Background / History

The Saints were among the first powerful beings drawn to the anomaly above Buzhou Mountain. Two Western Saints jointly attempted to deduce the vanished thunderclouds but failed, despite their Saint status; Nuwa also investigated before departing without an answer 1.

After the Transformation Thunder Tribulation was established, Taiqing, Yuanshi, and Tongtian concluded that its origin could not be sensed through normal means and went to seek Hongjun's explanation 2. Taiqing and Yuanshi later invoked the Heavenly Mandate to request tribulations for their disciples, but the Heavenly Dao initially refused on the grounds that the proper time had not arrived 11.

The Saints repeatedly sought to recruit unusually gifted tribulation transceners. Their attempts to claim Kong Xuan and the Four Symbols Divine Tree failed when both chose allegiance to the Thunder Tribulation Heavenly Lord rather than joining a Saint lineage 23 56.

Their conflict with the Thunder Tribulation Heavenly Lord intensified after Hongjun revealed that neither he nor the Heavenly Dao controlled the Transformation Thunder Tribulation. Hongjun announced that its controller would receive a status equal to a Saint, provoking resentment and attempts to uncover his identity 36.

When the Heavenly Dao ordered the suppression of the Twelfth Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus, several Saints moved to sever its transformation opportunity. Mo Wen responded by activating the tribulations of numerous Dragon Race cultivators, using their gathering tribulation power to resist the Saints' intervention 96.

Taiqing, Yuanshi, Jieyin, Zhunti, and other supporters later sought Hongjun's help in reclaiming Thunder Tribulation Control. The Heavenly Dao instead admonished Mo Wen lightly and warned the Saints and Primordial Era powerhouses not to provoke him 102 105.
