Carnival Script
"Okay, I understand."
Do you know where the Rover are?
"Okay, thank you, Selina."
Hang up the call.
Kexi stood on the hilltop and put away the terminal.
Jinhsi woke up. This is the only good news today.
If Jinhsi speaks up, his warrant can be lifted. She has seen the fake with her own eyes and can definitely tell the difference between the real and the fake.
The problem is, how do I go see her now?
"Gurgle..."
My stomach is growling.
Forget it, let's fill our stomachs first.
Kexi descended the mountain.
Brant also returned from the sea and was cooking by the campfire. When he saw him, he stood up with his food bowl in hand.
Where did you go?
"I made a phone call. Is dinner ready?"
"Hungry? Come and eat something. The food here isn't as good Montelli, but you'll have to make do." Brant waved to him and then pointed to the bowls and chopsticks over there.
Kexi saw the large iron pot on the campfire.
It seems like it's been years since I've had a meal cooked in a communal pot. I really miss it.
Kexi didn't stand on ceremony, picked up her bowl and chopsticks, filled herself a bowl, then sat down next to Brant, showing off her skills, and said, "I heard you have a performance at the carnival?"
Brant stopped eating, put down the bowl, swallowed the food in his mouth, and then looked at Kexi: "Who told you that?"
"Baldorio."
"Baldorio, we have indeed prepared a performance," Brant whispered in his ear, "But it's to deal with the Fractsidus."
"Oh?" Kexi's curiosity was piqued upon hearing about the Fractsidus. "How so?"
Brant didn't rush to speak, but looked around to make sure no one was approaching before continuing, "The Order and the Fractsidus colluding to ruin the carnival, in order to recreate the disaster of ten years ago and consolidate the Order's rule."
"We have partnered with Miss Carlotta to stop them at the carnival and defuse the crisis through a theatrical performance."
"Don't tell anyone about this."
Kexi was overjoyed upon hearing this. The Fractsidus to cause trouble? That suited him perfectly. He wanted to see how he would kill them; he had been worried about not being able to find them.
"My second sister will be making an appearance too, right?"
Miss Carlotta is one of the main characters.
"What about me? I want to join too! I want to be the main character!" Kexi said excitedly.
"But our roles have already been assigned."
"What? You're looking down on me? Aren't you qualified to revise a script for me?" Kexi stood up and said sternly.
"Kexi, this is a very dangerous thing. We need to consider your safety," Brant earnestly advised Kexi.
He scoffed dismissively, proudly raising his head. "I am now a powerful Resonator. With me in charge, the Fractsidus be nothing but fish in a barrel."
A powerful resonance? Brant almost burst out laughing. Everyone in the entire Ragunna knew that Kexi was just a pervert who could only write love letters.
Kexi immediately noticed this subtle change in expression; how could he not understand what he meant?
He immediately blushed, pointed at him, and said with a gloomy face, "What kind of expression is that! What kind of look is that!"
"Nothing, nothing," Brant waved his hand innocently.
Kexi crossed her arms and snorted coldly, "You look down on me, don't you?"
"No, that's not true." Brant wanted to say something polite, but he immediately lost his composure when he saw what the man pulled out of his pocket.
His eyes lit up as if he had seen some stunningly beautiful woman.
Kexi looked at him smugly and waved the banknotes in her hand, "Can I join now?"
Brant touched the corner of his mouth to make sure he wasn't drooling, coughed lightly, and feigned modesty. "It's not about the money."
"Hmm?" Kexi raised an eyebrow and added another sheet.
"It's really not about the money."
"Will you give it to me or not?" Kexi continued to press the issue.
Brant was practically drooling. He quickly wiped the drool from his mouth, feigning composure, but his eyes never left the banknotes in his hand. His words became respectful, "Young Master Kexi, please... please stop seducing me."
"Wow." Kexi was also surprised that Brant had such backbone.
He pulled out twenty bills and said generously, "Is that enough?"
Brant ultimately couldn't resist the temptation and snatched the banknotes from Kexi's hand in a flash.
"Enough! That's enough! Young Master Kexi, you can act whatever you want."
Brant counted the banknotes in his hand; a total of 300,000 Monnaie. How many shows would they have to put on to earn that much?
The camp's food and supplies are all earned by their Fool's Troupe. Three hundred thousand is enough for them to live comfortably for a year, and they can even buy him the toy that Little Saiban mentioned last time.
Miss Carlotta, please don't blame me, it's just that he gave me too much, I really couldn't help it.
Seeing Brant's reaction, Kexi nodded with satisfaction.
That's more like it; how could anyone possibly refuse money?
It's even less likely for the Fool's Troupe, which is practically starving.
I want to be the main character.
"Okay, no problem. Here's the script; you can change it however you like."
Brant eagerly handed the script to Kexi.
Kexi took a look and asked a question.
"Isn't this a script? Why does it only show the identities and not the lines?"
Brant explained, "Because the performances are full of uncertainty, aside from the company's regular shows, everyone improvises, and there's only a general story direction."
"Oh."
Kexi turned to the page about Carlotta and the Rover to see their character settings.
"The Hero Who Challenges the Demon King?"
Kexi only thought about it for a moment before a brilliant prank idea popped into her head.
Hehehe.
"I know what role I'm going to play?"
"What is it?" Brant asked curiously.
"I want to be the Demon King's prince."
"Huh?!" Brant almost dropped his jaw in shock. "The Demon King is from the Fractsidus! Young Master Kexi, you must be joking!"
"I'm serious." Kexi said earnestly.
Just say that when the time comes.
He gave a wicked grin.
"The Demon King's minions were utterly defeated, and the enraged prince came out to stop the hero. However, he was immediately captivated by the hero's beauty and heroic spirit, and proposed to her in public, promising that if she married him, he would help her overthrow the Demon King's rule. The hero, forced by circumstances, had no choice but to agree."
After hearing this, Brant was almost completely dumbfounded. "This is too dramatic, and is this really okay? Carlotta is your sister."
"Ignore me, just do as I say. Besides, this is all part of the drama." Kexi waved his hand to stop him from continuing.
"But..."
Before Brant could say anything more, Kexi pulled out a wad of cash and stuffed it into his mouth.
"Alright! Whatever Young Master says."
Kexi nodded in satisfaction.
