Background / History
Transmigration and the Fang Clan
Fang Lingtian came from Blue Star and transmigrated into the body of the Fang Clan’s third young master. His mother was a maidservant, and his father had conceived him while drunk. His low standing and inability to cultivate had made him a frequent target of abuse, even from servants 19 28.
After binding to the God-Level Lottery System, he received an initial ten-draw that yielded cultivation techniques, pills, divine weapons, and other rewards. When a servant demanded his monthly pills and ordered him to wash the residence’s clothing, Fang Lingtian beat him into submission. He then defeated his second brother, who intervened on the servant’s behalf, and left to seek opportunities in a nearby Quasi-Emperor’s legacy 19 20.
His system’s arrival also attracted Gu Xuanjin’s attention. Although Fang Lingtian had not received a protagonist’s destiny from the Heavenly Dao, killing him would allow Gu Xuanjin to seize the lottery system’s origin. Gu Xuanjin therefore tasked Dugu Yunyan with finding and testing him 19.
The Quasi-Emperor’s Legacy
At the legacy site, Fang Lingtian encountered his eldest brother, Fang Lingcang, and Qing’er. After Qing’er falsely accused him of trying to touch her, Fang Lingcang ordered his servants to cripple him. Fang Lingtian defeated the servants and forced his Mystic Pill Realm brother back in a direct exchange 20.
Before he could retaliate further, Dugu Yunyan sealed the surrounding space and launched a lethal palm strike. Fang Lingtian escaped with a pale-purple talisman that bypassed the spatial blockade 20.
Inside the legacy, he fought alongside two human geniuses against a group of Demon Race prodigies. His trump cards allowed him to kill two opponents, drawing concentrated attacks against him. A blue defensive light saved him from a potentially fatal sword strike, but four Pill Sea Realm attackers eventually stretched his remaining resources too thin. He escaped through the void, leaving his two companions behind; both were subsequently killed 22 23.
Confrontation with Gu Xuanjin
When Gu Xuanjin pinpointed his location, the God-Level Lottery System warned Fang Lingtian of certain death and attempted to abandon him. An invasion prevented it from unbinding. Fang Lingtian persuaded the trapped system to support a final lottery draw, obtaining a one-hour summoning card for an Early-Stage Void Immortal incarnation of Nether Prison Heavenly Venerable 28.
Gu Xuanjin confronted him and revealed that he knew about the lottery system. Fang Lingtian activated his summoning card, then realized that Gu Xuanjin also possessed a system when his opponent produced an immortal Dao killing-move card 29.
The summoned incarnation countered Gu Xuanjin’s World-Saving Great Handprint with reincarnation and netherworld power. The handprint overwhelmed its attack and annihilated the legacy site. Gu Xuanjin’s system confirmed Fang Lingtian’s death and the seizure of the God-Level Lottery System’s origin 30.
Appearance
Fang Lingtian was a handsome youth with sword-like brows and starry eyes 19 20.
- Wore ordinary clothing when first shown at the Fang residence 19.
- Wore a black robe during the fighting inside the legacy 22.
Personality
Fang Lingtian refused to accept the humiliation endured by his body’s previous owner. He answered bullying with violence and responded to Qing’er’s false accusation with openly contemptuous insults. Initially, possessing a system also made him confident that exceptional luck would help him profit from the Quasi-Emperor’s legacy despite his limited cultivation 19 20.
His survival instincts could outweigh loyalty to temporary allies: he fled the Demon Race ambush when his trump cards ran low, leaving two fellow human cultivators behind. Under greater pressure, he alternated between anger and practical planning. After panicking over his system’s attempted desertion, he recognized their shared predicament and deliberately chose a reward category that could protect him without relying on his own cultivation 23 28.
Abilities & Skills
God-Level Lottery System
The system supplied Fang Lingtian with cultivation resources, weapons, techniques, and life-saving rewards 19 23.
| Lottery Tier | Cost | Special Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Low-level | 10,000 points | No additional guarantee stated 28. |
| Mid-level | 5,000,000 points | No additional guarantee stated 28. |
| High-level | 10,000,000 points | Guaranteed a legendary item 28. |
- Reward categories: Cultivation techniques, magic treasures, pills, miscellaneous items, divine abilities, and experience cards. A category could be selected or left random 28.
- Fixed odds: The system stated that lottery probabilities were random and could not be adjusted 28.
- Emergency credit: Activated ten million hidden reserve points for his final draw, repayable within three years. Providing them exhausted its remaining power to the point that it could no longer cross the world barrier 28.
- Host punishment: Electrically punished both his body and soul after he verbally abused it 28.
Combat
Fang Lingtian could fight beyond his personal cultivation realm, though his strongest documented feats depended on lottery rewards 20 22.
- Defeated roughly a dozen Foundation Establishment servants, none of whom lasted a single exchange 20.
- Forced Mystic Pill Realm cultivator Fang Lingcang back more than a dozen steps with a punch 20.
- Killed two Demon Race prodigies using his trump cards, but could not sustain a fight against four Pill Sea Realm attackers 22 23.
Nether Prison Heavenly Venerable Summoning
His final lottery reward summoned an incarnation of Nether Prison Heavenly Venerable at the Early-Stage Void Immortal level for one hour. This was borrowed combat power, not Fang Lingtian’s own cultivation 28 29.
- Released overwhelming immortal pressure across the legacy site and beyond 29.
- Wielded the laws of reincarnation and the netherworld 30.
- Lacked self-awareness but retained fighting instincts 30.
- Failed to withstand Gu Xuanjin’s World-Saving Great Handprint 30.
