Background / History

Childhood and Academy Training

Shui Bing'er's mother raised her to be gentle, considerate, and understanding. After her Martial Soul awakened, her mother placed strong expectations on her becoming a powerful Soul Master. Her days revolved around cultivation and practical Soul Fighting training with academy teachers, leaving little room for the carefree childhood her younger sister enjoyed 44.

Soul-Hunting Expedition

While visiting Star Dou Town with Shui Yue'er, three senior schoolmates, and their teacher, Bing'er first encountered Su Tianyu. She was momentarily transfixed by his appearance, then lowered her head in embarrassment and hurried her sister back to their group, reminding her that they would obtain Soul Rings the following day 35.

The group's Soul Ring hunt succeeded, but a twenty-thousand-year-old Violent Gold Bear intercepted them on their return journey. Their teacher stayed behind to hold it off while the five students escaped. Bing'er led the retreat, explaining to Yue'er that remaining would only burden their teacher and waste the chance she had given them 40 42.

A four-thousand-year-old Pink Fox subsequently blocked their escape. Bing'er spotted its approach and warned the others to prepare. Their combined ice attacks briefly restrained it, but the beast broke free, withstood their follow-up attacks, and released its dangerous mist. Su Tianyu intervened, diverted the mist, and killed the fox 41 42.

When Su Tianyu reported that their teacher had died, Bing'er broke down with the other students. His encouragement to cultivate and protect their loved ones helped her recover her resolve; she declared that she wanted the strength to protect her family and friends 42.

Journey Out and Flower Valley

Su Tianyu escorted the students out of the forest over five days. Bing'er initially resisted being carried on his back out of embarrassment, but accepted his help as exhaustion accumulated. Her senior schoolmates later teased her about the change of heart 43.

At their flower-valley campsite, she confided in Su Tianyu about her demanding upbringing and loneliness. He carried her approximately three hundred meters into the night sky, where she admired the stars and kissed his cheek. The following morning, she watched reluctantly as he departed Star Dou Town 44.

Personality

Bing'er is reserved but attentive to others. During the forest escape, she keeps watch over the surroundings, recognizes the danger posed by the Pink Fox, and cautions Yue'er against celebrating before the threat has passed. She continues to check on her sister's condition even when exhausted herself 40 41 43.

Her protective instincts also make her a strict older sister: she reprimands Yue'er for unruly behavior and poor table manners, although she softens when Su Tianyu asks her to be more tolerant. In private, she admits that constantly suppressing her feelings has left her unhappy. Her growing trust in Su Tianyu allows her to express affection more openly 43 44.
