Personality
Taiyi is combative, proud, and impatient with negotiation. He repeatedly presses Dijun to resolve disputes through force, whether against Eastern Duke, the Ancestral Witches, or the Taiyin Star. His tendency to charge ahead creates openings for enemies, most notably when the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation captures him. 57 63 87
His pride is matched by genuine courage. He does not retreat from powerful opponents lightly, throws himself into dangerous battles, and is willing to risk his life to stop the berserk Spirit Devouring Beast. 66 71 179
Later experiences in Chaos temper his recklessness. When the Ancient Ruins Guardian warns him away from the core area, Taiyi responds respectfully and withdraws rather than escalating the confrontation. 182
Abilities & Skills
Eastern Emperor Bell
Taiyi’s principal treasure is the Eastern Emperor Bell, also called the Chaos Bell. Its chimes serve as both a battlefield weapon and a tool for controlling time and space.
- Its three chimes can fix time and space, allowing Dijun to evade Di Jiang’s spatial assault. 66
- The bell is described as possessing the power to imprison time and suppress space. 78
- Taiyi uses it to challenge formations, but the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation and Five Villages View’s spatial formation withstand or turn back his attacks. 63 78
- At Quasi-Sage Great Perfection, he pours his full mana into the bell to kill Wangshu and shatter the Taiyin Star’s defensive formation. 93
- In Chaos, he enlarges the bell and fills it with divine power to defeat the berserk Spirit Devouring Beast. 179
Sun True Fire
As a Sun Star powerhouse, Taiyi commands the Sun True Fire.
- His Sun True Fire suppresses Zhu Rong’s Heavenly Gods Fire during their confrontation. 66
- His firepower and close-combat strength let him cut through Great Luo Golden Immortals on the battlefield. 59
- He later uses the Chaos Bell to create Golden Crows while defending the Primordial Origin World. 269
Martial Prowess
Taiyi excels as an aggressive frontline fighter, often taking the lead when the Heavenly Court enters battle.
- He overwhelms Immortal Court Great Luo cultivators in direct combat. 59 62
- He can contend with major figures such as Di Jiang and Nether River Ancestor, though neither battle ends in a decisive victory for him. 66 71
- Against the Spirit Devouring Beast, he recognizes that he cannot win alone and organizes the merchant caravan’s cultivators into a coordinated defense. 179
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Eastern Emperor Bell / Chaos Bell — Taiyi’s defining Innate Treasure; controls time and space through its chimes and serves as his chief offensive weapon. 66 78
- Protective mark from Taichu — Granted before Taiyi enters Chaos; capable of withstanding an attack from a Half-Step Great Dao Realm expert. 174
Story Role / Major Arcs
Demon Court and Immortal Court conflict
Taiyi operates beside his elder brother Dijun as the Demon Clan rises. He urges immediate violence when Eastern Duke refuses to release Ji Meng, and the brothers’ treasures force the Immortal Court to retreat. 57
During the later campaign against Eastern Duke, Taiyi attacks the Immortal Court directly but is trapped in the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation. Dijun uses the Hetu Luoshu to open an escape route, allowing Taiyi to withdraw. 63
Conflicts with the Ancestral Witches
After reaching the Quasi-Sage realm, Taiyi clashes with Di Jiang, Zhu Rong, and Hou Tu. His Sun True Fire suppresses Zhu Rong’s flames, but Di Jiang’s mastery of the Law of Space prevents Taiyi from securing victory; Dijun ultimately orders a retreat after Di Jiang breaks through. 66
Taiyi later battles Nether River Ancestor for Primordial Purple Qi. Though his bell pressures Nether River, the confrontation demonstrates that the Karma Fire Red Lotus can withstand his strongest attacks. 71
Seizure of the Taiyin Star
Taiyi leads the Heavenly Court’s first attempt to seize the Taiyin Star for the Starry Sky Great Array. Wangshu ultimately overwhelms him, while the appearance of Xihe and Changxi on lotus thrones warns the Heavenly Court of the Dao Protection Sect’s involvement. 87
After advancing to Quasi-Sage Great Perfection, he returns to the Taiyin Star. He kills Wangshu with the Eastern Emperor Bell, breaks the star’s formation, defeats Xihe and Changxi, and takes a wisp of the Taiyin Star’s origin. 92 93
Resurrection and service under Taichu
Taiyi is later described as having died to fulfill the Witch–Demon Calamity before being resurrected. Alongside Dijun and Kunpeng, he pledges himself to Taichu’s cause. 139
When Taichu allows him to choose his own path, Taiyi declares his ambition to conquer Chaos. Taichu instead advises him to reach the Heavenly Dao Realm first, then grants him a protective mark before permitting him to travel alone. 174
Chaos travels and the Ancient Ruins
While seeking a breakthrough in Chaos, Taiyi rescues a Starlight Merchant Guild caravan from a God Emperor Realm Spirit Devouring Beast. He declines material payment and joins the caravan to seek opportunities in the Chaos Ancient Ruins. 179
In the ruins, Taiyi forms a temporary partnership with Thunder Flame God King. They overcome ancient beasts, traps, black specters, and the deceptive Kongling Divine Lord’s bait before Kui Cow intervenes to save them. 180 181 182
Taiyi later respects the Ancient Ruins Guardian’s warning not to enter the core area and returns to the Primordial Origin World after Thunder Flame God King departs to report the anomaly. 182
