Background / History

Mo Wen first obtained control of the Fragment of Heavenly Dao Authority after binding the Thunder Tribulation Divine Palace. The palace unlocked all nine layers of Thunder Tribulation, allowing Transformation Thunder Tribulations to be bestowed upon the myriad races. The Heavenly Dao publicly announced that successful transcenders could temper themselves, reduce karmic debt, and receive Heavenly Dao blessings. 2

Hongjun later declared that the unknown controller of the Thunder Tribulation would be enfeoffed as the Primordial Era Thunder Tribulation Heavenly Lord, with a status equal to a Saint. This announcement made the controller a target of fear, resentment, and envy among the Saints and major powers. 36

The Thunder Tribulation Heavenly Lord was formally created when Mo Wen condensed a Law Body from accumulated tribulation-related powers. The newly formed body possessed Great Luo Golden Immortal cultivation, controlled Transformation Thunder Tribulations and the Yin-Yang Thunder Pool, and assumed responsibility for arranging tribulations while Mo Wen's main body cultivated within the Primal Chaos Myriad Thunder Mountain. 109 111

As the Human Race became central to Mo Wen's plans, the Heavenly Lord used tribulation opportunities to support its growth. He ordered the construction of multiple Tribulation Transcending Platforms, delegated candidate selection to the Four Symbols Divine Tree, and secured Dragon Race support to maintain order at Mount Dongyue. 128 130

The Heavenly Lord repeatedly challenged the Saints' attempts to control tribulation authority. He defended the Twelfth Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus by combining numerous Dragon Race tribulations into a Demon God Shadow, allowing the Black Lotus to complete its transformation despite Heavenly Dao intervention and Saint pressure. 96 97

During the later Great Calamity, he continued to summon Thunder Punishment even after the Heavenly Dao went into hiding, protecting the Human Race against the Ferocious Beast Race.
