Her gentleness becomes fierce protectiveness when she believes others are mistreating him. After hearing about his arena battles, she rushes to check on him and criticizes students she thinks are pulling rank. History

Assignment to Mu Yueye

Mu En introduces Zhang Lexuan to six-year-old Mu Yueye and assigns her to help him cultivate and keep him safe. She welcomes him enthusiastically and accepts the prospect of a future together. Mu Yueye responds more cautiously, addressing her as a senior and beginning cultivation to put a temporary stop to her advances; she settles beside him to cultivate as well 4.

First Soul Hunting Expedition

When Mu Yueye is ready for his second Soul Ring, Zhang Lexuan escorts him to the Star Dou Great Forest. Mu En arranges the journey partly to bring them closer, with Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe secretly providing protection 5.

After an unsuccessful day searching the mixed region, she kills a Violent Bear and shelters with Mu Yueye in its den. Xuan Zi subsequently stages a Wolf Bandit encounter to test their response to an unexpected attack. He blames Zhang Lexuan for inadequate campsite security and orders knuckle push-ups until dawn, but Mu Yueye objects and secures her release from the punishment 6 7 8.

She remains worried during Mu Yueye’s absorption of a five-thousand-year Holy Radiance Unicorn Soul Ring. Once he succeeds, she checks his condition and reproaches what she interprets as boasting about the ease of the process. Back at Shrek, Mu En grants her two days’ rest before resuming her normal duties 10 11.

Fire Investigation and Seclusion

Before entering cultivation seclusion, Zhang Lexuan takes Mu Yueye out for a meal. On their return, they notice suspicious firelight near the academy. She volunteers to investigate and tells him to return to Shrek; he is ambushed separately afterward 21.
