Background / History
Perseus Commonwealth and Trade Federation
The Daya Civilization was formerly part of the Perseus Commonwealth and participated on the periphery of its war against the Dark Star. The Commonwealth's collapse allowed Daya to leave the organization. Its leaders remained wary of powerful Level 6 civilizations because of this history. 985
It operated within the Perseus Trade Federation, an interstellar commercial group that included twelve Level 4 civilizations. When Daya fled the Perseus Arm, it recalled its affiliated members but did not force them to leave; only four accepted upgraded Warp Engines, including the Gurji Civilization. 957
The civilization's major commercial specialty was the sale of Fake Gaia Planets, supported by its mature Consciousness Upload Technology. It also maintained technology capable of shaping the loyalty of affiliated civilizations' warriors, though its regulations generally prohibited using such methods on Daya's own people. 976 977
First Contact with Humanity
Daya contacted Humanity with a goodwill message. Humanity initially concealed its identity and fleet movements through the Crimson Flame Civilization, fearing that Daya might discover Adeli's existence. 914
Daya proposed deeper exchanges with Humanity, including mutual headquarters visits and Consciousness Upload Technology sharing. Humanity refused, then considered Daya's separate invitation to hunt Space Zerg for Biological Regeneration Armor Technology. 916
The two civilizations subsequently encountered the Star Sea Level 5 Civilization Grand Alliance near the Sanwen Star System. Daya attempted to profit by luring Space Creatures against the Grand Alliance, but the plan triggered a prolonged pursuit. 920 950
Flight from the Star Sea Grand Alliance
Daya's breakout fleet fought the Grand Alliance at close range and suffered severe losses. Its Strong Material armor could resist attacks only briefly after shields failed, but its warships continued fighting under overwhelming numerical pressure. 956
After more than a century on the run, Daya escaped by diverting Space Creatures toward its pursuers. Nearly half of its original seven million Star-Class Warships had been lost, leaving just over three million. 957
Following the escape, Daya provided Humanity with a Level 5 Technology Tree and later exchanged its core Consciousness Upload Technology for Humanity's Quark Material technology. 975 976
Appearance
Daya individuals are soft-bodied carbon-based lifeforms. Their bodies appear soft and pliable, but their biological resilience and adaptability greatly exceed Humanity's early expectations. 980
- Often described as soft or glutinous in appearance. 965 1002
- Can move with chassis-like support systems. 1002
- Wear plastic-like technological garments in formal settings. 1047
- Can survive across different gravity environments without warships recreating their homeworld gravity. 980
- Possess exceptional survivability, allowing them to recover personnel from warship wrecks that Humanity initially assumed contained no survivors. 980
Civilizational Outlook
Daya's leadership is pragmatic and highly conscious of power disparities. It treats advanced civilizations with formal respect, seeks protective alliances, and repeatedly aligns itself with stronger partners when survival requires it. 985 1036
For a long period after reaching Level 6, Daya society suffered from an inferiority complex over its apparent lack of Characteristic Technology. Its government temporarily restored morale by publicizing Soul-Binding Biosphere Technology as a racial talent and possible route toward a future breakthrough. 1000 1029
The eventual recognition of its consciousness technology as Characteristic Technology transformed this outlook. Daya gained confidence, demanded a leadership seat in the Great Voyage Organization, and began negotiating technology exchanges from a position of strength. 1316 1317
Abilities & Skills
Consciousness Upload Technology
Daya possesses mature consciousness-related technology that forms the foundation of its Fake Gaia Planet business and later its Characteristic Technology research. 976
- Supports the creation of Fake Gaia consciousness entities, though early experiments could not produce consciousness intensity comparable to Adeli. 1041
- Enables Brain-Machine Interfaces that use Daya brains as a warship's sensory center. 1051
- Uses Consciousness Sensory Sharing to distribute a warship's information load across multiple Daya pilots. 1051
- Includes Soul-Binding Biosphere Technology, initially presented internally as Daya's racial talent. 1000
- Supports advanced Sentient Life hibernation technology, an area in which Daya is among the Great Voyage Organization's foremost researchers. 1265
Biotechnology
Daya's biotechnology was substantially ahead of Humanity's during their early Level 5 partnership. 980
- Enhances individual resilience and environmental adaptability. 980
- Allows Daya personnel to function in varied gravitational conditions without specialized onboard gravity simulation. 980
- Provided Humanity with biological data and research that helped expose gaps in Humanity's own life-science development. 980
Soul Compatibility
Daya's Characteristic Technology emerged from its unique understanding of Soul Compatibility within Consciousness Upload Technology. Other civilizations could read the shared technical material but could not comprehend it. 1316
- Was identified only after a technology dispute with the Feather Civilization forced both sides to compare their research. 1316
- Elevated Daya to the ranks of Characteristic Technology civilizations. 1316
- Earned Daya a sixth leadership seat in the Great Voyage Organization. 1317
- Directed later research toward Fake Gaia Planets and mental or soul-based attacks. 1343
Mental-Impact Weapon
Daya developed a mental-impact weapon for its later flagship after more than two million years of research. 1356
- Has a maximum effective killing range below 1.618 light-years; effectiveness declines with distance. 1356
- Is not considered practically lethal to Humanity, the Divine Matrix Civilization, or the Awakener Civilization. 1356
- Functions as a weapon of mass destruction against ordinary civilizations without heavily strengthened souls. 1356
- Can disrupt Boundary Breakers, leaving them dazed or mentally deranged and vulnerable to follow-up attacks. 1356
- Is particularly effective against Microscopic Demons. 1356
Soul Annihilation
By its Cosmic Civilization stage, Daya had refined its soul-based attacks into Soul Annihilation. 1483
- The Super Daya used Soul Annihilation to instantly kill a Galaxy-Level Microscopic Demon. 1507
- A later indiscriminate Soul Annihilation strike affected 5.3 billion warships and killed tens of billions of sentient beings. 1533
- Daya shared Microscopic Demon remains obtained through its attacks with the other allied civilizations for research. 1507
Equipment / Weapons / Items

Story Role / Major Arcs
Alliance with Humanity
After their first contact, Daya became Humanity's source of Level 5 technology, regional intelligence, biological data, and Consciousness Upload expertise. In return, Humanity's military strength and Quark Material technology helped secure Daya's survival and reconstruction. 975 976 980
Daya proposed a defensive Military Alliance with Humanity in the Orion Arm. The agreement required mutual support against unknown attackers and transparency in Level 6 research. 981
Rise to Level 6
Daya and Humanity spent roughly two thousand years collaborating on Dark Matter, String Theory, and the Theory of Everything. Both successfully entered the Level 6 stage, though Daya initially lacked the Characteristic Technology it believed necessary to stand among the strongest civilizations. 1026 1029
The Great Voyage
Daya joined the Milky Way's Great Voyage alongside Humanity and other Level 6 civilizations. It remained closely aligned with Humanity, including during the political struggle that forced the Celestial Star Civilization into the “Head Goose” role. 1115 1119
After arriving in Andromeda, Daya continued to stay near Humanity for security and support. 1135
Recognition as a Characteristic Technology Civilization
Following the Midway Galaxy catastrophe, Daya sold Mental Consciousness enhancement technology to other civilizations. A dispute with the Feather Civilization revealed that Daya's Soul Compatibility research was inherently unreplicable, confirming it as Characteristic Technology. 1316
Daya subsequently received the sixth leadership seat in the Great Voyage Organization. 1317
Star Gate Command and Cosmic Advancement
Daya's growing status was demonstrated when it was assigned command of twenty civilizations while guarding the 712-616 Star Gate against Boundary Breaker forces. 1400
It later became a Cosmic Civilization, with the Super Daya and Soul Annihilation establishing it as a primary anti-Microscopic Demon force among its allies. 1483 1507
