• Genesis attacked Shinra forces in Wutai, where Shinra’s clones of him and Angeal defeated him before Dante and Nero rescued him during an aircraft battle.
• Emperor Company used gene editing to stabilize the conflict between Genesis’s Jenova Cells and the Emperor Virus, restoring his breathing and heartbeat.
• Dr. Hollander defected to Emperor Company with Shinra’s Clone Technology, and Shinra sent Sephiroth and Chang Wei to confront the growing threat.

Chang Wei then left for a new world, where Rin Tohsaka summoned him as an Archer and examined his abilities.

• Genesis and Angeal joined Lazard’s plan to destroy Shinra’s Clone Soldiers, and Dante agreed to help Angeal if they cooperated with the mission.
• After learning that Jenova had created him, Sephiroth investigated his origins with Chang Wei and resolved to oppose Shinra.
• Sephiroth and Chang Wei joined Genesis, Angeal, Zack, and Cloud in seizing Shinra headquarters, then fought the Jenova Lifeform with Emperor Company’s forces and defeated it.
• Chang Wei had the Shinra president and Dr. Hojo executed, while Sephiroth confirmed that Aerith was the last surviving Cetra.
• Sephiroth and Angeal survived the Emperor Virus treatment, and Sephiroth proposed a Guardian Organization that dismantled Mako Reactors and funded public initiatives through Shinra’s assets.

The arc left him facing Gilgamesh at full power, with the Imperial Seal slowing Ea as Chang Wei began offering everything he possessed as a sacrifice.

• Rin Tohsaka asked Chang Wei about the First Emperor’s Noble Phantasms, and he explained their powers before settling into the Tohsaka residence.
• Rin and Chang Wei investigated the school barrier, where Rin discovered it devoured the souls of people inside, and Chang Wei defeated Cú Chulainn with Great Qin Black Water.
• Chang Wei rescued Medea from Reincarnators, formed a contract with her, and helped her establish a Magecraft Workshop.
• Medea summoned Scathach as Assassin, and Scathach accepted her as Master before teaching her and Chang Wei the Primal Runes.
