Background & History

Taichu originally bore the name Qi Wu. After Pangu opened Heaven and Earth, the Chaos Pearl fell in rank and Qi Wu's cultivation dropped drastically. Standing on the East Sea coast as the first living being of the newborn Primordial World, he renamed himself Taichu and swore to guard the world in Pangu's stead. The Great Dao acknowledged the vow with ten million acres of merit. 5

Taichu explored the newly formed world, visiting Pangu Hall and Buzhou Mountain. At Buzhou Mountain, he acquired the Primordial Chaos Measuring Heaven Ruler and spent one hundred thousand years refining forty-six of its forty-nine restrictions. 5 6

He subsequently preached the Dao across the Primordial Continent and Three Immortals Island, cultivating both the wider world and his own foundation. His discovery of the Chaos Scripture gave him a supreme Primordial Spirit cultivation method, complementing the body-refining Nine Revolutions Mysterious Origin Skill. 10

At Buzhou Mountain, Taichu was recognized by the Twelve Ancestral Witches as their uncle. Following his Third Sermon, he accepted the Giant Turtle Xuan Yuan as his first disciple and established the Dao Protection Sect on Three Immortals Island. 16

Personality

Taichu's defining principle is protection. His original oath binds him to the survival, flourishing, and Dao-completeness of the Primordial World, rather than personal dominion over it. He later explains that the Dao Protection Sect exists to prevent the extinction of the world's myriad races and preserve the integrity of its Dao. 5 17
