Chapter 10
His delicate body, so frail it looked as though it would break at the slightest touch, trembled uncontrollably. His extraordinarily beautiful face was slightly contorted and glistened with cold sweat and copious tears.
Blood welled from the wound on Su Lin's neck, soaking half his body crimson.
Yet Medises remained unusually calm as he faced the young man, who was on the verge of passing out. He even seemed much happier than before.
"Look, if that counts, then he can be considered my honey bug now, too."
A powerful scent of pheromones belonging to "Blood Wing" Medises spread through the examination room. It was so potent that not only did it easily suppress the pheromones Carlos had carefully left inside Su Lin, but even the other Zerg still in the room began trembling and prostrating themselves uncontrollably beneath the highly aggressive scent of the high-ranking Zerg.
The sight left these Zerg looking thoroughly disheveled, but they could do nothing about it. The instincts in their blood made them utterly incapable of resisting a high-ranking Zerg like Medises.
If Medises truly wished it, he could turn every Zerg in the examination room into his own nourishment.
Thankfully, Medises did not seem to be in a bad mood today.
He soon stopped tormenting his subordinates.
"Now, you may go and notify Carlos Pale Calamity."
The silver-haired Zerg repeated his order without expression.
Chapter 10
Faced with Medises in this state, not a single Zerg dared delay carrying out his orders.
Su Lin, still suspended from the levitation device, had wanted to pass out, but now he could only force himself to stay conscious. He drew in small gasps of cold air as he watched the tall, fierce-looking Zerg scurry out of the examination room, meek and terrified.
They did not even leave behind a low-ranking worker Zerg to handle miscellaneous tasks.
After all, they were all Zerg, and the pheromones Medises had just left on that frail Dew Nest had said plenty. That intense desire and possessiveness... Ahem. The other Zerg all had some idea of what Medises would do next to the larva he had just acquired. Sensibly, they cleared the room, afraid of disturbing the future Blood Wing lord's coming "pleasure."
Soon, only the unlucky human, gasping from the pain, and Medises remained in the spacious, gloomy Security Committee examination room.
Everything around them was quiet.
An invisible pressure slowly settled over Su Lin.
Medises returned to the examination device at an unhurried pace and watched Su Lin for a long time.
Su Lin felt as though the other man's gaze had substance, creating an almost stinging sensation wherever it fell on him. He began to regret not letting himself pass out from the pain just now. Medises's searching gaze was so sharp that it made him deeply uneasy.
He had the feeling he would be eaten the very next second.
Su Lin sensed the faint trace of killing intent seeping from the silver-haired Zerg with unusual clarity.
That was why, when Medises suddenly raised a hand after watching him for a long time, Su Lin instinctively closed his eyes.
"Release the target from restraint."
To Su Lin's surprise, what reached his ears the next second was the Zerg's utterly flat order. At Medises's command, several soft biological tentacles descended from overhead. They were much like the automated mechanical arms developed by humans, equipped with the same basic voice-control functions, but the Zerg's bionic automated tentacles looked far more disgusting than human mechanical arms. Most were flesh-colored, with tiny suckers covering one side and a smooth, moist surface on the other.
The damp, soft tentacles lifted Su Lin down from the levitation device. When the collar was removed from his neck, he coughed sharply and began gasping for air. The pain just now had trapped a breath in his throat, nearly suffocating him on the spot.
Just then, the silver-haired Zerg's distinctly noticeable gaze fell on him again.
Su Lin raised his head and met Medises's pale blue-green eyes.
Unable to help himself, he flinched. Medises's bite had hurt so badly that Su Lin was nearly traumatized by it.
Fortunately, Medises did not touch him again.
The highly placed silver-haired Zerg merely stood there. He seemed to have finally finished looking at Su Lin, and he coldly gave a second order.
"Execute the 'Blood Wing' colony's automatic private property protection protocol-take this Dew Nest back to the Security Committee's main ship, place him in my private quarters, and set his living conditions to A. During the transfer of ownership, no Zerg other than me is permitted to approach him."
With that, Medises turned around.
Judging by his actions, it was as though Su Lin really were just an ordinary asset reclaimed by the Blood Wing Tribe, and Medises, having finished his official business, had lost interest in him and intended to leave.
But as Su Lin watched the tall Zerg's cold, retreating back, he suddenly struggled to his feet amid the bionic tentacles.
Su Lin was probably the person on this ship most afraid of Medises, yet now he hurried after the Zerg with great urgency.
"Wait-"
he called weakly, running two steps forward. But before he could reach Medises, he seemed to lose his balance from the pain in his neck. His legs gave way, and the young man fell straight toward the floor.
Then he collided with the silver-haired Zerg's hard, cold embrace.
Medises stared fixedly at Su Lin without saying a word.
"Senior."
Su Lin looked up at the man, who was much taller than he remembered, and murmured.
