Background / History

Lu Yang was a man from Earth who transmigrated after a plane crash. He awakened during the Primordial World's early formation as the Sun Star born from Pangu's left eye, before the Heavenly Dao had come online. Unable to simply abandon his cosmic body without risking chaos in the world below, he accepted the Sun Star as his Origin/Foundation. 1

He used his early comprehension of the Heavenly Dao to establish a cultivation framework divided between body cultivation, Primordial Spirit cultivation, and Dao cultivation. As the Sun Star illuminated the Primordial Era, he accumulated immense Merit and grew alongside the expanding world. 1 2

After condensing the Sun Primordial Spirit, Lu Yang began creating Three-legged Golden Crow avatars so he could travel, cultivate, and involve himself in the Primordial World's developing factions without exposing his main body. Lu Ya entered the Phoenix Clan, Di Jun and Donghuang Taiyi founded the Monster Race Heavenly Court, and Panhu became the thirteenth sworn sibling of the Twelve Ancestral Witches. 11 73 76

Lu Yang eventually proved the Hunyuan Dao Fruit, concealed his existence from the wider Primordial Era, and used Hongjun's sealed Inner Demon to obtain knowledge of Hongjun's methods and schemes. When the Sages finally discovered that the Sun Star was alive, Lu Yang had already become strong enough to suppress them. 157 168 298 327

After advancing to the Hunyuan Limitless Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm, he assimilated the Moon Star and began expanding his Origin/Foundation beyond the Sun Star. He later annexed parallel Primordial Eras, obtained Great Dao Spiritual Light, upgraded the Primordial Era into an intermediate Limitless World, and set foot upon a Path of the Great Dao. 340 350 372 375 382

Appearance

Lu Yang's true body is the Sun Star rather than a humanoid form. His Primordial Spirit manifests as an immense golden sphere of light, deliberately kept to a diameter of only tens of billions of miles within the Sun Star's largest internal space. 3 77

  • His body is a blazing celestial star whose surface is covered in flames, heatwaves, mountains, and abundant Innate refining materials. 168
  • His Primordial Spirit is a golden sphere rather than a human-shaped soul. 3
  • His presence and aura can be concealed so thoroughly that even powerful cultivators may fail to identify the Sun Star as a living being. 195 298
  • After forging the Supreme Dao Body, both his Origin and Primordial Spirit become formless and intangible to beings beneath the Great Dao. 377

Personality

Lu Yang initially reacts to becoming the Sun Star with bewilderment and frustration, particularly because he cannot readily assume human form and must remain in place to preserve the world's balance. The isolation of illuminating the Primordial Era also leaves him bored enough to view trespassers as occasional entertainment. 1 2 3

As his strength grows, he becomes increasingly detached, seeing mountains, fierce beasts, and the struggles of ordinary beings from the perspective of an overwhelmingly vast celestial body. He nevertheless remains inquisitive, studying the Primordial World, its hidden forces, and unfamiliar cultivation paths. 3

He is highly pragmatic and patient in pursuit of the Great Dao. Lu Yang plans across Calamities, cultivates numerous fallback avatars, exploits opportunities such as Hongjun's Inner Demon and Yang Mei's Dao Fruit power, and is willing to manipulate major factions or the Heavenly Dao itself when doing so advances his goals. 129 138 157 338

  • Law of Fire — His deepest and most compatible law; it leads his understanding of the Five Elements and the Great Dao of Fire. 11 48 203
  • Law of Light — One of his more developed laws, second only to Fire among those explicitly listed. 48
  • Law of Time — Comprehended using the Cosmic Light Wheel Fragment; he can freeze and regress a target's time, though his initial practical use is limited. 48
  • Law of Space — Deepened through the Universe Light Wheel Fragment and observation of Dijiang's Space Law. 115
  • Five Elements Laws — His Fire Law is strongest, while his understanding of Water, Earth, Gold, and Wood grows substantially through the Innate Five Directions Banners. 161 293

Avatar Creation and Three Corpses

Lu Yang creates avatars to act independently throughout the Primordial World and Outer Chaos. Their shared origin allows their achievements to benefit his main body. 73 164

  • Lu Ya, Di Jun, Donghuang Taiyi, Panhu, Maha, Chi Yang, and numerous Golden Crows operate as extensions of his influence. 76 100 285
  • His Obsession Corpse is a Chaos Golden Crow known as Hun Wu. 178
  • His Good and Evil Corpses are collectively known as the Two Forms Two Sages. 190
  • He can manifest hundreds of millions of Three-legged Golden Crow avatars, ranging from Grand Unity Golden Immortals to Quasi-Sages, and organize them into a Sun Array. 366
  • Distance from the Primordial Era weakens his control over avatars and can eventually sever their connection to him. 294

Heavenly Dao Manipulation

Through the Sun Star's special status and his cultivation, Lu Yang can interact with, exploit, and at times direct Heavenly Dao power.

  • He used the Eye of the Firmament and the Power of the Firmament to “mend the heavens,” receiving Merit, Destiny, and a Heavenly Dao Mark. 40
  • He established the Inner Demon Tribulation for all living beings, improving the Heavenly Dao and gaining substantial Merit. 171

Artifact Refining and Arrays

Lu Yang is an accomplished artifact refiner who also develops powerful formations and divine movement techniques.

  • He refined the Four Swords of Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind as Top-grade Merit Spiritual Treasures. 77
  • The swords can kill without incurring Karma, suppress Destiny, and offset Karma at the cost of their stored Merit. 77
  • He created Soaring Golden Light, a divine ability that allows Lu Ya to cross millions of miles in an instant. 28
  • He developed the Rainbow Transformation Art, which becomes faster when the user is bathed in sunlight. 28
  • His avatars employ formations including the Myriad Manifestations Great Array and the Sun Array. 28 366

World Assimilation and Creation

Lu Yang's later cultivation centers on making worlds and celestial bodies part of his Origin/Foundation.

  • He assimilated the Moon Star through the connection between Sun and Moon Origins, gaining the Two Forms Dao Body. 339 340
  • He can communicate with parallel Primordial Eras and draw upon their Sun and Moon Stars for power. 346
  • He began annexing a parallel Primordial Era by sacrificing its Hongjun to the Heavenly Dao. 350
  • He used Great Dao Spiritual Light to upgrade the Primordial World and stabilize its rules during a Chaos Tribulation. 375 376
  • He can create low-level Limitless Worlds in Chaos and merge them into the Primordial Era. 378
