Background / History

Origin and the Soul Beast Clan

Gu Yuena emerged as the Silver Dragon King when the Dragon God split into two beings. She inherited creation, elemental control, and the Dragon God’s wisdom, while the Golden Dragon King embodied his destructive aspect. A later revelation establishes that the Dragon God’s death, the Golden Dragon King’s imprisonment, and her permitted escape were part of a pact involving Xu Xingyu’s former self and the Five Great God Kings 79 551 608.

The Soul Beasts placed their hopes for recovery upon her from the beginning. Injured and confined to a lower realm lacking Immortal Spirit Qi, she could recover only Second-Level God combat strength. She regarded challenging the Divine Realm alone as unrealistic, particularly while the Golden Dragon King remained sealed away 283.

Xu Xingyu and the Spirit Contract Pagoda

Gu Yuena rescued Xu Xingyu and revealed that his life on Blue Star had not been his first: he was the reincarnated Starry Dragon Emperor, the Dragon God’s son. His return gave her renewed hope for the Soul Beast Clan’s future 2 283.

As Spirit Contract Pagoda master, she forcibly suppressed factions demanding access to Soul Spirit technology. Her strength led Mu En to suspect that she had already become a god, despite the continent treating her as the “Silver Dragon Douluo” 18 19.

Initially, she largely executed Xu Xingyu’s plans. After Xu Yanxue challenged her doubts about her own worth, Gu Yuena began studying human society and administration through the pagoda. She developed independent judgment, proposed improvements, and identified weaknesses in Xu Xingyu’s plans 88.

Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Using information from Da Ming and Er Ming together with the Star Soul Pearl, Gu Yuena and Xu Xingyu identified Tang San’s formation around the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. She dismantled its restrictions without damaging the treasure land, allowing them to prepare to recover the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings’ remains 77.

While watching over Xu Xingyu in the spring, she discovered the Lovesick Heartbreak Red. The flower accepted her after she reaffirmed that she would follow him out of love rather than obligation or self-interest. When his presence beneath the spring became erratic, she immediately entered the water to find him 88.

She also relocated the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well into the Soul Spirit Realm 90.

Confrontation with the Holy Spirit Cult

At Shrek City, Gu Yuena shattered Ye Xishui’s Rakshasa scythe with one hand and attacked with a seven-element dragon spear. Long Xiaoyao intercepted the spear and died protecting Ye Xishui. Gu Yuena then ordered Ye Xishui to leave or die, forcing the Holy Spirit Cult’s withdrawal 238.

The incident became a major deterrent against factions seeking Dragon Valley’s treasures. Her reputation, alongside the Spirit Contract Pagoda’s backing, caused many claimants to abandon their ambitions 310.

Dragon Valley and the Origin Primordial Realm

Gu Yuena initially found Dragon Valley sealed against her, despite her bloodline. After its seal opened, the realm recognized her as the Silver Dragon King and admitted her. Inside, she discovered a flourishing sanctuary rather than the devastated graveyard she expected 259 291 292.

There she met the Time Dragon King’s inheritor, later identified as Ya Lin’er. Their discussions exposed connections between Dragon Valley’s transformation, Xu Xingyu’s future actions, and the Dragon God Trial. Gu Yuena withheld those details from Xu Xingyu because revealing them prematurely would interfere with the trial 293 294 295 491.

During Xu Xingyu’s dangerous cultivation in the Origin Primordial Realm, she considered extracting him even at immense cost to the continent and the Star Lord. His eventual return brought an emotional reunion. She subsequently helped stabilize Dragon Valley’s spatial connection to the Douluo Continent 283 331.

Sun Moon Empire Investigation

Gu Yuena accompanied Xu Xingyu in investigating suspected betrayal within the Spirit Contract Pagoda’s Sun Moon branch, concealed Holy Spirit Cult activities, and the Evil Emperor’s disappearance. Their inquiry led them into a destruction-filled secret realm containing the Space Dragon King’s animated remains 502 512 513 526 527.

Unable to defeat the bone dragon conventionally or escape through space, she initiated a Martial Soul Fusion with Xu Xingyu. The fusion produced First-Level God power, though his body could sustain it only briefly 528.

The pair later survived Heaven and Earth Love Valley’s trials, killed the God of Love, and gained control of the valley. After defeating Tang Hao and Ah Yin, Gu Yuena stripped Ah Yin’s Blue Silver Emperor Bloodline and transformed her remains into a loyal whip 556.

Pregnancy and the Final Trials

Gu Yuena became pregnant with Xu Xingyu’s child, aided by the Lovesick Heartbreak Red and her ability to withstand his Dragon God Bloodline. During his Seventh Trial, she helped gather the seven basic elements and supplied creation power for his internal elemental storm 570 571.

Despite her pregnancy, she joined the battle against the Abyss. She destroyed the Holy Demonic Skycrack Dragon by severing its connections to four Abyss Planes, although a black hole stole its four Plane Seeds before she could collect them. She and Gu Qiuxi then supported Xu Xingyu’s attack against the Abyssal Sage King 592 594 596.

She waited through Xu Xingyu’s final Dragon God Trial and reunited with him before laying their egg. By the following chapter, her own cultivation had reached peak First-Level God 601 624 625.

Appearance

Personality

Gu Yuena is proud of her identity and unwilling to remain dependent on Xu Xingyu’s strength. Her fear of becoming irrelevant in his future battles motivates her pursuit of a replacement godhead; even a guaranteed First-Level God position does not satisfy her ambitions 248 594.

Her leadership becomes more measured as she learns human institutions. Although she would sometimes prefer to crush troublemakers through force, she restrains herself and handles disputes through administration, assisted by Jiang Nannan and Xu Jiujiu. She also openly recognizes humanity’s creativity and the Soul Beast Clan’s weaknesses in developing new technology 394 500.

With Xu Xingyu, she is affectionate, playful, possessive, and openly jealous. She accepts his other relationships but asks to remain the most important person in his heart. Her rivalry with the other women can involve teasing, bargaining, or claiming his time, yet she also makes room for them and urges them to become partners capable of sharing his burdens 77 97 179 186 502.

Her confidence in Xu Xingyu allows her to refrain from interrupting dangerous cultivation, but the possibility of losing him can overwhelm her broader responsibilities. During his thirteen-element storm, she declares that, if he dies, she will follow him after laying their child’s egg 283 351 571.
