Chaos Qi is typically perceived as ancient, pure, gray or hazy energy. Within the Chaos Bead, it forms an endless mist in which the origins of earth, water, fire, and wind intermittently manifest and annihilate. 15

History

Chaos Qi was first identified around Xuanwei when he was thrown into an ancient hall believed to be a Saint's dojo. The area's overwhelming energy included Innate Pure Qi and Primordial Chaos Qi, while its Dao laws restricted even the System's detection. 9

Xuanwei first gained the ability to draw upon a preliminary trace of Chaos Qi after his energy level surpassed twenty percent. He used it to temper his origin and forcefully create a temporary earth-element body, although the sudden energy influx nearly overloaded him. 7 Later, during Primordial Lord of Heaven's lecture, hidden wisps within his origin were stirred and gradually purified his immortal qi. 14

A trace of Chaos Qi became pivotal when Xuanwei used it on the jade fragment acquired from Bàishìtōng. The contact awakened the fragment as part of the Chaos Bead, whose chaotic laws nearly destroyed Xuanwei's origin before forcibly recognizing him as its master. 15 Afterward, Xuanwei relied on the bead and the Void Spirit Drawing Array to slowly convert ordinary spiritual energy into a sustainable, if limited, supply of Chaos Qi. 16 19

Chaos Qi became increasingly central to Xuanwei's later cultivation and conflicts. It strengthened the Chaos Bead, nourished the Light Cocoon, supported the Chaos Domain against Nine Nether Demonic Qi, and enabled Xuanwei to deceive the Western Teachings by simulating the aura of a Chaos Spiritual Treasure. 26 28 42 In the Guixu secret realm, he discovered a natural Chaos Qi vent whose superior energy rapidly restored both his immortal qi and the Chaos Bead's reserves. 49
