Arc 2The Aoqi Plane Expedition

Rog rose to become Lord of Tianhua Prefecture, then joined an expedition to the Aoqi Plane to seek Sovereign’s Might and test his strength. As he advanced his Lightning Law, Gray’s actions against the Azure Dragon Clan left him and Connie hoping Rog would protect them.

  • Nuoti attacked the Shadow Tribe with Rog and Dimont, but Aiken killed him before he could finish off the two Fiends.
  • Rog followed Aiken’s advice to pursue the Fusion Law, developed his Lightning Law, and killed Li Wei and Anna after they attacked his caravan on Fulaite’s orders.
  • Rog passed the Seven-Star Fiend assessment by killing Yiven Romison, earned the title Clouddark Fiend, and later killed Prefect Makenrich to become Lord of Tianhua Prefecture.
  • Rog completed his mastery of the Lightning mysteries, then visited Aiken, who offered three drops of Sovereign’s Might in exchange for Rog taking Aiken’s younger relatives to the Aoqi Plane.
  • Rog led Haidisi, Colin, and Gu Rory into the expedition, where Haidisi’s group fought Bainite’s squad and Rog sparred with Bainite before continuing to meet other commanders and cultivate.
  • After a hundred years of secluded cultivation, Rog prepared to fuse five profound mysteries, while Gray became a Highgod but failed to fuse a fourth mystery.
  • Gray killed Aiwen after Aiwen tried to seize Connie, sacrificed his Fire Divine Clone to help Connie and the others escape, and relied on Domir’s hope that Rog would protect them in Tianhua Prefecture.

Ch. 27Nuoti Taylesi

Rog and Dimont arrived at the One-Eyed Tribe to help Nuoti Taylesi in a battle scheduled for two months later. Meanwhile, Nuoti’s rivals planned to wait until the two Fiends left, unaware that Nuoti intended to use a mysterious pot to refine Sovereign’s Might and kill them.

  • Rog and Dimont reached the One-Eyed Tribe after nearly a year of travel and met its chief, Nuoti Taylesi.
  • Nuoti welcomed the two Six-Star Fiends and asked them to help in a great battle planned for two months later.
  • In the Shadow Tribe, Naiser, Yodewen, and Ashamu realized that Rog and Dimont made it too dangerous to confront Nuoti for now.
  • Naiser decided that the three rivals would wait until Rog and Dimont left, then demand their share of the Findaer Clan’s treasure.
  • Nuoti Taylesi revealed that he planned to use a mysterious pot to refine a drop of Sovereign’s Might in two months and kill Naiser and the two Fiends.

Ch. 28The Findaer Clan's Wealth

Nuoti killed Hati, a hidden Findaer Clan descendant, and took the treasure in his interspatial ring. He later led an attack on the Shadow Tribe, where his battle with Naiser and their allies began, while Dimont defeated a six-armed Naga woman.

  • Hati revealed that he was a direct descendant of the Findaer Clan, but Nuoti killed him and seized his interspatial ring.
  • Nuoti learned that the Findaer Clan had already fallen apart, then spent roughly fifty days preparing to attack the Shadow Tribe.
  • Nuoti led Rog, Dimont, and tribal warriors in an assault on Naiser's Shadow Tribe.
  • Rog engaged the fast werewolf Yodewen, while Nuoti fought Naiser, who used shadow clones and Shadowspace to evade him.
  • Dimont killed the six-armed Naga woman with three punches.

Ch. 29Sovereign's Might!

Nuoti unleashed Sovereign's Might and killed Naiser and Yodewen before chasing Rog and Dimont. Dimont revealed his giant ape form and endured Nuoti's powerful physical attacks, but Nuoti then targeted him with a soul attack.

  • Rog and Dimont fled when Nuoti activated a drop of Destruction Sovereign Power, transforming him into a foe comparable to an Asura Prefect.
  • Nuoti caught and killed Naiser with one staff strike, then killed Yodewen as they tried to escape.
  • Nuoti caught up with Rog and Dimont, but Dimont revealed his towering giant ape form and intercepted Nuoti's attack.
  • Nuoti repeatedly struck Dimont with his staff, but Dimont's body withstood the blows without serious injury.
  • Nuoti changed tactics and sent illusory soul swords at Dimont, hoping to exploit a weakness in his soul defense.

Ch. 30A Ray of Light

Nuoti nearly killed Rog after Dimont’s defenses and soul protection proved unable to stop him, but Rog’s desperate awakening and a mysterious black ray changed the fight at the last moment. The ray vaporized Nuoti, leaving Rog’s fate unresolved.

  • Nuoti’s soul attacks failed against Dimont’s Soul-Suppressing Celestial Crystal, so he turned his attack toward Rog.
  • Dimont used Suppress Heaven to restrain Nuoti for an instant, allowing Rog to survive a staff blow that destroyed most of his body.
  • As Nuoti prepared to strike Rog again, Rog reflected on his life and realized he had been driven by fear rather than purpose.
  • A beam of black light descended from the clouds and vaporized Nuoti before he could kill Rog.

Ch. 31Aiken, a Soul Mutator! (Part One)

Aiken saved Rog from Nuoti and revealed that he was a two-element Soul Mutator whose mastery of Fate and Light had made him comparable to a Paragon. He left Rog with the secret of his strength and the revelation that he had fought a Darkness Paragon to a draw.

  • Aiken struck Nuoti down from afar, leaving only Nuoti's Godspark, and appeared before the badly injured Rog.
  • Rog recognized Aiken as the legendary powerhouse of the Zijing Continent, and Aiken confirmed that he was a Soul Mutator of fate and light.
  • Aiken explained how he fused the Profound Mysteries of both Laws and cultivated the Edicts of Fate until a final fusion gave him the special transformation and Willpower associated with Paragons.
  • Aiken told Rog that he had fought a Darkness Paragon while using only Light Divine Power and had ended the battle in a draw.
  • Rog suspected that Aiken was concealing the full extent of his strength and wondered why Aiken had shared his secrets with him.

Ch. 32Aiken, the Soul Mutator (Part 2)

Aiken explained the stages and balance required to fuse mysteries from different Laws, and Rog decided to pursue the Fusion Law alongside his individual cultivation. Aiken gave Rog a drop of Sovereign's Might before leaving, and Rog chose Lightning as the only individual Law he would continue cultivating.

  • Aiken explained that Soul Mutators had to keep both Laws equally strong when fusing their mysteries, and Rog learned why advancing beyond the first stage was so difficult.
  • Rog accepted Aiken's advice and decided to pursue the Fusion Law while continuing to cultivate individual Laws.
  • Aiken gave Rog a drop of Sovereign's Might, which Rog realized could save his life in a crisis.
  • Aiken left, and Rog reflected on the strength of Aiken's attack and considered how to begin fusing mysteries.
  • Rog decided to cultivate Lightning as his sole individual Law and devote his remaining efforts to the Fusion Law.

Ch. 33Fifty Thousand Years of Secluded Cultivation

After the Shadow Tribe battle, Rog spent fifty thousand years cultivating a Fusion Law in seclusion while Dimont grew strong enough to rival an Asura in material attacks. Rog emerged with his second fusion nearly complete, unaware that someone had been watching them.

  • The battle projection spread across the Infernal Realm, and experts argued over who had killed Nuoti with a distant beam of light.
  • Rog settled in Cloud Net City and began fusing the Death Rule’s Soul Ray with the Lightning Law’s Judgment Profound Mystery, then chose Thunder for his second fusion.
  • Over fifty thousand years, Rog brought his Fusion Law close to the level of someone who had fused five Profound Mysteries and completely fused his fourth Lightning Law Profound Mystery.
  • Dimont fought throughout the Infernal Realm, advanced the Path of Collapse and Destruction to its third level, and raised his material attacks to Asura level.
  • Rog and Dimont discussed challenging for Seven-Star Fiend rank and the chance for Rog to become a city lord, not knowing someone had targeted them.

Ch. 34Black Flame - Explosion!

After leaving Cloud Net City for a Fiend mission, Rog was ambushed by Li Wei and Anna, who had waited tens of thousands of years for a chance to kill him. Li Wei’s Black Flame attack destroyed the caravan’s Metallic Lifeform, but Dimont remained unharmed as Rog escaped with Angelina.

Rog defeated the assassins Li Wei and Anna with his Fusion Law and learned that they had been sent by someone named Fulaite. He took the black armor and sword, while his employer recorded part of the battle.

  • Rog fought Li Wei, using his lightning techniques to overwhelm the Highgod despite the special armor protecting him.
  • Rog killed Li Wei with Dark Soul Nether Lightning after noticing Anna was trying to escape.

  • Rog's employer recorded part of the battle with the Floating Shadow Technique.

Ch. 36Insight in the Mist Sea

Rog encountered a Fog Sea Riot and used its overwhelming lightning to deepen his understanding of the Laws of Lightning. He sensed the Profound Mystery of Thunder beginning to fuse and gained confidence that he could one day become a Lightning Paragon.

  • Fulaite learned that Li Wei, his most promising genius, had died, but concealed his anger while visiting Saimengte.
  • Rog traveled toward Red Moon City aboard a Metallic Lifeform, dismissed Angelina’s flirtation, and recruited more Highgod Fiends.
  • Rog killed dozens of bandits with a single lightning strike, prompting his companions to mistake him for a Seven-Star Fiend.
  • Dimont spotted lightning in the distance, and Rog recognized the approaching Fog Sea Riot and flew toward it.
  • Rog entered the vast thunderstorm and endured its lightning as he studied the Laws of Lightning and began fusing the Profound Mystery of Thunder.
  • Rog gained deeper insight into lightning and confidence that he would one day become a Lightning Paragon.

Ch. 37Choosing a Target

After completing enough missions, Rog applied for the Seven-Star Fiend assessment and selected Yiven Romison, the Aurora Fiend, as his target. He prepared to pursue the mission, whose description identified Yiven’s location, abilities, and fighting style.

  • Rog returned to Angelina’s Metallic Lifeform after making progress in the Lightning Law and later declined her invitation to meet the Julie Clan leader.
  • Rog told Dimont he wanted to complete the required missions and take the Seven-Star Fiend assessment, then accepted a mission to eliminate bandits led by a Six-Star Fiend.
  • Rog wiped out the bandit gang and later joined Dimont in a bloody conflict between two powerful clans, meeting the mission requirements for the assessment.
  • Rog reviewed Seven-Star Fiend missions at the Fiend Castle in Via City and chose Yiven Romison, the Aurora Fiend, as his target.

Ch. 38Thunder's Wrath!

Rog challenged Yiven Romison at Lake Kejiaer and overcame the veteran Seven-Star Fiend’s strongest light-based attack with a newly devised technique. He then unleashed Azure Lightning, killing Yiven as the spectators watched.

  • Rog challenged Yiven, and the two met above Lake Kejiaer while spectators gathered to watch.
  • Yiven attacked with a golden spear technique, but Rog countered it with Thunderclap - Break and blocked his Holy Light Dissolution with a bolt of lightning.
  • Yiven unleashed Aurora of Eternal Night, but Rog’s Heaven - Extermination dispersed its power.
  • Rog summoned dark thunderclouds with Azure Lightning, leaving Yiven unable to move before a black lightning bolt blasted him into dust.

Ch. 39Clouddark Fiend!

After Rog killed Yiven with Azure Lightning, the Fiend Castle awarded him the title of Clouddark Fiend, and his reputation spread across the planes as rumors declared him an Asura-level expert. As powerful figures took notice, Flame Burns traveled to meet Rog, and Rog received an invitation from the Prefect of Xiyun.

  • Rog's Azure Lightning stunned witnesses with its power, and Luolixi awarded him the Seven-Star Fiend medallion and the title of Clouddark Fiend.
  • The battle's Floating Shadow spread throughout the Infernal Realm and beyond, leading clans to warn their younger members not to provoke Rog and to befriend him.
  • Aiken watched Rog's battle and recognized that his lightning technique was unusual, though he could not determine its deeper nature.
  • Flame Burns watched the Battle Projection, became intrigued by Rog's methods, and set out for Golden Flame City to meet him.
  • Rog received an invitation from the Prefect of Xiyun and learned that Flame Burns had succeeded Aiken to the post.

Ch. 40Purgatory and Planar Expeditions

Flame explained to Rog how Purgatory and planar expeditions could help him obtain Sovereign's Might. Rog learned that Sovereigns used expeditions to peculiar planes as proxy contests, leaving him with a new path to pursue.

  • Flame visited Rog, praised his mastery of lightning, and asked whether he had Sovereign's Might.
  • Rog admitted he had little knowledge of how to obtain Sovereign's Might, and Flame described becoming a Sovereign's Emissary or joining a Planar War.
  • Flame explained that Purgatory Commanders led armies in battles against experts from other Divine Planes.
  • Flame told Rog that Sovereigns sometimes settled minor disagreements through expeditions to peculiar planes such as the Aoqi Plane.
  • Flame revealed that he had gained much of his Sovereign's Might from these expeditions, where gods fought for rewards chosen by the Sovereigns.

Ch. 41Facing Flame

Rog learned from Flame that the Aoqi Plane expedition could last thousands of years and decided he needed Sovereign's Might before facing other Asura-level experts. He sparred with Flame, whose combined material and soul attacks pushed Rog to unleash powerful lightning techniques, and the fight ended with Rog impressed by Flame's defensive use of the Fire Seed Technique.

  • Flame explained the expedition's likely duration, risks, and rewards, and Rog decided to visit the Aoqi Plane to obtain Sovereign's Might.
  • Flame asked Rog to spar so he could seek inspiration for fusing all six fire mysteries, and Rog agreed to meet him in the barren mountains.
  • Rog and Flame revealed techniques that enhanced their divine bodies, then Flame opened with a spear attack combining a material strike and a soul attack.
  • Rog answered with Azure Lightning, which suppressed Flame's movements and struck him with black lightning.
  • Rog unleashed Sin-Cleansing Lightning, prompting Flame to burn divine and soul power to defend himself with the Fire Seed Technique.
  • Rog recognized that Flame had used the Fire Seed Technique to cancel the soul attack and saw a possible lesson for improving his own defenses.

Ch. 42Intelligence

After confirming that he had reached Asura-level strength, Rog learned why Fulaite would be difficult to target and began seeking a way into the Aoqi Plane expedition. He decided to challenge a Prefect and bought confidential intelligence on the Infernal Realm’s Prefects and Purgatory’s Commanders.

  • Rog and Flame ended their sparring match, and Rog confirmed he could hold his own against a veteran Asura.
  • Rog asked Flame about Fulaite and learned that the Death Rule cultivator had powerful allies and protection from a Sovereign’s child.
  • Rog decided to seek another chance to deal with Fulaite and planned how to enter the expedition in the Aoqi Plane.
  • Rog concluded he would challenge a Prefect to gain authority and access to the expedition, though he considered challenging a Purgatory Commander if necessary.
  • Rog and Dimont visited Black Sand Castle, where Rog bought the most confidential intelligence on all 216 Prefects and Commanders.

Ch. 43Challenging Makenrich

Rog challenged Makenrich, the Lord of Tianhua Prefecture, to a duel and followed him to the Anbuli Mountain Range. With spectators gathering and both men confident enough to fight without weapons, the battle was about to begin.

  • Rog reviewed the Infernal Realm's Prefects and judged that his abilities made him a strong counter to Makenrich's soul attacks.
  • Rog arrived at the Tianhua Prefecture residence and publicly challenged Makenrich, who warned that his fights ended with one combatant dead.
  • Rog demanded an immediate duel, and Makenrich chose the Anbuli Mountain Range as their battlefield.
  • News of the challenge spread, and spectators hurried to watch, most expecting Makenrich to defeat Rog with a single glance.
  • Rog and Makenrich arrived above the range's highest peak, declined to use weapons, and agreed to begin the fight.

Ch. 44Among the Asuras!

Rog survived Makenrich’s deadly soul attack and killed him with Azure Thunder, winning the challenge for Tianhua Prefecture. The spectators and soldiers hailed Rog as their new Prefect, placing him among the Infernal Realm’s 108 Asuras.

  • Makenrich attacked Rog’s soul, but the Soul-Suppressing Celestial Crystal and Rog’s soul-defense secret art kept him safe.
  • Makenrich used a drop of Destruction Sovereign Power and strengthened his soul attack, but Rog’s defenses withstood it.
  • Rog detonated his own drop of Destruction Sovereign Power and summoned vast thunderclouds over the Anbuli Mountain Range.
  • Rog struck Makenrich with Azure Thunder, killing him completely.
  • Rog declared himself the new Lord of Tianhua Prefecture and flew to the Prefect’s residence as the thunderclouds dispersed.
  • The spectators and hundreds of thousands of prefecture soldiers hailed Rog as Prefect, marking his place among the Infernal Realm’s 108 Asuras.

Ch. 45Lightning Element Highgod, Soul Transformation!

Rog mastered Thunderbolt and became a Lightning Highgod, triggering a transformation in all three of his souls. He discovered Sovereign's Might in the depths of the Elemental Sea but could not draw any of it.

  • Rog ordered Elmira to have Mandel continue managing the Prefecture Army and to turn away visitors while he cultivated.
  • Rog worried that Makenrich might still have a Saint Domain True Body and considered how to obtain Sovereign's Might before the expedition.
  • Rog cultivated Thunderbolt for three years, completing his mastery of the final Lightning profound mystery.
  • Rog's Lightning Divine Clone became a Highgod, and the Natural Laws transformed the souls of his true body and Death Divine Clone as well.
  • Rog probed the Elemental Sea and sensed its vast stores of Sovereign's Might, but his soul power could not draw any out.

Ch. 46Visiting Aiken

Rog visited Aiken to ask him to refine another drop of Sovereign's Might after using his previous one against Makenrich. Aiken offered him three drops in exchange for a small favor and suggested two places where Rog might deepen his understanding of lightning.

  • Rog found that even after advancing to Highgod, he could barely stir the Sovereign's Might in his Inkstone and could not extract it himself.
  • Rog traveled to the Aiken Clan's headquarters in the Pahorshi Mountains and met Aiken and his wife, Helena.
  • Rog asked Aiken to refine more Sovereign's Might, and Aiken praised Rog's Azure Lightning technique and discussed its connection to the Fog Sea Riot.
  • Rog explained that he had not mastered Electromagnetic Space and was still far from becoming a Paragon.
  • Aiken recommended Nether Mountain and Thunder Abyss as places with extraordinary lightning power, and Rog resolved to visit them.
  • Aiken offered Rog three drops of Sovereign's Might in exchange for a small favor.

Ch. 47Heading to Purgatory

Rog gathered Haidisi and several other ambitious experts to join him on an expedition to the Aoqi Plane, then began the long journey toward Purgatory in the Chaotic Sea. The group traveled by Metallic Lifeform while Rog studied intelligence on powerful experts, and Dimont remained behind to pursue ways to strengthen himself.

  • Aiken asked Rog to take younger members of his clan to the expedition plane, and Rog agreed after warning them of the danger.
  • Lady Helena said an affectionate farewell to Haidisi, and Rog promised to do what he could to keep her safe.
  • Rog invited the Prefecture Army officers to join him, and Colin and Gu Rory volunteered to accompany the expedition.
  • Rog left Elmira instructions for managing Tianhua Prefecture and departed with Haidisi's group, Colin, and Gu Rory.
  • Dimont stayed behind, reflected on his limited usefulness against Asura-level enemies, and considered strengthening his body through his innate ability.
  • Rog's group crossed the Star Mist Sea and entered the Chaotic Sea, while Rog cultivated and reviewed intelligence during the journey toward Purgatory.

Ch. 48Arrival

Rog and his companions arrived at Purgatory and entered the Aoqi Plane to join its expedition. They emerged in a smaller castle, where Rog discovered that the plane’s restrictive force greatly reduced his divine sense.

  • Rog and his companions landed on Fiend Island and flew to the central Fiend Castle.
  • A guard captain brought them to Anpusha, the Sovereign’s Emissary responsible for the expedition’s teleportation array.
  • Anpusha gave Rog a Golden Commander Badge and the others black Soldier Badges, then explained the rules for earning military merits and Sovereign’s Might.
  • Rog and his companions entered the teleportation array and arrived in the Aoqi Plane.
  • Rog sensed that the Aoqi Plane’s restrictive force limited his divine sense to a few hundred meters.

Ch. 49Clash

Rog met Remy Gaius at Sovereign Qifeng’s camp, learned about the expedition’s commanders and rewards, then led his companions into the Aoqi Plane’s mist zone. There they encountered Bainite’s squad, and the chapter left their Seven-Star Fiends fighting a group battle.

  • Rog met Remy Gaius, Sovereign Qifeng’s Emissary, and learned that Lord Odris was the strongest Commander on their side and that no Paragon High-Gods had joined the expedition.
  • Rog asked Colin, Gu Rory, and Haidisi whether they wanted to fight, and they chose to enter the mist zone with him.
  • After traveling for three days, Rog’s group met Bainite’s enemy squad, and the two Commanders agreed to have six Seven-Star Fiends from each side fight without interference.
  • Haidisi led her family’s six fighters into a group battle against Bainite’s people, who used Wind-Sand World while Haidisi countered with Deep Sea Space.
  • The twelve fighters exchanged powerful techniques, and Bainite’s earth-law cultivator injured three opponents.

Ch. 50Facing Bainite

Rog watched Haidisi’s group defeat Bainite’s companions, then sparred with Bainite and tested their material and soul attacks. Bainite acknowledged Rog’s strength, invited him to Crimson Fortune Gorge, and the two groups parted ways.

  • Haidisi’s squad held Hunt back while a Lightning Law practitioner killed two of Bainite’s fighters with Soul Attacks.
  • Bainite stopped the battle before Hunt was overwhelmed, then challenged Rog to spar.
  • Bainite’s Annihilation Wind Wheel clashed with Rog’s Azure Thunder, and both men demonstrated powerful material attacks.
  • Bainite struck Rog with Howling Wind Sound Waves, but Rog’s soul defenses prevented the attack from harming him.
  • Bainite praised Rog, invited him to Crimson Fortune Gorge, and the two groups went their separate ways.

Ch. 51Gray's Predicament

Rog sparred with Lampard and other commanders in the Aoqi Plane while continuing to cultivate, and Gray’s past troubles caught up with him after he killed an Azure Dragon Clan descendant who tried to take Connie. Gray, Domir, and Connie fled toward Tianhua Prefecture, hoping Rog would protect them with the help of a treasure Domir had kept.

  • Rog met Lampard in the Aoqi Plane and sparred with him, finding that Lampard’s Water Law excelled at defense while Rog had stronger attacks.
  • Rog continued meeting commanders and improving his combat experience, including suffering a setback against an expert who cultivated the Laws of the Earth.
  • After a hundred years of secluded cultivation, Rog fused his thundering profound mystery with four others and prepared to fuse all five together.
  • Gray passed the Fiend examination, rose to Five-Star Fiend strength, and later became a Highgod with the strength of a Six-Star Fiend after failing to fuse a fourth profound mystery.
  • Gray killed Aiwen, a direct descendant of the Azure Dragon Clan, after Aiwen tried to seize Connie, and Gray sacrificed his Fire Divine Clone to help the three escape the clan’s pursuers.
  • Domir reassured Gray and Connie that Rog might protect them in Tianhua Prefecture because they were old acquaintances and Domir still possessed a valuable treasure.
