Ch. 619Heavenly Sword

Peter fought Carnage on the rocket, stripped him of most of his symbiote and diverted the rocket toward the Atlantic. As Carnage escaped his nanobot restraints, Captain Mar-Vell’s massive space battleship fired an enormous energy beam at the rocket.

  • Peter battled Carnage on the rocket and bound him beneath the engine exhaust with Serathok's Crimson Chains.
  • Peter used the Iron Spider suit's Arc Reactor to break Carnage's shield, then grabbed Cletus and activated the suit's molecular oscillator to strip away the symbiote.
  • Carnage's remaining symbiotes rejoined Cletus, but he could no longer control most of the infected hosts.
  • Peter used webbing and nanobots to trap Carnage, then flew clear while steering the rocket toward uninhabited waters in the Atlantic.
  • Coulson confirmed the NASA employees were no longer under Carnage's control and told Captain Mar-Vell to begin.
  • Captain Mar-Vell's sword-shaped space battleship entered the atmosphere and fired a huge energy beam at the rocket and Carnage.

Ch. 620Carnage's End

Peter thought he had killed Cletus with the Heavenly Sword Bureau's bombardment, but Carnage survived and attacked him. As their battle began, Cletus was drawn into a vision of Knull, while the Cosmic Agents on Klyntar learned of Knull's returning consciousness and prepared to investigate his seal.

  • Peter used the Heavenly Sword Bureau's battleship to bombard Carnage, then returned to check whether Cletus had died.
  • Cletus survived by using the Carnage symbiote to shield and regenerate himself, and he rushed at Peter.
  • Peter attacked with webbing and bioelectricity, but Carnage stabbed him and Cletus found himself before Knull's throne, surrounded by people he had infected.
  • The Cosmic Agents learned that a fragment of Knull's consciousness had returned and that many symbiote hosts were dying nearby.
  • The Cosmic Agents decided to travel to the planet where Knull was sealed and check whether the seal remained secure.

Ch. 621Lord of the Seven Seas!

Peter killed Carnage and helped the Bus team contain the remaining symbiote infections before going home to rest. Meanwhile, Coulson gave Ward experimental equipment that showed him an alternate past, and Namor prepared to demand compensation from the surface world.

  • Peter used an illusion to reach Cletus, severed his connection to the symbiotes, and purged them with Anti-Venom, killing Carnage for good.
  • Peter told Coulson that Carnage was dead and agreed to help with the remaining infections after resting.
  • Coulson congratulated the Bus team, then gave Ward experimental equipment that let him revisit past decisions.
  • Ward saw Coulson recruiting him in place of Garrett in the program and realized why Coulson had given him the device.
  • Namor dismissed an Atlantean general's request to attack humanity and declared that the surface dwellers would pay Atlantis compensation or face destruction.

Ch. 622Avengers Base

Peter visited Tony Stark at Avengers Tower and helped discuss the design and security plans for the new Avengers Base. Their conversation was interrupted by a massive wave and an approaching Atlantean force off the coast of New York.

  • Peter learned that Electro had received a death sentence while Mysterio and Rhino remained imprisoned in Mansion Prison.
  • Peter traveled to Baxter Building to replenish his nanobots, then went to Avengers Tower to see Tony Stark.
  • Peter advised Tony on the Avengers Base design, recommending glass exteriors and a more angular style.
  • Tony told Peter that the Avengers might move Mansion Prison to the Negative Zone or to the new base if a Negative Zone prison could not be built.
  • J.A.R.V.I.S. reported waves over thirty meters high and showed an Atlantean man leading underwater soldiers toward New York.
  • Tony put on his armor and asked Peter to investigate the approaching Atlanteans with him.

Ch. 623Fear the Lord of the Seven Seas!

Tony Stark and Peter Parker joined the Fantastic Four in confronting Namor after he brought a tsunami to New York to demonstrate Atlantis’s power. Namor and Atlantis withdrew, but Peter suspected the incident was not truly over; a later glimpse showed a weakened Namor asking the Avengers for help.

  • Tony Stark and Peter Parker headed toward the waters off New York while Captain explained Namor’s Atlantean identity and powers.
  • Namor defeated Johnny Storm, while Reed Richards and Susan Storm tried to manage the floodwaters.
  • Namor told Tony Stark and Peter Parker that Atlantis had suffered no casualties or economic losses and that he had come only to demonstrate its strength.
  • Namor and Atlantis withdrew, and the Fantastic Four and Avengers questioned his motives before returning to their work.
  • Peter reassured Gwen and Cindy, resumed patrolling New York, and wondered whether Namor’s stunt had another purpose.
  • A later glimpse showed a shriveled Namor arriving at Avengers Tower and asking the Avengers for help.

Ch. 624Steady Everyday Life

The Avengers discussed Namor’s mental state and the purpose of his attack, then Banner warned that Cube Prison appeared to be a research facility where Ross sought to create more Gamma monsters. As the group reflected on New York’s recent peace, Banner called it peaceful and the others feared his words would invite trouble, but nothing happened.

  • Tony said he had exaggerated Namor’s ocean protest to prevent the public from panicking, and Hank explained Namor’s psychological and oxygen-related problems.
  • Captain said Namor seemed to have come mainly to announce that he was still alive, while Tony joked about his devotion to the ocean.
  • Banner reported that Ross wanted Cube Prison to study Gamma prisoners and recreate Abomination, with Hulk as his preferred subject.
  • Banner said New York had been unusually peaceful, prompting the other Avengers to warn him that saying so could jinx them.
  • The Avengers waited for a minute after Banner’s remark, but nothing happened.

Ch. 625Children, Do You Still Remember the Ultimate Team?

Carol and Rhodey searched Harlem for Isaiah Bradley, hoping to recruit him as Patriot for the struggling Ultimate Team. Isaiah refused at first, but after Carol offered public vindication and a new suit on President Ellis’s behalf, he asked to hear the full terms.

  • Peter helped Carol and Rhodey locate an apartment in Harlem while patrolling New York.
  • Carol and Rhodey discussed the Ultimate Team’s lack of members and debated whether to recruit Ares.
  • Carol and Rhodey visited Isaiah Bradley, who recognized them and refused to join their team.
  • Carol offered to acknowledge the government’s wrongdoing, clear Isaiah’s name, and have him join as Patriot.
  • Isaiah asked Carol to explain all of the president’s demands so he could judge his sincerity.

Ch. 626Summer Slipped Away Quietly

In August 2013, Peter Parker reflected on New York’s unusual calm as J. Jonah Jameson criticized the government and Spider-Man. Mar-Vell contacted Peter to ask about Captain Marvel in other Spider-Verses and invited him to bring trusted friends to visit Heavenly Sword, leaving Peter to consider whom to take.

  • The government announced that Elijah Bradley would join the Ultimate Team as Patriot and publicly exposed and apologized for its Vietnam-era Super Soldier experiments.
  • J. Jonah Jameson mocked President Matthew Ellis and criticized the government’s handling of past scandals and the Ultimate Team’s resemblance to the Avengers.
  • Peter noted that New York had grown peaceful, George Stacy was poised to become precinct chief, and Gwen had nearly forgotten her band and summer fieldwork.
  • J. Jonah blamed Spider-Man for negligence involving a damaged rocket and Namor’s warning, and Peter chose not to argue back.
  • Mar-Vell called Peter to ask about Captain Marvel in other Spider-Verses and invited him to bring trusted friends to Heavenly Sword.
  • Peter considered calling Gwen but decided not to invite her because a Heavenly Sword visit would not fit her fieldwork report.

Ch. 627First Arrival at Heavenly Sword

Peter and Cindy visited the Heavenly Sword Agency, where Mar-Vell showed them his Skrull-detection research and asked Peter about his counterparts across the Spider-Verse. Peter told him that in most universes Mar-Vell developed cancer young and died from it.

  • Mar-Vell welcomed Peter and Cindy to the Heavenly Sword Agency and led them on a tour.
  • Cindy admired the view of the stars as Mar-Vell guided them through a greenhouse to his laboratory.
  • Mar-Vell showed Peter and Cindy a device designed to detect Skrulls and explained that Nick Fury wanted it deployed worldwide.
  • Peter joked about Fury wanting a Skrull wife, then learned that the agency had found no Skrulls on Earth.
  • Mar-Vell asked Peter about his variants in other universes, and Peter told him that most had died young from cancer.

Ch. 628Let Us Lie Together

Peter explained why Earth was hiding the Inhumans’ existence from Mar-Vell and sent him away worried about his health. He then visited the Moon with Cindy, while the Watcher revealed that a disaster brewing beneath the ocean traced back to Asgard.

  • Peter explained that Earth feared a Kree invasion if the Kree discovered the Inhumans were still alive, so S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers had kept their existence from Mar-Vell.
  • Peter told Mar-Vell that in the only universe he knew where Mar-Vell survived, the Many-Angled Ones revived him as a pathogen and he killed the concept of Death; Mar-Vell left to schedule a physical.
  • Peter told Cindy he wanted to visit the Moon to meet the Watcher, and explained that the Watcher would not interfere in their current situation.
  • The Watcher described how the Kree had once come to the Moon with the Skrulls and remembered Earth’s coordinates, then traced a terrifying disaster beneath the ocean back to Asgard.

Ch. 629God of Mischief

Loki and Amora planned to use Hydra and Roxxon to help Malekith seize the Nine Realms from Odin. Amora recruited Dario Agger by offering Roxxon access to the realms’ resources in exchange for excavating Laufey’s remains beneath Atlantis.

  • Loki learned from Amora that Malekith had conquered Jotunheim and two other realms, and that Odin had buried Laufey beneath Atlantis.

  • Amora revealed that she wanted Roxxon to excavate beneath Atlantis and retrieve Laufey’s bones so she could resurrect him.
  • Dario questioned how anyone could extract resources from Atlantis, and Amora suggested that Atlantis might become their ally.

Ch. 630Oil Will Proliferate

Dario Agger and Amora traveled to Svartalfheim to negotiate with Malekith, with Agger seeking unrestricted oil extraction rights and proposing a political alliance involving the United States. Amora offered Malekith Laufey’s corpse so he could resurrect and control the Frost Giants, and Malekith asked what Loki wanted.

  • Agger asked Amora about Svartalfheim’s geological activity and concluded it might contain vast oil reserves.
  • Agger persuaded Amora that oil could draw the United States into negotiations with Svartalfheim and help Roxxon oppose Tony Stark’s clean-energy efforts.
  • Agger and Amora arrived at Malekith’s palace, where Malekith addressed Amora as Loki’s lapdog.
  • Amora offered to bring Malekith Laufey’s corpse so he could resurrect Laufey and command the scattered Frost Giants.
  • Malekith asked what Loki wanted, and Amora said Loki wanted revenge.

Ch. 631The Fall of Atlantis

Aggar used Roxxon Energy Corporation to invade Atlantis and draw Namor into a conflict while Amora helped keep the gods from intervening. Krang’s sudden rebellion forced Namor to flee, leaving Atlantis on the verge of civil war as Aggar continued his plan to excavate Laufey’s corpse.

  • Aggar began drilling near Atlantis, and the Atlanteans attacked his submersibles after their warning was ignored.
  • Aggar ordered his forces to continue attacking, and his specialized bombs killed Atlanteans in their cities.
  • Namor confronted Aggar, who agreed to Namor’s demands and appeared willing to make peace.
  • Krang accused Namor of being unfit to rule, and the soldiers aimed their weapons at Namor, who fled.
  • Amora said an Atlantean civil war was likely, while Aggar continued drinking coffee and preparing to excavate Laufey’s corpse.

Ch. 632Frozen Atlantis

Namor confronted Krang after returning to Atlantis, but Krang used the Winter Box to freeze Namor’s army and seize the advantage. Thor rescued Namor, then confronted Loki over Amora’s theft of the Winter Box and learned that Odin may have permitted the plan.

  • Namor gathered the Abyssal Defenders, investigated the surface dwellers’ weapons, and returned with his army to confront Krang.
  • Krang opened the Winter Box and froze Atlantis’s army, leaving Namor struggling against the cold.
  • A beam from Avengers Tower struck Krang and vaporized his arm, while Thor brought the frozen Namor to the Avengers for help.
  • Heimdall told Thor that Amora had stolen the Winter Box and frozen Atlantis, so Thor went to confront Loki in his cell.
  • Loki denied that the theft was his idea and suggested Odin had allowed Amora’s actions.

Ch. 633Fimbulwinter

Peter joined the Avengers after learning about the Winter Box, an artifact capable of unleashing a world-spanning freeze, and heard Thor explain its connection to Ragnarok. The Avengers agreed to investigate the threat and assigned tasks, with Thor sent to scout Atlantis.

  • Peter left Gwen's house and teleported to Avengers Tower after receiving a message about an Avengers meeting.
  • Thor explained that Amora had given the Winter Box to Krang, who used it to freeze Namor's army during a rebellion in Atlantis.
  • Thor revealed Odin's prophecy that Baldur's death would be followed by Fimbulwinter and the eventual destruction of Asgard.
  • The Avengers questioned whether Odin had allowed the Winter Box to be stolen, while Thor admitted that the idea was only his guess.
  • Captain assigned Tony, Banner, and Pym to study the Winter Box, T'Challa to scan the Atlantic seafloor, Spider-Man to contact the Sorcerer Supreme, Wasp to reach other allies, and Thor to scout Atlantis.

Ch. 634Strange Was Powerless

Peter asked Strange for help stopping Amora and the Atlantean rebels from fully opening the Winter Box, but Strange said he could not close it and refused to use the Time Stone. As Peter prepared to leave, Strange offered to tell him about his progress investigating Mephisto’s visit to Earth.

  • Peter told Strange that Amora had stolen the Winter Box and given it to the Atlantean rebels.
  • Strange explained that closing the Winter Box required resisting its magical cold and warned that Fimbulwinter could weaken Odin.
  • Strange agreed to join Peter’s operation but refused to use the Time Stone, arguing that relying on it to reverse disasters would make people disregard consequences.
  • Peter accepted Strange’s refusal and prepared to leave, but Strange stopped him and offered an update on his investigation into Mephisto’s visit to Earth.

Ch. 635What the Devil Expected

Strange revealed that Mephisto had secretly made a fortune trading stocks and bought a stake in Roxxon, while Peter and the Avengers learned Roxxon’s drilling plans had sparked the Atlantis conflict. With the United States refusing to intervene and Roxxon’s permit legally valid, Tony sent Spider-Man to infiltrate its drilling platform and find evidence.

  • Strange told Peter that Mephisto had used magic to make hundreds of millions in the stock market and bought roughly three percent of Roxxon, but had done nothing else before being driven away.
  • Peter learned from Tony and Janet’s investigation that Roxxon’s planned deep-sea drilling site lay directly beneath Atlantis, and he and Strange considered whether Mephisto had foreseen the conflict.
  • Captain learned at the White House that the United States would not support Atlantis or revoke Roxxon’s extraction permit.
  • Captain told Tony that the Avengers could face legal trouble if they raided Roxxon’s facilities, so Tony secretly assigned Spider-Man to infiltrate the drilling platform and find evidence.

Ch. 636Investigation into Roxxon

Peter investigated Roxxon Energy Corporation’s Atlantis project and found evidence that the company had targeted a particular Atlantean city after cooperating with Amora. When Peter reached Avengers Tower, he found Hank Pym unconscious and learned that Namor had set off alone to reclaim Atlantis.

  • Peter proposed stealing the Winter Box so Namor could suppress the rebellion, and Strange warned him about the box’s danger and Loki’s possible larger conspiracy.
  • Peter investigated Roxxon’s Manhattan headquarters and found a government report about the drilling site issued only days earlier.
  • Peter contacted the Avengers to warn that Roxxon might have chosen the site because of its connection to Amora, but no one answered.
  • Peter reached Avengers Tower and found Hank Pym unconscious amid shattered glass.
  • Pym told Peter that Namor had knocked him out to stop him notifying the Avengers and had left to reclaim Atlantis.

Ch. 637Namor, What Are You Doing?!

Peter infiltrated Roxxon’s cruise ship to investigate its connection to the Winter Box and discovered the company had made a deal with Amora to gain access to the Mist Kingdom’s oil. As Thor confronted Roxxon, Peter found that Namor was attacking the ship, and Dario Agger appealed to Thor to save the workers aboard.

  • Peter flew to Roxxon’s cruise ship to find evidence that would justify the Avengers intervening over the Winter Box.
  • Peter discovered that Roxxon’s survey data was fabricated and overheard Amora discussing the company’s deal with Malekith for access to the Mist Kingdom’s oil.
  • Thor landed on the ship and demanded that Roxxon surrender the Winter Box and stand trial in Asgard.
  • Peter infiltrated the ship’s detector computer and found unusual changes in the surrounding environment as the ship began to shake.
  • Peter discovered that Namor was destroying the ship despite the hundreds of workers aboard, while Dario Agger begged Thor to save them.

Ch. 638They Fought!

Namor attacked a Roxxon ship, but Thor intervened and the two began fighting while Peter investigated Roxxon’s underwater survey. Peter traced its detector to Atlantis and confronted Amora aboard the ship.

  • Namor tried to destroy the Roxxon ship, but Thor stopped him and called him a victim, prompting Namor to attack Thor.
  • Thor and Namor fought as Aggar ordered the captain to keep working despite damage to the ship.
  • Peter told Captain that Thor and Namor were already fighting and suspected Amora had enchanted Namor.
  • Captain asked Peter to find what Roxxon was searching for, and Peter let the detector continue its survey.
  • The detector stopped above a building in Atlantis, and Peter sent its findings to Avengers headquarters.
  • Peter exposed himself to Amora when she tried to ambush him, then said he intended to arrest her.
