History
Huang Shan’s Trap
The Black Wolf Soul Hunting Team encountered the Fire Flame Lion King during an assignment to obtain a complete Fire Flame Lion pelt for six hundred Gold Soul Coins. Huang Shan deliberately led the team into its territory after secretly applying a substance that drove Fire Flame Lions into a frenzy against its targets. Su Tianyu, who had joined under the name Tang San, avoided being touched by Huang Shan and escaped into hiding before the confrontation 22 23.
Battle with Gu San and Zhang Erjiang
Gu San and Zhang Erjiang faced the lion together, but their First Soul Skills failed to penetrate its fiery shield. The beast then created a flame clone, forcing Zhang Erjiang to destroy it with Arrow of Splitting while Gu San struggled against the original 24.
With both men nearly out of Soul Power, Gu San used Soul-Shocking Blood Saber and Zhang Erjiang fired another Arrow of Splitting. Their combined attack broke the shield and inflicted a deep slash and several puncture wounds. Enraged, the lion stopped toying with them, accelerated sharply, and crushed Gu San’s head with a paw. It subsequently killed Zhang Erjiang with a bite and consumed his body 24 25.
Death and Recovery of Its Remains
The lion pursued Huang Shan next, but blood loss steadily slowed it until it could barely stand. Huang Shan exploited its weakened condition and struck it twice with Turtle Shell Shock. The second attack caused fatal internal damage, and a purple Thousand-Year Soul Ring formed above its corpse 25.
While skinning the beast, Huang Shan discovered a glowing Soul Bone in its left leg. Su Tianyu ambushed and killed him, then claimed the Soul Bone and removed the lion’s entire hide 25 26.
Appearance
The Fire Flame Lion King was a massive lion-like beast with a flame-like mane and a fang-filled maw 22.
- Size: Two meters tall at the shoulder and more than four meters long 22.
- Eyes: Fierce vertical pupils; its eyes were described as the size of small bowls 22 24.
- Flames: Flames covering its body brightened when it circulated Soul Power to defend against a dangerous attack 24.
Abilities & Skills
Fiery Shield
The lion could surround its body with a fiery red defensive shield 24.
- Completely blocked Gu San’s Slaughtering Baleful Saber Qi and Zhang Erjiang’s Wind-Piercing Arrow 24.
- Was breached by Gu San’s Third Soul Skill, allowing the following arrows to wound the lion 24.
Flame Clone
An innate skill of the Fire Flame Lion clan allowed the king to separate a flame clone from its body 24.
- The clone attacked independently while the original continued fighting 24.
- Zhang Erjiang’s Arrow of Splitting pierced its chest in five places; Soul Power escaped through the holes until the clone dissipated 24.
Physical Strength and Speed
The lion’s claws, jaws, and charging speed made it dangerous even after its shield was broken 24 25.
- Killed Gu San with a single downward paw strike and crushed Zhang Erjiang’s head with one bite 24 25.
- Charged roughly twice as fast after being wounded as it had while toying with its opponents 24.
- Survived Huang Shan’s first Turtle Shell Shock despite severe blood loss, but died after the second 25.
- Its untreated wounds continued bleeding during its pursuit of Huang Shan, eventually leaving it unable to stand securely 25.
Soul Ring & Remains
| Remnant | Description and Outcome |
|---|---|
| Thousand-Year Soul Ring | A purple Soul Ring formed about one meter above the corpse after Huang Shan killed it 25. |
| Left Leg Soul Bone | Crystalline and translucent, with multicolored energy flowing inside. It floated ten centimeters above the lion’s left leg and finished transforming into the shape of a human left leg bone in less than three minutes. Su Tianyu claimed it 25 26. |
| Hide | Removed intact by Su Tianyu. It constantly emitted warmth and could serve as bedding or a mat that kept away mosquitoes, insects, and the cold 26. |
| Estimated material value | Huang Shan valued the beast at 1,500 Gold Soul Coins, with its pelt worth the most, followed by its meat and bones. He made this estimate before discovering the Soul Bone 25. |
