• At the Defense Clan gathering, Tang San defeated Niu Gao and persuaded him to join the Tang Sect, while Hu Jiu drove off Hu Yan Zhen’s recruitment attempt for Spirit Hall.

Hu Jiu reached level 99, while Tang San returned to the Clear Sky Sect and won acceptance through his strength. After a year of preparation, Hu Jiu and his allies killed the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, and Hu Jiu absorbed its power and began his transformation into a god.

• Bo Saixi told Hu Jiu that his Ninth Trial required him to reach level 99 and kill the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King within five years, so he resolved to become strong enough to activate the inheritance without sacrificing her.
• Hu Jiu killed a deep-sea Black Dragon, used its Inner Core to reach level 99, and gained a powerful Soul Skill before announcing his breakthrough to Ning Fengzhi and sparring with Sword Douluo.
• Tang San returned to the Clear Sky Sect, revealed his Twin Martial Souls and strength to Tang Xiao, and was accepted as Tang Xiao’s nephew despite the elders’ opposition.
• Tang San defeated and humbled Seventh Elder, then completed his ceremony of acknowledging his ancestors and returning to the sect with Hu Jiu and his companions present.
• Over the following year, Hu Jiu strengthened his Soul Rings and Soul Bones, and Dai Mubai reached the Titled Douluo realm before the group set out for the whale king’s territory.
• Hu Jiu and his allies attacked the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, wounded it, and Hu Jiu drained its life force until it died.
