Obito's Transformation
When the three of them entered the courtyard of the house, they were greeted by a desolate scene.
The trees and plants that were once lush and verdant in Natsuhi have now withered away, leaving only bare branches trembling in the cold wind.
The pond in the courtyard was covered with a thin layer of ice. Through the ice, you could see the fish swimming inside. They seemed to feel the chill of winter, as they swam much slower than usual, making the whole scene look even more desolate than usual.
Before they even reached their doorstep, Koki couldn't contain his joy and shouted, "Mom, I'm home!" His voice was clear and loud, as if it could break through the winter chill.
Hearing Koki's call, Mikoto peeked out from the kitchen, a gentle smile on her face, and softly replied, "You're back."
Koki couldn't wait to kick off her shoes and dash into the warm home like a happy little rabbit.
Meanwhile, Itachi quietly tidied up his brother's shoes and arranged them neatly before slowly walking into the house.
After Koki his hands, Koki couldn't wait to Earth Flow the kotatsu. He gently lifted the quilt and quickly crawled into bed, as if the small kotatsu was his haven from the cold.
He lay comfortably on the quilt, his eyes slightly closed, a look of contentment on his face, and sighed, "This is life."
In the kitchen, Shisui skillfully tied on his pink apron and came in to help Mikoto cook.
Mikoto looked up and immediately saw Shisui standing in front of her, her heart filled with gratitude.
Over the years, Shisui has always lent a helping hand when she needed it most, and has helped her a lot.
Today, Mikoto wants to make a delicious hot pot. Although it's not particularly complicated, having someone help will definitely make it faster.
Shisui moved swiftly and skillfully, chopping and preparing vegetables as if he had done it countless times before.
With his skillful hands, the ingredients were quickly and properly prepared, and in the blink of an eye, everything became orderly. Before long, all the preliminary preparations were completed.
Mikoto carried a steaming hot pot out of the kitchen and saw a heartwarming scene: Koki leaning against the pillows with her eyes closed, her lower body curled up in the warm kotatsu, like a lazy kitten. Itachi sat quietly beside her, his arms tightly wrapped around his brother's arm, his eyes never leaving Koki, filled with longing for his brother.
Looking at her two children, Mikoto couldn't help but smile, a happy smile spreading across her face.
After gently placing the hot pot on the table, Mikoto slowly moved to the brothers' side and said softly, "Alright, kids, the food is ready. Let's eat!"
At that moment, Koki was lying lazily on the floor. Hearing his mother calling him, he lazily opened his eyes and murmured in a spoiled tone, "Mom, I want to lie here a little longer."
Mikoto shook her head helplessly, a doting smile on her face, and turned to set the table.
Seeing this, Shisui quickly stepped forward to help Mikoto set the table.
Before long, the table was filled with all sorts of ingredients and seasonings, a dazzling array that made one's mouth water.
"Come and eat, little ones!" Mikoto called out again.
Koki reluctantly climbed out of the warm kotatsu, and Itachi followed suit.
The two of them went to the dining table together, sat down one after the other, and sat around the table.
Koki stared at the steaming hot pot on the table, her eyes drawn to the tender and juicy slices of meat and the fresh, moist vegetables that exuded an enticing aroma.
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, savoring the aroma of the food, and his face beamed with satisfaction.
He couldn't help but think to himself, "Hot pot is definitely the perfect food for winter!!"
Koki turned to look at Mikoto and asked softly, "Mom, is Dad not coming home again tonight?"
As Mikoto turned on the TV, she replied, "Yes, he's been busy lately."
Koki muttered softly, "This won't do. If things keep going like this, when will Sasuke ever be born?"
Mikoto didn't hear what he said clearly, and asked curiously, "Koki, what are you saying?"
Koki quickly shook her head, a faint blush rising to her cheeks, her eyes slightly evasive. "It's nothing, it's nothing."
Seeing that Mikoto seemed to want to ask more questions, Koki quickly changed the subject, excitedly saying, "Let's eat hot pot quickly, I can't wait!"
"You silly child!" Mikoto said with a smile, playfully scolding him.
At the dining table, Mikoto looked at Shisui and Itachi with a helpless yet slightly worried expression. They were busy taking care of Koki.
Shisui gently picked up a piece of tender, juicy meat with her chopsticks and placed it softly into Koki's bowl.
Meanwhile, Itachi carefully wiped the soup from his brother's lips and then gently poured him a glass of cool water.
Koki was completely absorbed in the feast before her, chewing heartily until her mouth was stuffed full and even her cheeks were covered with delicious food crumbs.
Mikoto harbored a hidden worry.
Since Koki returned home from the hospital three years ago after recovering, his family has doted on him like a precious treasure.
Even the usually serious Fugaku seemed to be frightened by this incident, and showed great kindness and gentleness in front of Koki, no longer as stern as before.
Not to mention the children at home, who almost always grant Koki's requests and take meticulous care of him, even not letting him interfere with the trivial matters of daily life.
Koki probably didn't realize that under this endless pampering, he seemed to be becoming more and more spoiled.
Mikoto couldn't help but worry, wondering Koki, being a ninja, would lose the ability to face difficulties in a world full of danger and challenges.
Thinking of this, Mikoto sighed softly.
Koki looked up at her mother's worried expression, picked up a piece of food with her chopsticks and put it in Mikoto's bowl, saying, "Mom, time to eat."
Looking at her sensible son, Mikoto suddenly felt a sense of relief.
She thought to herself, "Oh well, children and grandchildren have their own lives to live. Why should I worry unnecessarily?"
Mikoto asked, "Kakashi and Obito went on another mission?"
Koki nodded and replied, "This trip was quite far; we went to the Land of Hot Water. I estimate it will be a long time before we return."
Mikoto couldn't help but exclaim, "Who would have thought Obito would be this powerful now?"
Koki wholeheartedly agreed, "Yes, Mom, Obito-nii works really hard."
Koki's thoughts involuntarily drifted back to three years ago.
That day was a sunny day, and it was also the day that Koki was discharged from the hospital and returned home.
Obito gently pushed open the door, his gaze involuntarily falling on the scar on Koki's abdomen. The nightmarish scar caused his heart to ache sharply.
Obito a deep breath, then said earnestly to Koki, "A person only truly becomes stronger when they genuinely want to protect something."
From that day on, Obito seemed to have been reborn.
Every morning, he was the first one up in his family. Before the first rays of sunlight had fully illuminated the earth, Obito had already begun his arduous training in the open field.
As night fell and the entire village was enveloped in the tranquility of the night, the light in Obito's room remained bright. He sat alone at the table, intently studying various Ninjutsu.
At the Ninja Academy, Obito devoted all his time and energy to studying and training. His efforts paid off, and his grades improved rapidly. Soon, Obito graduated from the Ninja Academy with excellent grades and was promoted to Chunin.
Today, in Konoha, Obito's name is as well-known as Kakashi's.
