- Cultivation realm: No named realm is established for Ye Fan in these chapters. Commander Zha’s identification of an Innate Spirit Body concerns his constitution, not his cultivation rank 24 25.
Background / History
Life in Hundred Stars Village
Ye Fan grows up as the only child of a hunter’s household. He frequently accompanies his father on hunts, develops a sturdy build and learns practical hunting skills. He also repairs household tools and joins the village’s trading trips to Mang Village 1 2 3.
During a visit to Granny Liu with Xiao Feng, he encounters the warm blue-green stone that becomes the source of his World Seed awakening. Granny Liu’s hardship also strengthens his determination to give his own parents a better life 3 4.
Awakening and Relocation
After witnessing the creation of his Inner World, Ye Fan experiments privately with its entrance, energy and life-giving resources. He secretly adds Spring of Life water to Granny Liu’s medicine; her recovery leaves Xiao Feng bewildered because he had believed her condition incurable 5 9 11 13.
As Hundred Stars Village prepares to leave the increasingly dangerous mountains, Ye Fan conceals his new abilities even from his parents. He quietly channels Spiritual Qi into his exhausted father and helps Xiao Ke’er’s family pack their medicine shop. Before the move, he and Ke’er share an embrace beneath the moon 15 16.
At Phoenix Cry Village, Ma Chuang threatens to take Ke’er. Ye Fan intervenes and overwhelms him, allowing the villagers to continue their journey 19.
Sunset City and a New Livelihood
While accompanying a supply-buying party to Sunset City, Ye Fan attracts Commander Zha’s attention. The commander examines him with the Heaven-Peering Mirror, concludes that he has an Innate Spirit Body and gives him a Spirit-Concealing Pearl. Their discussion of cultivation leads Ye Fan to define his purpose: becoming strong enough to protect his family and village 22 24 25.
Once the new village is established, Ye Fan uses his Inner World to grow medicinal herbs. His first large sale to Pharmacist Bai brings in three hundred taels. He later negotiates a confidential supply arrangement and persuades Bai to purchase the villagers’ bamboo wares; by the next delivery, the villagers credit him with bringing them twenty taels of income 37 38 42 48.
Secret Support During the War
During the Qian–Wu war, Ye Fan supports the Qian defenders without openly joining the fighting. He adds Spring of Life water to more than ten wells in Wuling City and later spreads Spiritual Qi over the exhausted Sunset City army, restoring strength to soldiers and horses 44 46.
He continues expanding his herb production for the troops. On a later delivery trip, he again hires Qi Dazhu’s group, offers to examine Xiao Liuzi’s lingering leg injury and accompanies the loaded handcarts to a city gate, where Ma Yuan is present 46 49.
Appearance
- Initial build: Fairly sturdy from regularly hunting with his father 1.
- After the Earth Vein transformation: Denser bones, more pronounced sinews and powerful muscles; lightning flashes in his eyes during the transformation 6.
- After cultivating the Star Art: More defined musculature, a sharper gaze and faint starlight radiating from his body while drawing in stellar power 46.
Personality
Ye Fan’s strongest motivation is protecting the people close to him. He resolves to improve his parents’ lives after seeing Granny Liu’s suffering, and later makes the safety of his family and village the reason for pursuing cultivation. His concern extends to soldiers: he helps Qian troops recover while also recognizing ordinary Wu soldiers as people trapped by orders 4 25 44 45 46.
He is curious and experimental, testing everything from the Inner World’s energy absorption to medicinal-herb propagation. That curiosity can make him careless: drawing too much Spiritual Qi withers surrounding vegetation, and reaching outside his concealment nearly exposes him to Commander Bai Yu. Both incidents prompt him to exercise greater caution 9 34 37.
He usually hides his advantages rather than displaying them. He withholds the Inner World from his parents, invents a mundane origin for his herbs and makes secrecy a condition of his business agreement. Nevertheless, he becomes openly forceful when Ma Chuang threatens Ke’er 16 19 38 42.
His affection for Ke’er develops alongside occasional romantic obliviousness. During an early mountain walk, she wishes they could remain together forever while he concentrates on the fruit and bringing some home for his mother. Later, they embrace and exchange increasingly affectionate attention 9 16 26.

Water Spirit Art
His first cultivation art is a supplementary method that enriches water with Spiritual Qi and water spirit, nourishing living things 13 34 35.
