The Fan Reappears
Wang Xingyu's voice wasn't loud, but the referee heard it.
The game is paused.
The Shrek and Blazing Fire Academy members rushed onto the arena almost simultaneously. Wang Xingyu unleashed his Blue Silver Grass, and the emerald green light, Willow Shade Blessing, landed on Tang San's back. Although the charred wounds had not fully healed, Tang San's complexion had improved significantly.
Xiao Wu was the first to help Tang San up, her brows furrowed tightly. Tang San shook his head and said he was fine.
Across from them, Huo Wushuang helped Huo Wu to her feet. Huo Wu looked at Tang San's retreating figure, remained silent for a moment, then raised her hand to signal, "Blazing Fire Academy concedes defeat."
The referee raised his right arm. "Shrek Academy wins!"
Inside the tent, Tang San sat on the edge of the bed, with Xiao Wu standing in front of him, her arms crossed over her chest, her expression still somewhat relaxed. Tang San reiterated that he was truly alright— Xingyu's Fourth Soul Skill had almost completely healed his injuries.
"Alright," Xiao Wu's tone softened slightly, but she immediately followed up with, "Then why did you take the blame for her?"
Wang Xingyu chimed in from the side, "Maybe the Little San felt it wasn't right to push a girl to this point. Besides, Little San must have calculated the damage she would cause; she only did it because she could handle it."
"To what extent?" Xiao Wu raised her voice again, her gaze shifting from Tang San to Wang Xingyu's face.
Wang Xingyu opened his mouth, then felt a chill run down his spine. Could it be that he had really been influenced by Flender?
He immediately changed his tune, switching his tone seamlessly. "Exactly— Little San, use your trump cards when you need to! You're making Xiao Wu and me worry too much!" He then moved towards the tent's exit, tossing out a comment as he went, "Xiao Wu, you should teach him a lesson, really."
The curtain was lifted, and the person was already out. From inside the tent behind him, he could faintly hear Xiao Wu continuing to ask questions. Wang Xingyu didn't turn around, quickening his pace.
The next day, Tang San showed no signs of injury.
Shrek continued their winning streak in the promotion matches. With the Grandmaster's accurate attribute counter analysis and the team's strength far exceeding that of their peers, Zhu Zhuqing, Tang San, Ma Hongjun, Xiao Wu took turns defeating seven opponents at once.
Dai Mubai sat in the stands, watching his teammates reap defeat after defeat on the ring, humming an unknown tune. The melancholy of that day returned.
That day, it was Ma Hongjun's turn to fight against the Plant Academy. The first six were no challenge at all; wherever the Phoenix Fire Line hit, the opponents fell. Until the seventh one—the captain of the Plant Academy — Ma Hongjun opened his mouth and shot a line of fire at the opponent. Surprisingly, the opponent's thorny vines did not burn; instead, a layer of red light appeared on their surface.
"What a pity, my Scarlet Flame Thorn are fire resistant." The opposing captain's tone carried a hint of confidence.
In the stands, Dai Mubai gestured towards Wang Xingyu Tang San with his lip. "How about the three of you form a team specifically to counter fire?"
Oscar nodded. "I think it's a good idea."
Xiao Wu said in a strange tone, "This is just too silly."
On the arena, unfortunately, the Scarlet Flame Thorn could only withstand ordinary flames. Ma Hongjun's Phoenix Fire Line, on the other hand, was the top-tier Beast Martial Soul, the Evil Fire Phoenix, without the Evil Fire version.
Before long, the Scarlet Flame Thorn began to char and curl, and the opposing captain was grazed on the shoulder by a line of fire and fell to the ground.
Ma Hongjun returned to the stands, plopped down, crossed his legs, and said smugly, "A seven-game winning streak was awesome! Wasn't I cool today?"
Everyone gave a thumbs-up in perfect unison. Oscar said, "Actually, I think it's just so-so." Dai Mubai immediately chimed in, "Me too, me too."
Just then, a figure walked to the edge of the stands. Huo Wu. She didn't look at anyone else, her gaze landing directly on Tang San: "Tang San."
Dai Mubai stood up. "Miss Huo Wu, is there something you need?"
Huo Wu didn't reply, her tone direct. "Tang San, I'd like to talk to you alone. Is that alright?"
Before Xiao Wu could stop him, Wang Xingyu spoke up, "It's alright, Little San can go."
Tang San glanced at Wang Xingyu, nodded, and followed Huo Wu.
Xiao Wu turned and glared at Wang Xingyu, her expression clearly saying, "You'd better give me an explanation." But when she saw the expression on Wang Xingyu's face, her brows furrowed even more. "Xingyu, it's one thing for you to let your Little San go—but why are you smiling so strangely again?"
Wang Xingyu wiped his face and said seriously, "Really?" Then he lowered his voice, "Don't you trust the Little San? Besides, we can't be on guard all the time. Let the Little San go now, we can secretly follow her."
Ma Hongjun leaned closer, a lewd smile creeping across his face, and nudged Wang Xingyu with his elbow. "You're the worst."
Oscar nodded, his face full of righteous indignation. "Xiao Wu, that's a good idea."
Xiao Wu paused for a moment, then stood up, her voice righteous and firm. "Sigh, how could anyone do such a thing?"
A moment later, the two tiptoed and stealthily followed.
They followed them all the way to a grove of trees. Huo Wu and Tang San stopped in the middle of a clearing, while Xiao Wu and Wang Xingyu went around to the back of a large tree.
As soon as he crouched down, Wang Xingyu noticed that someone was already crouching behind the tree—wearing a black mask, a light blue team uniform, and a wolf's head embroidered on the right shoulder.
"Prince of Lanling, you came too?" Wang Xingyu asked in a low voice.
Feng Xiaotian was startled, turned around and saw the two of them, breathed a sigh of relief, and also lowered his voice. "I was looking for Huo Wu, what are you two doing here?"
Xiao Wu raised her index finger to shush, her eyes already fixed on the open space.
On the open ground, Huo Wu stood in front of Tang San, her tone much gentler than on the arena, but her question was direct, "Why did you block the attack for me? That was what I was going to use to attack you."
Tang San's voice was calm. "This is just a competition. We are opponents, but not enemies. When you locked me down with the intention of taking me down with you, I may have indeed pushed you too hard. Besides, I can withstand that kind of damage."
Huo Wu lowered her head, her voice softening slightly. "Actually, seeing so many of you take on seven opponents at once, I don't think it's that hard to believe anymore. You guys are indeed very strong."
"Since there's nothing else, I'll be going now." Tang San said and turned around.
"Tang San!" Huo Wu rushed forward, but lost her footing and stumbled forward.
Tang San reacted quickly, turning around and reaching out to support Huo Wu's shoulder. In that instant, Huo Wu took the opportunity to hug Tang San Tang San, pressing her lips to his cheek.
Then I kissed a fan.
The two characters "Tang Sect" on the fan were directly facing her lips.
Wang Xingyu, holding a fan, said in a light tone, "Miss Little San, Huo Wu a mistress is one thing, but kissing a fan is the same. By the way, would you like a red fan? I can give you one."
Tang San was taken aback. "Why are you here?"
Huo Wu's face turned as red as her hair. She took a step back, stammered, and couldn't say a word before turning and running away.
Feng Xiaotian and Xiao Wu also emerged from behind the tree. Feng Xiaotian gave Wang Xingyu a thumbs up, said, "Dude, you're awesome! You're even faster than me!" and then took off running after Huo Wu.
As Wang Xingyu admired the fan, he said, "This is called prediction."
