Personality

Lü Yifei retains a prodigy’s pride even after losing his cultivation. Although revenge gives him a reason to accept Gu Xuanjin’s offer, he refuses to submit without first testing the Divine Son’s strength. His defeat convinces him to bow willingly rather than merely accept protection out of desperation 16.

His attachment to A-Yuan survives years of helplessness. Killing her murderer brings him no joy because it cannot restore her life, but mourning her afterward allows him to find peace. Gu Xuanjin specifically values his loyalty and deep affection 21 26.

As a follower, he places severe expectations on himself. He is prepared to intercept attacks from Supreme Realm opponents to protect Gu Xuanjin, despite the overwhelming danger. Later, embarrassment over taking too long to defeat Lu Ling drives him to burn his essence blood, and he apologizes even after winning 37 38 39.

History

Fall and Recruitment

Lü Yifei inherited Demon God Marquis Wen’s legacy and the Ghost God Sky Piercer. His conflict with the Myriad Demon Divine Court left his childhood sweetheart and Dao companion, A-Yuan, dead and his cultivation crippled. He later states that Lu Jun had relied on higher-realm followers to overwhelm him. The Jade Pool Holy Land saved his life, and he eventually worked in a quiet shop in Jade Lake Holy City 15 24.

Gu Xuanjin sought him out through Xu Lingxi and offered both recovery and the opportunity to kill Lu Jun personally. Lü Yifei revealed his damaged halberd and challenged Gu Xuanjin before agreeing to follow him. After losing decisively, he accepted the restoration pill and recovered at the Jade Pool Holy Land 15 16.

He subsequently guarded Gu Xuanjin against challengers during the gathering. He also volunteered to test Beigong Yan, but Gu Xuanjin declined because Lü Yifei was no match for him. When the gathering ended, Lü Yifei departed the Azure Radiance Dao Domain with Gu Xuanjin’s retinue 16 17 18.

Revenge for A-Yuan

Gu Xuanjin brought Lü Yifei to the Heavenly Peng Demon King’s inheritance in the Youxuan Dao Domain, promising to keep Lu Jun’s senior protectors from interfering. Inside, Lü Yifei killed Yan Lin and forced Lu Jun onto the defensive 21 23 24.

Lü Yifei destroyed Lu Jun’s Golden Crow manifestation with Marquis Wen’s phantom. When Lu Jun’s Quasi-Emperor protector intervened, Gu Xuanjin ordered four Quasi-Emperors to eliminate him, allowing Lü Yifei to finish Lu Jun and destroy both his body and soul 25.

Afterward, Lü Yifei mourned A-Yuan rather than celebrating. Once composed, he knelt and kowtowed three times to Gu Xuanjin in gratitude. He then helped open the ancient coffin, stored it on command, and accompanied the group until their departure from the devastated inheritance site 26 27 28 30.

War Against the Myriad Demon Divine Court

Lu Jun’s death prompted Demon Emperor Lu Jue to confront the Gu Clan, escalating the grievance into war. Lü Yifei accompanied Gu Xuanjin when the Gu Clan descended upon the Myriad Demon Divine Court 25 31 34.

During the battle, Gu Xuanjin assigned him to fight the fourth prince, Lu Ling. Unable to secure a quick victory, Lü Yifei burned his essence blood and invoked the ancient battlefield and Marquis Wen’s phantom. Gu Xuanjin’s experts killed Lu Ling’s protector, while Lü Yifei overcame the prince’s final saber attack and killed him 37 38 39.

Lü Yifei remained beside Gu Xuanjin after the Divine Court’s destruction. He later accompanied him on the journey toward the Longevity Qin Clan 40 46.
