Saints stand beyond ordinary cultivators in both power and quality of Magic Power. Even a million Quasi-Saints may be unable to contend with one, while a Sage's Magic Power is vastly purer than a Quasi-Saint's. 16 125

Heavenly Dao Sages

A Heavenly Dao Sage entrusts their Primordial Spirit to a world's Heavenly Dao. This grants a continual supply of Magic Power, replenishing expended power and keeping the Sage at peak condition. 237 313

• A Sage can employ Heavenly Dao authority and Sacred Talismans; Hongjun suppressed the Otherworldly Sage Candle Dragon with a Heavenly Dao Sacred Talisman. 219
• A Sage's status can make even highly meritorious beings difficult to target, as killing them risks Destiny loss and karmic entanglement. 56
• Hongjun's intervention with the Zixiao Talisman ended the Ancestral Witches' challenge to the Rulers of Reincarnation and recognized the latter as Lords of Reincarnation. 196

Vulnerabilities

• Saints remain beneath the Heavenly Dao itself; merging with it risks assimilation rather than independent transcendence. 237
• Saint status does not prevent karmic consequences. The Sages attacking Buzhou Mountain accumulated karma that could bring Heavenly Tribulation or Heavenly Punishment. 348
• A Sage whose Primordial Spirit is tied to a Heavenly Dao may need to abandon their Saint position if that Heavenly Dao is destroyed or absorbed by another world; otherwise, they perish with it. 351 359
• Abandoning a Saint position causes a severe loss of cultivation. Taishang fell to the early Hunyuan Grand Unity Golden Immortal stage, while Nuwa fell to Peak Quasi-Saint. 373

Otherworldly Sages

Otherworldly Sages derive their status from a Heavenly Dao outside the Primordial Era rather than from the Primordial Era's own Heavenly Dao.

• Candle Dragon — Obtained and refined an otherworldly opportunity, becoming an Otherworldly Sage before being suppressed by Hongjun at the East Sea's Sea Eye. 218 219
• Minghe — Claimed an Otherworldly Saint Position that fell into the Primordial Era and became the third Heavenly Dao Sage of that world. 308 312
• Otherworldly Sages receive only one-tenth of the Merit that a native Sage would gain for the same contribution in the Primordial Era. 219

Notable Saint Figures

• Hongjun — Identified as the sole Heavenly Dao Sage during the conflict over the Six Paths of Reincarnation; later sought to merge with the Heavenly Dao. 196 237
• Candle Dragon — An Otherworldly Sage whose confidence and attempt to destroy Haotian led to Hongjun's intervention. 218 219
• Taishang, Primordial, Tongtian, Nuwa, Jieyin, and Zhunti — Six Heavenly Dao Sages who later abandoned their Saint positions when their world began merging with a parallel Primordial Era. 351 373
