The Divine Flame Man was growing more anxious. So much time had passed, yet there was still no movement from Lei Chong. After a moment's thought, he sent a spiritual body of his own through the gate of light.
Lei Chong did not stop him. He had already promised Heavenly Desolation that once his battle with the man was over, he would not start another fight lightly.
The Divine Flame Man naturally knew this too, which was why he dared to act so boldly.
Lei Chong watched everything in silence. It was only one more person investigating. If there really was some opportunity inside, his spiritual body could still seize it.
As time passed, cultivators from the Medicine Capital kept arriving. The earlier confrontation between the two supreme treasures had left their bodies trembling.
Now that everything had long since settled down, they braved their fear and came.
They stood outside Divine Medicine Valley, watching what was happening inside.
Soon, they saw it clearly. Before the boulder was a mass of flame, like a dancing True Phoenix undergoing rebirth in the fire.
The people who came were from all sorts of backgrounds. Some belonged to the various factions of the Medicine Capital, while others came from other factions and had been stationed here as hidden agents.
Some hurried back to report what had happened to their sects. They all had special means of ensuring the news would be delivered quickly.
Almost at the same time, the major factions across the Desolate Region were thrown into an uproar.
Beings who had been in seclusion emerged from their retreats one after another.
They were among the strongest fighters in the Desolate Region, and no one knew how many years had passed since they had last appeared.
Hum!
A teleportation array in the Medicine Capital lit up, and several figures appeared. At their head was a woman whose face was covered by a sheer veil, leaving only a pair of misty eyes visible. A layer of haze veiled them, stirring the hearts of those who saw her.
The woman was Yue Chan. Several people followed her, including an old woman leaning on a cane.
The old woman's presence was terrifying. She had already reached the Venerable Realm.
As for the others, they too had reached the Venerable Realm, and their presences were no weaker than the old woman's. They completely intimidated the cultivators of the Medicine Capital.
Aside from the occasion a month ago, so many Venerables had never come to the Medicine Capital.
The next moment, the teleportation array lit up again, and several more figures appeared. Their leader was also a woman, dressed in a long, close-fitting black gown that outlined her perfect figure.
The newcomer was the Witch, followed by members of the Heaven Severing Sect.
The two women normally fought whenever they met, but neither had time for that now. Taking their followers with them, they hurried toward Divine Medicine Valley.
After the two groups left, the teleportation array lit up once more.
These people's vitality was exceptionally terrifying, no weaker than that of the previous groups.
On the boulder in Divine Medicine Valley, Lei Chong was still sensing his spiritual body.
His spiritual body had not died; it was still alive beneath the vortex.
The Divine Flame Man, on the other hand, had a face as black as the bottom of a pot. His spiritual body had died, and he had just sent another one in.
As for what exactly had happened inside, he had no way of finding out.
Whoosh!
Several divine rainbows streaked across the sky. Figures riding them descended outside Divine Medicine Valley.
Lei Chong and the Divine Flame Man turned their heads at the same time. The newcomers' presences were so powerful that they had to take them seriously.
"Yue Chan, you finally came! I told you I would catch you. I never expected you to deliver yourself to my door," the Divine Flame Man said excitedly.
Yue Chan frowned, unwilling to pay him any attention.
Back when they were in the Upper Realm, this man had constantly pestered her.
"Hmph." Granny Xihua snorted coldly and slowly stepped forward, placing herself in front of Yue Chan.
"Old thing, you're too ugly. Don't foul my eyes," the Divine Flame Man said, stopping in his tracks, his eyes full of contempt.
"Insolent brat! This old woman will teach you a lesson today." Granny Xihua's face was covered in wrinkles, but her presence was exceptionally terrifying.
"Granny, calm your anger for now. Don't trade barbs with him. The opportunity here is more important," Yue Chan said. Her voice was gentle, making those who heard it feel as though they were bathed in a spring breeze.
She did not want to waste time and only wished to uncover the truth as quickly as possible. If there really was a True Phoenix here, she would have to make thorough preparations.
"Yes, young miss," Granny Xihua replied quietly.
The Witch quickly swept her gaze across Divine Medicine Valley, then fixed it on Lei Chong. "Little brother, how long have you been here?"
Light flowed in her eyes. Clearly, she had already activated her Heavenly Eye.
She fixed her Heavenly Eye on Lei Chong. She would be able to tell at a glance whether he was lying.
Hearing the Witch's question, the newcomers all looked over.
Yue Chan was no exception. Her misty eyes were fixed on Lei Chong.
"Well..." Lei Chong did not know how to answer.
He had been here for two days. If he said so, these people would surely realize he had been watching this place for a long time.
"Mm, I climbed onto this boulder less than an hour ago. I haven't made any major discoveries yet, so I still need you to investigate."
The Witch leaped onto the boulder and opened her Heavenly Eye to investigate.
But when it came to the Heavenly Eye, she was still far inferior to Lei Chong. Even Lei Chong could not see through what lay below, so naturally, she had even less chance of doing so.
Whoosh!
Several more divine rainbows streaked across the sky and descended beside them.
Among them was a golden-haired man with piercing, intimidating eyes. He quickly swept his gaze over Divine Medicine Valley and fixed it on the flames within.
The blaze looked so much like a True Phoenix that his breathing instantly quickened.
His true form was a Golden-Winged Great Peng. If he obtained the True Phoenix inheritance, his strength would surely advance by leaps and bounds, and he might even be able to rule the Desolate Region.
Jin Lie swept his piercing gaze over the three people on the boulder.
He first fixed his eyes on the Witch. Her beauty was so unworldly that his breathing quickened, and he was somewhat reluctant to look away.
The sight of such a beauty stirred unusual feelings in his heart. He truly did not want to offend her and leave her with a poor impression of him.
He then fixed his gaze on the Divine Flame Man and glanced at the fragment of the Reincarnation Disk.
This man was not to be trifled with. The disk above his head was terrifying.
Finally, he turned and fixed his eyes on Lei Chong, who looked like the most ordinary of the three.
If he truly wanted to know something, pressing this person for answers was the best way.
With that thought, Jin Lie stepped forward.
Whoosh!
Another sound of rushing air rang out as several Demon Spiders entered Divine Medicine Valley.
They had all taken human form, and their presences were terrifying enough to make people tremble.
The green-haired man at their head in particular seemed to have reached the Divine Being Realm. He was an ancestor of the Demon Spider lineage who had not appeared in the world for a long time.
Jin Lie's gaze hardened as a sense of pressure rose from the bottom of his heart. He was at the Late Venerable Realm, and naturally did not dare to be careless in the face of a Divine Being.
"Young man, how long have you been here? What's in the valley?" Jin Lie released a wave of pressure and demanded an answer in a cold voice.
Lei Chong merely glanced at him. The man's eyes were full of contempt. This was not an ordinary question, but an attempt to force answers out of him.
"None of your fucking business." Lei Chong's face darkened. He did not mind making this man his first target to intimidate those harboring ill intentions.
"Heh, then I'll probe your divine sense." Jin Lie's eyes instantly turned cold.
Boom!
But before he could make a move, a huge hand reached out. Lei Chong had taken the initiative, striking to suppress Jin Lie.
