Background / History

Six-Eared Macaque first appeared on Taichu Mountain as a golden-furred young monkey defending a herd of Shi Tie Beasts from minor demons. Though frightened and only an early Golden Immortal, he stood at the front of the herd and fought the stronger demon leader to a standstill. Taichu noticed both his courage and his nature as one of the Four Monkeys of Chaos. 36

After joining the Dao Protection Sect, he was introduced to Xuan Yuan and Caifeng as Taichu's disciple. A century later, he accepted Taichu's offer to fuse the corpse of the Chaos Demon Ape into his body, despite the risk of death and a millennium of pain. The refinement remade his body, raised him to the early Primordial Golden Immortal realm, and granted him the Law of War. 48

Taichu later assigned him to the Witch Clan as a sparring partner for the Twelve Ancestral Witches. He suppressed his cultivation to the early Great Luo Golden Immortal stage so that they could train against him, yet still overwhelmed Di Jiang with a single counterpunch. There, a surviving light-form ancestor revealed that he belonged to a branch of the Demon Ape Clan and that the clan had been destroyed after the Old Ancestor fought beside the White Emperor.
