Ch. 701The World Outside

Chen welcomed Ibuki Suika and shared drinks with her before an energy pipeline rupture at Atlantis forced the coalition to begin its ascent early. As Atlantis rose beyond the Hakurei Great Barrier, the youkai saw the outside world, and an unfamiliar girl repeated a rumor about Chen and Reimu.

  • Yakumo Yukari introduced Ibuki Suika to Chen, and Suika accepted him as a friend after he drank her liquor and gave her alcohol from his world.
  • A rupture in Atlantis's second main Energy Pipeline released psionic energy, causing an explosion and a forest fire that Chen stopped with his power.
  • Chen, Yakumo Yukari, Reimu, Sandora, and the youkai prepared for the emergency ascent, with Reimu directing them away from the damaged zones.
  • Atlantis rose inside a protective shield, and the youkai passed beyond the Hakurei Great Barrier into the outside world.
  • An unfamiliar girl marveled at the cities below and told Chen that Shameimaru Aya had called him dangerous and claimed Reimu got pregnant just from talking to him.

Ch. 702They Returned

Atlantis reached high orbit as the exhausted yokai withdrew and the Empire prepared to assault the Abyss-infected city. The landing forces breached Atlantis’s failing defenses, and its warriors cried out as the Empire returned.

  • Shameimaru Aya photographed Atlantis’s climb into space, and the narrator offered her free Macro World travel privileges in exchange for changing an article in Aya’s News.
  • As the yokai’s strength waned and Atlantis’s shield dimmed, the Faith-class mothership brought the city into its high-orbit psionic field while black Abyss patterns began spreading over its shell.
  • Hakurei Reimu gave a confused evacuation order, so the narrator took command and the transport aircraft rescued the scattered yokai before Atlantis’s three-minute countdown expired.
  • After the yokai were retrieved, silver-white assault ships plunged into Atlantis as the city’s shield failed and Abyss monsters launched a final attack.
  • The Atlantis Warriors held their last defensive line and shouted, “They’re back!!!!” as the Empire’s forces descended.

Ch. 703Landing Battle, Rendezvous with Ares

The Empire’s forces and the Atlantis Warriors counterattacked the infected districts of Atlantis, driving back the Abyssal monsters while the narrator and Sandora supported them. After Ares’s warriors broke through and joined the allied forces, Ares asked the narrator to guide them.

  • Vega led the Armored Scorpions in a high-speed assault, landing among the Mutated Monsters and cutting them down.
  • The Atlantis Warriors received the order to counterattack, while the narrator suppressed the Abyssal mist and Sandora helped preserve their sanity.
  • Raven 001 fought beside the Armored Scorpions and explained how Leader Bees such as Aura could mimic other units’ abilities.
  • Sandora warned that the monsters in the area were mostly ordinary infected citizens and that stronger enemies were likely held elsewhere.
  • Ares led the Atlantis Warriors through a breached enemy line, and the warriors joined Sandora and the narrator.
  • Ares and his Giant Warriors prostrated themselves before the narrator and asked him to guide them.

Ch. 704Food Poisoning—What the Hell Are You Here For?!

Sandora’s forces reclaimed Sage Path and began restoring Atlantis’s city control system while the Gensokyo girls joined the battle against the monsters. The chapter ended with most of them suffering severe food poisoning after they grilled and ate Abyss-infected beasts.

  • Sandora ordered the wounded Atlanteans to prepare for battle, and Ares led them back to their positions.
  • Aura brought in a mass-produced Shilin Mainframe, which began connecting to Sage Path’s underground information matrix and trying to restart the city mainframe.
  • The narrator discovered that Yakumo Yukari had brought the Gensokyo girls to help fight the monsters, and they were holding a barbecue among the corpses.
  • The narrator learned that the Gensokyo girls had cooked and eaten Abyss-infected monsters, then explained that their unstable bodies could contain unpredictable substances.
  • Most of the Gensokyo monsters developed severe food poisoning, so the narrator called for medics and stomach medicine.

Ch. 705The Matter of Advancing the Front

After most of the Gensokyo reinforcements were incapacitated by poisoned barbecue, the remaining fighters joined the Imperial Army’s push through Atlantis’s Middle City District. As Sandora and the narrator headed to assess the contaminated Hades at Dawn Terrace, they found the giant artificial god still defending the chokepoint.

  • Most of the Gensokyo youkai collapsed from food poisoning, leaving only a little over thirty able to fight; Yukari withdrew to study chemistry while the narrator assigned the survivors to the Leader Bees’ command.
  • Sandora reported that the Imperial Army had captured the gateways into the Middle City District, while the Inner City remained overwhelmed by Abyss Energy and Zeus was still defending Olympus Mountain.
  • The narrator and Sandora reviewed Atlantis’s battle map and rejected Vega’s plan to cut directly through the city toward the impact point.
  • An Armored Scorpion reported that Hades had been contaminated by the abyss at Dawn Terrace, and Sandora ordered the narrator to accompany her there in hopes of saving him.
  • At Dawn Terrace, the narrator and Sandora found Vega’s forces holding the line and saw Hades, a towering figure armed with a scythe, defending the platform.

Ch. 706Wall of Sighs

The narrator’s forces rescued Hades by using Ding Dang’s Life Divine Power to suppress his uncontrollable Power of Death, then advanced through Atlantis toward the Wall of Sighs. Hades explained that the barrier protected the Inner City District and could be broken by a sufficiently powerful kinetic impact, but the Armored Scorpions’ attempts had only injured their tails.

  • Hades’s out-of-control Power of Death threatened the army, so the narrator threw Ding Dang at him and her Life Divine Power dispersed the Death Energy and knocked him unconscious.
  • Vega’s troops restrained and purified Hades with crystals, and he woke after several hundred purification crystals worked on him for about ten minutes.
  • Hades explained that the energy barrier called the Wall of Sighs surrounded the Inner City District and strengthened itself by absorbing attacks.
  • Sandora said the Wall of Sighs had weak resistance to kinetic energy, and Hades’s reaction to the battle map made the narrator veto Vega’s plan to charge straight ahead.
  • The army advanced through the damaged city and reached the Wall of Sighs, while the other force moved toward the fragment impact site.
  • Three Armored Scorpions had broken their tails trying to smash through the barrier with kinetic impacts.

Ch. 707A Rogue Gang Falls from the Sky

The group struggled to break the Wall of Sighs, a powerful shield protecting the remaining Enemy Territory. Lin’s repeated crashes finally shattered it, leaving her and Ilson hurtling into the Inner City District.

  • The Armored Scorpions’ tails broke against the Wall of Sighs, and the narrator found that attacks only strengthened its resistance.
  • Lin and the God Race Cops Five-Man Team arrived in a spectacular crash, but Lin lost one head’s intelligence and failed to break the shield with her first charge.
  • Viska explained the Wall of Sighs’ weaknesses, and Lin charged it again, damaging its energy circuitry but losing the rest of her intelligence.
  • Monina identified Ilson as the group’s strongest defender, and Lin carried him away as improvised protection for another charge.
  • Lin and Ilson crashed through the Wall of Sighs at supersonic speed, shattering it as they vanished into the Inner City District.

Ch. 708Sakuya Izayoi's Question

The forces entered the Inner City District, defeated a wave of corrupted Valkyries, and learned how the immortal warriors had been created. As the advance continued toward a Control Center, Sakuya Izayoi asked how the Gensokyo residents would be treated after the war, explaining that Remilia had foreseen disasters surrounding the narrator.

  • After Lin and Ilson vanished, the Armored Scorpions prepared to enter the Inner City District while Raven 001 and Aura searched for enemies.
  • Raven 001 attacked a tower, revealing winged Atlantean warriors who charged the formation and survived the Ravens' first barrage with their Energy Shields.
  • The Armored Scorpions overwhelmed the Valkyries in close combat, and Ares explained that the warriors could resurrect after their souls were placed in artificial bodies.
  • The group set out toward the nearest Control Center, with Hades guiding the ground forces through the Inner City District.
  • Sakuya Izayoi told the narrator that Remilia had seen disaster and calamity surrounding his recent past, then asked how he planned to arrange matters for Gensokyo after the war.
  • The narrator reassured Sakuya Izayoi that he was merely unlucky.

Ch. 709Anubis

The narrator’s squad fought Anubis while advancing through Atlantis City to restore its systems and reach the Twin Temple. They arrived at the Hall of Day and found the mother nest surrounded by battle damage and smoke.

  • The narrator and Sakuya Izayoi encountered Anubis, who teleported into the plaza and attacked with lightning.
  • Raven 001 and the Ravens coordinated a storm spell that destroyed the Anubis, though the warriors began regenerating afterward.
  • The squad advanced cautiously as the Shilin Mainframe restored control across the Inner City District and enemy attacks became less frequent.
  • The group reached the Hall of Day, where the narrator saw the mother nest amid shattered ruins, flames, and smoke.

Ch. 710We Reclaimed the City—Though There Was Still Some Trouble

The narrator and the Atlantis Warriors reached the ancient Shilin Mother Nest, where Lin and Ilson had defeated the corrupted defenders. The narrator brought the dormant Mother Nest online, but its system reported abnormalities and delivered a message that their daughter had gone missing again.

  • The narrator learned how Atlanteans revered the Mother Nest and its radiation rituals as divine customs.
  • Raven 001 noticed the plaza had been devastated, and Uncle Kenser found the sleeping Lin and unconscious Ilson among the ruins.
  • Ilson claimed he and Lin had wiped out the monsters, but Monina realized Lin had used him as a weapon while fighting.
  • The narrator connected the Mother Nest to Bubble’s system, overcame a failed remote-control attempt, and restarted the ancient facility.
  • The system reported damaged defenses, abnormal Valkyrie and Anubis status, and a message from Shadow Fortress saying their daughter had gone missing again.

Ch. 711Random in Life, Scripted in Death

The narrator searched Atlantis for Little Pao Pao after she wandered away from Bubble, then watched her and Gilgamesh survive an ambush thanks to a misfortune-reversal charm and Gilgamesh’s fighting. The chapter left the narrator reunited with his daughter while Gilgamesh stood stunned.

  • Bubble told the narrator that Little Pao Pao had gone missing and that she had apparently traveled to Atlantis.
  • Sandora reassured the narrator that Little Pao Pao carried a protective misfortune-reversal charm, while the brood nests restored Atlantis’s defenses and activated the city purification system.
  • The narrator spotted Little Pao Pao and Gilgamesh on surveillance footage as hundreds of Mutated Monsters, Valkyries, and Anubises surrounded them.
  • The monsters’ attacks repeatedly backfired, and Gilgamesh defeated the survivors with her Noble Phantasm before accidentally getting electrocuted inside a metal sphere.
  • Little Pao Pao threw herself into the narrator’s arms when he arrived, leaving Gilgamesh frozen in surprise.

Ch. 712The Final Battle

After reuniting with Little Pao Pao and Jillgamesh, the narrator joined Sandora’s forces for the final assault on Olympus Mountain. The Imperial troops pushed into the monster-infested slopes while Zeus remained unreachable at the summit.

  • The narrator returned to Daylight Hall with Little Pao Pao and Jillgamesh, where Ding Dang sent Jillgamesh off to play with Cirno.
  • Atlantis’s defenses restored order across the city, while Sandora assembled ground forces at Olympus Mountain and Vega prepared to extract the weakened Star Ring Fragment.
  • The narrator met Sandora and the Gensokyo group, and learned that Poseidon had been rescued but Zeus was still fighting at the summit.
  • Sandora ordered the Armored Scorpions to attack the monsters on Olympus Mountain, and the narrator led the remaining troops in behind them.
  • Armored Scorpions, Magical Girl Ravens, and Leader Bees fought through the mountain forests, overwhelming the exhausted monsters.

Ch. 713Mission Accomplished

Sandora and A Jun led their forces through Olympus Mountain, defeating the monsters guarding the Zeus Temple while the Empire reclaimed Atlantis and secured the Star Ring Fragment. The mission ended at the temple summit, where Zeus emerged and reported that his watch was complete.

  • A Jun destroyed Medusa power packs while Monina killed the remaining snake monsters by attacking their shadows with Shadow Executioner.
  • Ilson held off Harpies with his Holy Light Barrier, and Viska purified the swarm with a golden bow before the group advanced to the summit.
  • Imperial forces severed the Star Ring Fragment from the Atlantis floating island, began towing it away, and reported that the city was pacified and its regeneration factories restored.
  • Sandora declared the battle for Atlantis over as the Zeus Temple opened and Zeus emerged to salute the group.
  • Zeus announced that his mission was complete.

Ch. 714You Did Your Duty

Sandora and the narrator entered Zeus Temple, where Moragus had waited for the Empire for hundreds of thousands of years, and released him from his crystal tomb after acknowledging that he had fulfilled his duty. With Atlantis victorious and ready to return home, they recovered the dangerous Star Ring Fragment and left Tawell eager to study its unusually powerful Abyss Infection.

  • Zeus declared that he had completed his mission and led Sandora and the narrator into the temple’s control room.
  • Zeus explained that Moragus had merged with the Sunscorched Obelisk and waited for the Empire while guarding Atlantis’s control room.
  • Sandora and the narrator saluted Moragus and said, “You did your duty, soldier,” causing his crystal tomb and exhausted soul to disperse.
  • Zeus learned that his missions were complete, while Sandora and the narrator promised to take the people of Atlantis home.
  • The narrator sent Aura to retrieve Moragus’s research materials, and Sandora told Ares to prepare his people to return home.
  • The group recovered the Star Ring Fragment, and Tawell became eager to study its unusually concentrated Abyss Infection.

Ch. 715Aftermath

After Atlantis’s victory, Jun and Sandora attended a rite that sent the fallen onward, with Viska and Pandora helping ease the people’s fear of Viska. The group then prepared to settle Atlantis’s survivors in Avalon and discussed relocating Gensokyo residents displaced by the disaster.

  • Jun and Sandora returned to Atlantis for the Soul Calming Ritual, where the priest prayed over the fallen and prepared to complete the rite.
  • Viska and Pandora joined the ritual, using their psionic energy to crystallize and consume the bodies in blue flames as the dead became part of Atlantis.
  • Ares explained the Atlantean belief that the fallen’s bodies would power the city, and Sandora comforted Jun about the ritual’s meaning to the survivors.
  • Jun and Sandora chose Avalon as the future settlement for the people of Atlantis and set the floating island’s destination there.
  • Jun and Sandora briefed Gensokyo’s leaders on damage to Youkai Mountain and nearby homes, then proposed moving displaced youkai to Avalon despite Reimu’s efforts to secure more compensation.

Ch. 716The Doll Enthusiast Finally Met the Dolls

The Gensokyo residents arrived in Avalon to inspect their new home, where the narrator struggled to keep them from running wild and worried that Atlantis would block the sunlight. Alice Margatroid met Suigintou and her doll legion, then received an Imperial Military Academy recruitment notice.

  • The narrator brought the Gensokyo residents to Avalon aboard a transport carrier and agreed to reimburse Yakumo Yukari and Hakurei Reimu’s deducted bonuses in exchange for their support of the resettlement project.
  • Cirno and other yokai raced across Morning Wind Grassland, so the narrator tied them up before Atlantis emerged through the Space Rift and cast a vast shadow over the land.
  • Wen Wen flew up to photograph Atlantis, while the narrator and Sandora worried that the floating island would deprive Avalon of sunlight.
  • Qian Qian and the others greeted the narrator, and Suigintou complained that she had been kept aboard the ship instead of joining the fighting.
  • Alice Margatroid tried to examine Suigintou, who summoned the Three-Headed Suigintou Legion and overwhelmed Alice and her dolls.
  • The narrator stopped Suigintou’s attack and handed Alice a recruitment notice for the Imperial Military Academy’s Alchemy Department remedial class.

Ch. 717Qian Qian's Brilliant Idea and the Gensokyo Tour Group

Qian Qian suggested that Atlantis follow a daily route across Avalon so it would not block sunlight, and the group arranged for it to travel over sparsely populated areas. The Gensokyo residents toured Avalon and arrived at a prepared settlement near Fairy Forest, where the chapter left them ready to explore their new home.

  • Qian Qian proposed that Atlantis rise in the east and set in the west, and Sandora clarified that it could instead travel along a cyclical route through the sky.
  • The narrator assigned Aura to coordinate Atlantis's route with Zeus and invited displaced Gensokyo residents to settle in Avalon through a newly opened connection to Gensokyo.
  • Hakurei Reimu and Yakumo Yukari organized more than a hundred Gensokyo residents into a tour group and led them across Avalon's prairie.
  • The group hired unicorns for transportation, and the unicorns raced and jostled so wildly that Lilina had to threaten them with a pistol.
  • The tour group reached Fairy Forest, where the narrator introduced the Gensokyo residential district and its expanded housing, services, and transportation links.

Ch. 718Sorry You Had to See the Dark Side of Society

The narrator brought Gensokyo’s residents to a carefully built town in Avalon, where Imperial officers and commanders turned the welcome into a chaotic street market. After the narrator and Reimu broke up Sikaro’s scams, Artemis arrived and explained Cu Chulainn’s unusually quick mission completion.

  • The narrator showed Hakurei Reimu’s group the orderly new town built for Gensokyo’s residents in Avalon.
  • Vendors swarmed the visitors, and Orange Meow, Remilia, Flandre, Yuyuko, Youmu, Wen Wen, and Nazrin encountered food sellers, dubious products, and Sikaro’s fake antiques.
  • Reimu confronted Sikaro for swindling Nazrin, and the narrator, Pandora, and Viska joined in beating him.
  • Sikaro explained that he had filled the town with vendors to fulfill the narrator’s request for an Earthlike atmosphere, so the narrator ordered Pandora and Viska to keep kicking him.
  • Artemis arrived and reported that Cu Chulainn completed his mission after his Landing Craft fell into an active volcano and both he and the craft were blasted back out.

Ch. 719The Story of an Old Skeleton

The narrator and Qian Qian returned to Shadow City on the Carnival’s final day, where he unexpectedly met Zaken, a skeleton he had once known. Zaken explained that his zombie daughter Nina was recovering her soul after a drop of holy water began restoring her, though the narrator suspected the healing had nothing to do with Zaken’s prayers.

  • The narrator and Sandora returned from Gensokyo too late to enjoy most of the Carnival, while Gensokyo’s newcomers settled in Shadow City and Hakurei Reimu guided them around.
  • Qian Qian dragged the narrator out shopping, and the two visited the quieter Forsaken venue with Ding Dang.
  • The narrator recognized Zaken, who recounted how he and Nina had survived the war and how Nina had begun recovering after holy water touched her.
  • Zaken said he had prayed to the Life Goddess for two years and celebrated that Nina had learned to call him Daddy again.
  • The narrator asked whether Zaken had included his name and address in his prayers, then realized Nina’s recovery likely came from the holy water’s lingering effects.

Ch. 720Quite Joyful

The Head of State and Qian Qian spent the final day of the carnival wandering Shadow City, meeting the Forgotten and Hakurei Reimu before joining their family for the fireworks. Qian Qian’s time meddling delayed the show, which finally ended the carnival amid a chaotic celebration.

  • Zaken told the Head of State and Qian Qian about his happy life with his daughter and Bashali, and the Head of State reflected that the Forgotten had developed their own culture.
  • The Head of State and Qian Qian encountered Hakurei Reimu giving yokai a guide to Shadow City, and the Head of State threatened to punish her for neglecting her inspector duties.
  • As the carnival wound down, Qian Qian delayed sunset, then abruptly changed the sky to night, disrupting the schedule and forcing Bubble to correct the resulting time distortions.
  • The fireworks show began above the crowded Assembly Hall, displaying images and messages submitted by visitors from different worlds.
  • The Head of State’s family joined the fireworks celebration, where their firecrackers and reckless antics caused a string of mishaps.
  • The carnival ended in joyful chaos, and the Head of State could not deliver the closing speech because his head had been battered by the family.
