The sports meet and school festival (2)
"Senior Xiao Ling, this doll looks so strange. It's supposed to be a bird, but it looks like a big fat chicken," Sigrika complained to Xiao Ling after kneading the Peroro doll in her hand for a while.
"Although I don't know what the connection is between this thing and birds, it is a bird in the setting," Xiao Ling said with a helpless shrug.
Xiao Ling and his group left the shooting booth with their bags full, and now they were looking for the next booth that offered a lot of fun.
"Just like Chirpuff and the Imperial Firn are completely unrelated, but some people always think they are juveniles and adults."
"Uh... what you said makes a lot of sense..." Sigrika suddenly understood.
As a member of the Featherfly Association, she pays special attention to such matters. Every time she hears someone confuse Chirpuff with Imperial Firn, she has to correct them seriously. She even emphasizes in her Feixin signature that Chirpuff is not Imperial Firn's juvenile form.
"Speaking of which, senior, are you really not planning to give this bear plush toy to Yaya yourself?"
"Wasn't it you who wanted to deliver it? I was just helping you out," Xiao Ling grinned. "Besides, we've been living under the same roof for so long, it doesn't matter who delivers it, right?"
"Hmm... that seems so. Thank you, Senior Xiao Ling!" Sigrika said with a bright smile, her eyes narrowed.
"Hey! Xixi, look! There's a ring toss game over there, lots of prizes!" Aemeath's eyes lit up when she spotted the ring toss stall not far away.
"Let me see... Hmm! It doesn't look too difficult. I was just thinking of bringing some prizes for my other friends too!" Sigrika nodded, then asked her parents, "Mom and Dad, are you coming with us?"
"You two go ahead, Sigrika. I have some things to discuss with your father and this senior." Xixi's mother replied gently to Sigrika, while also giving Xiao Ling a warm smile.
Hajiling: Do I have to meet the parents too? Kids, that's not funny.
After watching Sigrika and Aemeath go to the ring toss game, Xixi's mother cast a gentle yet scrutinizing gaze at Xiao Ling, while Xixi's father made no attempt to hide his scrutiny of him.
Xiao Ling was startled by those two gentle yet sharp gazes, and her back straightened slightly in fright.
He now understood how Yaya felt when she first met her mother.
The Rover watched as Hajiling was scrutinized by Sigrika's parents like a greenhorn, and couldn't help but smirk.
Rover: Ah, enjoying the gossip is such a wonderful thing!
"You must be Sigrika's senior, I've heard that child mention you often." Xixi's mother withdrew her scrutinizing gaze and smiled gently. "My daughter has been well taken care of by you these past few days, I'm extremely grateful."
"No need for that, Sigrika has helped me a lot too. We've helped each other out," Xiao Ling said with a sheepish smile, scratching his head.
"I'm glad I didn't cause you too much trouble," Xixi's mother smiled. "By the way, let me introduce myself. I'm Angelica, and this is my husband..."
"Sigma, you can just call me Uncle Sig," Sigma said with a grin, looking exceptionally kind and approachable.
"Haha... Hello, Uncle Sig..."
Xiao Ling only hoped that Uncle Sig wouldn't get angry and pull out his Little Punishment to turn into a Nightmare Knight and chop him up.
"My name is Xiao Ling, and this lady next to me is Miss Rover." Xiao Ling also introduced herself to the Female Rover next to her.
The Rover gave a polite, standard smile and nodded slightly.
"You two look quite alike, could you be siblings..." Angelica stroked her chin, scrutinizing Xiao Ling and the Rover.
"They're siblings!" the Rover immediately blurted out, seizing the initiative.
"Oh, is that so?"
"In terms of seniority, she is indeed older than me, so she is the older sister and I am the younger brother." Xiao Ling didn't intend to argue with her on this matter, so he simply went along with what she said.
After the two pairs of guardians introduced themselves, Angelica suggested that they move to another place to continue their conversation.
"This is ultimately a children's paradise, not a place for adults to talk about things between them," Angelica said with a smile. "Xiao Ling should be quite familiar with this school, right?"
"You're looking for a quiet place to chat, right? I'm good at that. Just follow me." Xiao Ling snapped her fingers.
So, while Aemeath and Sigrika were engrossed in the ring toss game and completely unaware, Xiao Ling and his group had quietly moved to a different location.
"After what happened in the dark side of the academy, that child poured out her heart," Angelica's voice was gentle yet tender. "She told me that she always felt she wasn't good enough and had thought about giving up many times, but because you told her that it was okay to fail, she was able to overcome that dark side of herself."
"She's always been a cheerful child, never complaining to her family. It was only then that I realized she had so many things bottled up inside, things that had left her feeling exhausted more than once."
In Xiao Ling's secret base, the four of them sat in a circle, while the other three listened silently to Angelica's story.
"That night, my daughter and I had a real talk," Angelica smiled. "I told her that no matter how outstanding she is, she will always be my one and only daughter."
"It is Sigrika's honor to have a mother like you," Xiao Ling said with a smile and a nod.
"Having a senior like you is a blessing for Xixi," Angelica affirmed to Xiao Ling.
"Why are you two suddenly starting to flatter each other?" Sigma interjected inappropriately.
Then Sigma got a finger flick from his own wife.
"I was expressing my sincere gratitude to the kind person who gave my daughter advice, how did it become mutual flattery in your mouth?"
"Hehe." Sigma chuckled honestly and simply.
"Speaking of which, Uncle Sig, didn't you know anything about this?" the Rover asked.
"I only found out about two weeks after the incident ended, because I was exploring the ice field the whole time, so I could only see them once every month or two." Sigma felt a little guilty when he mentioned it.
"When I found out about this, I immediately took the treasures I had found on the ice field and rushed back to Luminous Forest. While my daughter was home on Sunday, I cooked her a table full of her favorite dishes to treat her."
"Uncle Sig is also a very good and responsible father," Xiao Ling praised.
"Haha, I just did what I should do as a father," Sigma laughed heartily. "So, Xiao boy, you'd better not let my girl suffer, or else..."
Sigma waved his fist in front of Xiao Ling, making his meaning clear. "If you bully my daughter, I'll beat you up."
Xiao Ling remained silent, only offering an awkward yet polite smile in response.
"Speaking of which, how did you two manage to travel through time?" the Rover asked the couple about the reason for their unexpected time travel.
"I don't know, we were flashed by a blinding white light and woke up in this strange place." Sigma shook his head. "Principal Roccia took us in and told us that Sigrika is safe with Xiao, which put our minds at ease."
Rover: Where is safety?
"In short, it's a wonderful thing that your family can be reunited," Xiao Ling said with a smile.
"I think so too," Angelica nodded and smiled.
Just then, all four of them received calls from their own children on their phones.
"It seems this pleasant conversation must come to a temporary end," Angelica said with a kind smile.
"I think so," Xiao Ling replied with a gentle smile.
As they were about to part, Angelica called out to Xiao Ling again.
"What's wrong, ma'am?" Xiao Ling asked Angelica.
"Take good care of Sigrika; she seems to like you a lot," Angelica's gentle voice rang out. "If my precious daughter suffers any mistreatment at your place..."
Angelica silent, but her gentle smile gradually turned cold.
"Don't worry! Don't worry, ma'am! I won't let Little Orange be sad! I promise!" Xiao Ling swore, pointing her fingers together.
Angelica saw Xiao Ling's serious expression.
That would be best.
