Background / History

Xia Liang awakened the martial soul during Guowan Village's Martial Soul Awakening. It initially manifested only as black-purple ribs enclosing his body, leading Su Yuntao to deem it incomplete and crippled. Its Innate Level Five Soul Power nevertheless proved that it had enough innate potential for Xia Liang to cultivate as a Soul Master. 2

Xia Liang recognized that its ribcage resembled the initial form of Susanoo. He devised a cultivation path in which Soul Rings would progressively add skeletal components, ultimately creating a complete giant he named Bone Transformation Susanoo. 3

The martial soul's development is directly linked to Xia Liang's own skeletal structure. Soul Rings usually strengthen the martial soul faster than his flesh and blood, once leaving him gaunt and corpse-like; Ice-Fire Body Tempering later strengthened his body enough to trigger a major bloodline evolution. 48 55

Appearance

The martial soul began as a set of black-purple ribs around Xia Liang. Through repeated evolution, it developed a spine, skull, arms, meridian-like energy, flesh-like outer layers, armor, and finally a complete winged giant form. 2 55 69 125 132

Classification and Mechanics

Although classified as an external Tool Martial Soul, the Necromancer Skeleton is founded on Xia Liang's own skeletal structure. Its growth affects his body, while improvements to his skeletal aptitude can directly evolve the martial soul bloodline. 55

Its unusual origin also gives it traits resembling both Tool and Beast Martial Souls. After it developed spiritual attributes, its enhanced eyesight and spiritual power were fed back to Xia Liang himself. 99

Skeletal Defense and Manifestation

The original ribcage is exceptionally hard and resilient, capable of protecting Xia Liang from falls and impacts without visible damage.
