Creation

Zhou Jun, later identified as Shen Yuan, first conceived of opening an Abyss beneath the Sea of Blood where suppressed Chaos Gods and Demons could be contained 32. He opened it beneath Mount Zhou by borrowing Mount Zhou’s power through the Earth Veins, employing the Stone Tablet, his Creation Dao Charm, and his Earthly Dao comprehension 77.

The Stone Tablet released resentment from Chaos Gods and Demons into newly formed Clear and Turbid Qi. Zhou Jun shattered Di Kun’s Resentment Bead, adding resentment, Ferocious Beast remains, and blood; these materials combined with Gray Qi to form the Abyss’s first continent 77. As the Stone Tablet broke apart under accumulating Calamity Qi, Sha Qi, resentment, and Zhou Jun’s released desires, blood waterfalls descended over the fragmented land 77.

Growth and Settlement

The shattered Stone Tablet contained Di Kun’s record of the Ferocious Beasts’ origin and their ties to Chaos God and Demon resentment, allowing the Abyss to accept the Ferocious Beast race 79. Shen Ni led the Ferocious Beasts and the Beast Nest into the newly opened world, where they became native inhabitants and rapidly adapted to its environment 79.

Chaos God and Demon remains merged into the Abyss to accelerate its development. Great Dao Merit repaired damaged True Spirits, allowing residual spirits to be reborn there, but this expansion steadily reduced Shen Yuan’s direct control; he retained authority chiefly over the original Abyss beneath Mount Zhou 79. The world ultimately stabilized at roughly half the size of the Primordial Wilderness, with the Earth Dao taking charge of its mountains and rivers 79.

Di Kun later inscribed his own Abyssal Great Dao into the Abyss using a fragment of the Creation Jade Disk, recovering some control after verifying that no hidden Chaos God and Demon measures remained within it 91.

Emergence and Calamity

The Abyss developed a spatial passage toward the Primordial Land, enabling the Chaos Gods and Demons reincarnated within it to emerge 105. When the Reincarnation Demon God opened reincarnation in the Abyss with the Great Dao’s approval, Reincarnation Valley and the Reincarnation Disk expanded, rapidly increasing the world’s population 118.

Its connection to the Primordial Land led to the Abyssal Calamity. Abyssal creatures invaded through spatial rifts, while the Chaos Gods and Demons supported unusually intelligent creatures with mana-infused tokens that allowed them to command others 161. The conflict became a prolonged struggle across the Western Continent, with Abyssal factions adapting by studying the Primordial Land’s combat methods and magical treasures 161 173.

Fragmentation and Destruction

After the Chaos Gods and Demons entered the Primordial Land, Divine Abyss accelerated the Abyss’s expansion until continents formed from Chaos God and Demon remains began to fracture. The resulting instability drove Abyssal creatures through the spatial passage, leaving the realm nearly empty 168.

Divine Abyss merged the Abyssal Dao Fruit into the world and severed its connection to the Primordial Land, cutting off the Chaos Gods and Demons’ retreat 168. The world later continued expanding beyond stability; its barrier thinned while the colossal Dao Fruit at its center patched spatial fractures 176.

Following the Calamity, Luohu sent the World-Destroying Black Lotus into the Abyss. It became the World-Destroying Grinding Mill, which crushed the realm’s spatial rifts, fiendish energies, desires, and world origin before devouring and destroying the Abyss’s Dao Fruit 181.
