Background

Nuwa seeks out Cheng Yue as a master despite his initial refusal. To overcome his objection to her snake tail, she transforms it into human legs; Cheng Yue then accepts her as his disciple and promises to impart divine abilities to her 2.

She accompanies Cheng Yue to an unowned South Sea island, where he establishes a palace and protective formations. Cheng Yue gives her the Daoist Canon, containing ten divine abilities, but his misunderstanding of her actual realm leaves Nuwa confused about his cultivation knowledge 3.

She is also impulsive and confrontational. Nuwa steals the treasures of Purple Cloud Palace, threatens Saints and Quasi-Sages, and repeatedly pursues grudges against Yuanshi, Zhunti, and Jieyin. After being restrained during Hongjun's first lecture, she recognizes that she should act first rather than boast and give an enemy time to counter her 14 18 23 89.

Her harshness is balanced by a strong protective instinct. Purple Cloud Palace

Nuwa travels through Chaos to Purple Cloud Palace seeking opportunity. There she takes every treasure from the Treasure Distribution Cliff, confronts Hongjun, disrupts his lecture, and breaks through to Quasi-Sage while listening to the Dao 11 14 18 20.

Her conduct makes her a feared figure throughout the Primordial World. Hongjun is reluctant to punish her because of Cheng Yue and the Wooden Tokens she carries, while Yuanshi, Zhunti, and Jieyin become lasting targets of her resentment 18 20 23.

Proving the Dao and Creating Humanity

After learning that her future is tied to creating humans, Nuwa ultimately chooses to create the Human Race at the South Sea. Houtu protects the newborn race while Nuwa creates male and female humans from sacred soil and divine water 84 86 87.

Nuwa declares the Human Race's name, claims the title of Holy Mother, and pledges her protection. The act grants her immense merit and allows her to prove her Dao as Primordial Unity, though she rejects the title of Saint 88.

Protector of the Human Race

Nuwa guides the rapidly expanding Human Race by relocating two-thirds of its population to Lesser Worlds and erasing the memories of those who remain, preserving the migration as a secret 104.

When she discovers Demon Race members holding Human captives and creating half-human, half-demon descendants, Nuwa eliminates the captors, frees the captives, and seeks Cheng Yue's judgment regarding those of mixed lineage 135. She later confronts Gong Gong after his reckless hunting and floods threaten Human settlements 148.

Human Emperor

At Cheng Yue's request, Nuwa succeeds Fuxi as Human Emperor despite trying to avoid the position. She serves for a limited period, finds the succession ceremony excessive, and eventually abdicates before the era of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors has passed 214 244.

Her rule does not eliminate her impulsiveness: she later proposes attacking the Heavenly Court and Purple Cloud Palace because she believes the Human Race should not remain beneath the Demon Race. Cheng Yue stops her and warns that war with the Heavenly Dao could endanger humanity itself 230.

All Heavens

After emerging from seclusion and failing to find Cheng Yue, Nuwa learns that he has sealed his memories and entered a low-martial world through the Myriad Worlds Administration Bureau. She seals her own cultivation, enters the same world, and approaches a mortal Cheng Yue as his supposed girlfriend while guarding him from hostile attention 275.
