"The winner?" Kibito Kai froze, then instinctively turned and followed Old Kai's gaze.

On a distant planet, two rhinoceros beetles were dueling on a tree. One had been flipped over, deciding the outcome of the duel.

"Honestly, it still lost." Seeing the rhinoceros beetle he had favored get flipped over, Old Kai spoke with disappointment in his eyes. He glanced over at Kibito Kai and added, "Say, boy, you didn't get the wrong idea, did you?"

"Um... um... the weather's nice today..." Kibito Kai looked embarrassed and hurriedly changed the subject.

Seeing this, Old Kai narrowed his eyes slightly, making Kibito Kai feel uneasy.

But now, in the vast Sacred World of the Kai, there were only him and Kibito Kai. There were no mortals.
