hammer, hidden weapons, and sect techniques that remain usable under the city’s restrictions. During Hell Road, he avoids revealing Blue Silver Emperor until Yu Tianshuang has departed, fearing that the combination of his two Martial Souls would expose him 164 167.

Xiao Wu’s Sacrifice and the Tang Sect

Tang San eventually reveals himself to reunite with Xiao Wu after five years apart. His Blue Silver Overlord Spear fails against Yu Tianshuang, who returns it through his chest. Tang San attempts to hold off pursuit, loses his right leg, and kills himself to give Xiao Wu the flight-capable Soul Bone 180 181.

Following Xiao Wu’s sacrifice, he returns to the Heaven Dou Empire and begins establishing a force capable of opposing Spirit Hall and Yu Tianshuang. Tai Tan joins the Tang Sect and immediately recommends recruiting the other Single-Attribute Clans 181 182.

Ambush and Imperial Palace Battle

Tang San organizes an ambush involving the Single-Attribute Clans and Shrek companions. He wounds Zhu Zhuqing and Bai Chenxiang together and coordinates attacks while assistance from Spirit City is occupied elsewhere. Yu Tianshuang’s counterattack leaves much of the ambushing force unable to continue, and Tang San declines to gamble on another exchange 192 194 195.

At the imperial palace, he recognizes the angelic power of the supposed Xue Qinghe and discovers Qian Renxue’s identity. His eighty-one-strike hammer attack breaks her Angel Domain and severely injures her, but Yu Tianshuang subsequently incapacitates him with a single strike 197 198 199.

Sea God Inheritance and War

By level 85, Tang San possesses the Sea God Trident and attempts to rescue Da Ming and Er Ming. He kills Ghost Douluo, receives direct assistance from a Sea God Phantom, and becomes the recipient of the two Soul Beasts’ sacrifices 266 267 269 271.

During the wider war, he fights alongside the Heaven Dou Empire and Holy Spirit Cult. He briefly celebrates breaking one of Yu Tianshuang’s attacks before realizing that the true target was the rest of his side. He later defeats Yue Guan, who burns his life force to buy time for Hu Liena and Ling Yuan to escape 279 284 295 300.

Death, Resurrection, and Godhood

Shui Bing’er kills Tang San during their later confrontation, reducing his frozen body to fragments. Xiao Wu senses the loss through their continuing soul bond 315 316.

He returns in Holy Spirit Cult clothing, retaining his mind, and attacks Shui Bing’er again. His use of divine skills without his captured trident reveals that he has attained godhood. He subsequently overwhelms Yu Tianshuang’s defenses, inflicts a devastating wound, and takes control of him 342 343 345.

Qian Renxue intervenes. Tang San first proposes a divine partnership, then offers to relinquish Yu Tianshuang and turn against the Holy Spirit Cult as his Divine Power runs low. She rejects his offers and rescues Yu Tianshuang after severing Tang San’s left hand 349 351.

Asura Return

Tang San later reappears with blood-red Asura power. He repels attacks from multiple opponents and clashes with Qian Renxue using a gigantic sword and giant manifestation 371 373 375.

At his last documented confrontation, Xiao Wu begs Yu Tianshuang to spare him. Tang San rejects surrender, asserting that he has reached the God King Realm and possesses the Asura God’s full authority 378.
