New Cultivation Technique
Su Han found an unoccupied bench in the residential complex's garden and sat down.
Then he opened Azure Waves Immortal Martial Arts: Body Tempering Chapter and began to read.
The booklet was thin, only a dozen or so pages long, and recorded only the body tempering portion.
Its very first sentence revealed how extraordinary it was.
"Using qi and blood as the foundation, temper the skin, flesh, sinews, and bones to lay the groundwork for longevity."
Training qi and blood?
It seemed to be a cultivation method he had never heard of.
Su Han quickly read on.
The more he read, the brighter his eyes became.
The technique was indeed more powerful than secret martial arts, just as Zhao Lei had said.
Far more powerful.
Secret martial arts mainly trained techniques for using force: how to exert it, channel it, and strike with it.
They did little to strengthen the body itself.
At most, stance training and practice methods made the muscles sturdier and the bones harder.
But this technique strengthened the flesh at its very foundation!
It made the body its core and trained qi and blood into martial strength.
But it required a great deal of resources. With those resources, progress would be swift.
The Body Refinement chapter, meanwhile, used the technique to temper the body, strengthening it in every respect.
One sensed and used qi and blood to stimulate the skin, sinews, and bones, continually strengthening them.
Until one could make the blood boil!
And qi and blood were precisely what Su Han lacked least.
His physique had already surpassed three hundred, and his qi and blood were as vigorous as a boiling furnace.
If he fully unleashed the qi and blood within him, how terrifying would that be?
And he didn't need resources, either. After all, his physique was growing with every passing moment.
An endless, inexhaustible supply.
"This technique... was practically tailor-made for me."
Su Han closed the booklet and leaned back on the bench, planning to deal with the technique later.
For now, he began analyzing the information he had just obtained from Zhao Lei.
"Ten Thousand Immortals Cult..." Su Han murmured.
He had never even heard of the sect.
Its cultivation system was equally unheard of.
Such an ingenious concept, a heavenly steed soaring across the skies.
It was completely unlike the secret martial arts passed down from ancient times, and unlike the enhanced and modified humans developed in the present day.
It was almost as though it came from another world.
He had no idea what sort of existence the other party actually was.
And then there was Self-Circulating City.
That, Su Han did know about.
Self-Circulating City was the center of Yi Kingdom, a place where the wealthy and powerful gathered behind high walls.
It and the outer city were two entirely different worlds. The cost of living, development, and the level of their powerhouses were as different as heaven and earth.
But why would someone from Self-Circulating City want to kill his parents?
His family ran an ordinary noodle shop. They had nothing to do with a place like that, not even if you reached for it with a ten-foot pole.
Su Han also had some impression of the Sturgeon Group, which had handled the matter.
It seemed to be a very large group with a wide range of business interests spanning all kinds of industries.
But he didn't know exactly what it did.
In any case, after piecing together the information, he finally had some direction.
But he was still lost in the clouds and mist; things were far from clear.
He needed more information.
Su Han had originally been nothing more than an ordinary civilian, with no real way to come into contact with such high-level figures.
After thinking it over for a while, Su Han ultimately decided to visit the Celestial Phenomena Martial Arts School and ask his master, Lu Xunxiang.
Perhaps he would know something about it.
That evening, at the Celestial Phenomena Martial Arts School.
Most of the students had already left, leaving only a few diligent ones behind for extra training.
Su Han headed straight upstairs to the second floor and knocked on the office door.
"Come in," Lu Xunxiang's voice came from inside.
Su Han pushed the door open and entered.
Lu Xunxiang and Lu Yu were both there.
Lu Xunxiang was making tea, while Lu Yu sat on the sofa, playing on her phone.
When they saw that the visitor was Su Han, they both looked up.
"Junior brother? Back so soon?" Lu Yu was somewhat surprised.
"Mm." Su Han closed the door. "Master, senior sister, there's something I'd like to ask."
"Sit down first." Lu Xunxiang pointed to the chair opposite him and poured him a cup of tea.
Then he looked at his treasured disciple and asked,
"What did you want to ask? Are you having trouble with your martial arts training?"
Su Han sat down as well, but shook his head at Lu Xunxiang's question.
His expression serious, he gathered his words before slowly asking,
"Master, have you heard of the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult?"
As soon as the words left his mouth,
Lu Xunxiang's hand shook as he drank his tea, and he nearly dropped the cup.
Then he looked up, his expression turning grave in an instant.
He fixed Su Han with a sharp gaze and asked,
"Where did you hear that name?"
"I happened to hear someone mention it." Su Han's expression didn't change, and he acted as though he were simply asking an ordinary question.
But inwardly, he was pleasantly surprised.
Judging by his master's reaction, he did know something after all.
So Su Han immediately pressed on.
"Master, what sort of sect is the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult?"
Lu Xunxiang put down the teapot and fell silent for a few seconds before slowly speaking.
His tone was grave, carrying a warning.
"It's an evil cult."
"An evil cult?"
"That's right." Lu Xunxiang nodded.
"The authorities have issued an uncompromising order: anyone who has dealings with a member of the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult is guilty of a serious crime."
"No matter who they are, they'll be severely punished without exception."
Su Han's heart tightened. The authorities are cracking down that hard?
"Where did they come from?" Su Han asked simply.
"I don't know." But Lu Xunxiang shook his head as well.
"I don't know much either. I've only heard that the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult has a very unusual cultivation system, one that involves the body's qi and blood."
"And it's very possible that these people aren't from this world."
"Not from this world?"
Su Han frowned, recalling the technique. It was indeed extraordinary, unlike anything from this world.
"That's right." Lu Xunxiang's tone was grave.
"Rumor has it that they come from another world and have their own unique cultivation system.
"I've heard that if people from our world practice it, the consequences will be unpredictable."
"In any case, they're an extremely dangerous bunch."
After saying this, Lu Xunxiang looked at Su Han again, his gaze stern, and warned him repeatedly.
"Whatever you do, don't come into contact with them. Do you understand?"
"I understand." Su Han nodded.
He asked no more about the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult. This was all he could learn from his master.
Later, he would think of another way and see if he could find out more about the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult from other sources.
As for Zhao Lei, he had even less reason to bring him up.
From the description, the Ten Thousand Immortals Cult seemed extremely dangerous. If information about a member of the cult could be kept hidden, it was best not to expose it.
Otherwise, he might bring more calamities upon himself.
"What about the Sturgeon Group, Master? Have you heard of it?" Su Han changed the subject.
The culprit who had harmed his parents came from Self-Circulating City. It was too far away, and it would be too difficult to make a move there.
The Sturgeon Group, meanwhile, was an accomplice that had handled everything.
Some of the killers sent after him before were definitely connected to the Sturgeon Group as well.
He had to learn more about this organization.
