Background

Taiqing originated as a peculiar transmigrated soul absorbed by Pangu shortly before Pangu transformed into all things. When Pangu's Primordial Spirit divided into three, the first portion fused with that soul and became Taiqing. Pangu entrusted him with protecting his younger siblings, maintaining the Great Desolation, and preserving their family legacy. 1

Aware of a future in which the Three Pure Ones would fall under Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao's control, Taiqing accepted his new identity and cultivated urgently. He emerged from Kunlun Mountain hundreds of thousands of years later, bearing the Heaven and Earth Profound Yellow Exquisite Pagoda, the Taiji Diagram, and a Taiyi whisk. 1

Before Yuqing and Shangqing emerged, Taiqing accidentally absorbed portions of their origins while strengthening himself. This produced the divine ability One Qi Transforms into Three Pure Ones. He then painfully divided his own origin and exchanged portions among all three brothers so they could each develop the same ability. 1 2

Pangu's will later directed Taiqing toward the Law Path to Sainthood, explaining that the Three Immortal Islands could shield cultivators from the Heavenly Dao's suppression. Taiqing subsequently refined a fragment of Pangu Marrow, greatly strengthening his Physical Body and reinforcing his determination to unite the Three Pure Ones and Twelve Ancestral Witches against the Heavenly Dao. 9 14

Taiqing's early departure from Kunlun Mountain with the Three Pure Ones' World-Opening Supreme Treasures disrupted Hongjun's plans and indirectly changed the Dragon-Han Calamity. Ancestral Dragon, Primordial Phoenix, and Beginning Qilin survived, their clans preserved much of their strength, and all three leaders gained portions of heaven-and-earth authority after swearing to address the Great Desolation's crises. 16

Taiqing is protective of his siblings and consistently plans around their collective survival. His early actions—sharing his origin with Yuqing and Shangqing, seeking Pangu's guidance, and giving the Ancestral Witches spiritual treasures—reflect his belief that the Pangu descendants must remain united against the Heavenly Dao and Hongjun. 2 9 70

He is pragmatic, cautious, and openly scheming when weaker than his enemies. He conceals his information from dangerous reincarnated Chaos Demon Gods, flees rather than confronts Old Ancestor Wuxing, and regards superior plotting as necessary to resist the Heavenly Dao and Hongjun. 10 12 22

Taiqing can also be bluntly acquisitive and manipulative. He asked Pangu for “ten or eight” Chaos treasures, uses Pangu's name to support his plans, and fabricated a supposed Pangu plan to enlist five Hunyuan Celestial Venerables in building protective worlds. 9 223 433

He regards the recruitment and careful instruction of talented disciples as both a duty of enlightenment and a strategic necessity. Rather than allow capable beings to be claimed or manipulated by hostile forces, he brings them into his lineage, provides suitable inheritances and spiritual treasures, and cultivates them as future protectors of the Great Desolation. 268 289 295 316

Taiqing also prioritizes the long-term prosperity of the Human Race. In establishing the Human Sect, he specifically instructed Xuandu to place his identity as a human before his status as Taiqing's disciple. 594

Despite his calculating nature, Taiqing shows substantial compassion toward those who can be redeemed. After Luohu's defeat, he refused to slaughter the captured demonic slaves, purified their demonic corruption with the light of morality, and allowed them to cultivate anew under Kunlun Mountain. 706 710

His compassion does not extend indiscriminately to aggressors. When foreign Cosmic Worlds invade to plunder the Great Desolation during its ascension, he orders the defenders to show no mercy. During the journey, the Ink Jade Qilin's service frees him to study the Five Elements, while Ao Jiang supplies information that helps him locate Penglai. The Three Pure Ones exploit the conflict between Hongjun and Luohu to seize the Black Lotus, God-Slaying Spear, and Four Swords of Zhu Xian. Dao achievement and protection of the Great Desolation

Taiqing gathers the Innate Five Directional Banners, receives Chaos essence through the Chaos Green Lotus phantom, achieves Dao as a Daluo Golden Immortal of the Origin, and develops his internal Great Thousand World. 507 509

His attainment produces purple qi in Chaos and manifestations across countless worlds. The accompanying Dao Sound recounts his emergence, unity with the Three Pure Ones and Ancestral Witches, and establishment of Daoism. 508

Open conflict with Hongjun

After concealing his advancement, Taiqing confronts Hongjun in Chaos and merges with his brothers as Taichu. By combining the Three Pure Ones' Heaven-Opening Intent and arsenal of supreme treasures, they overturn Hongjun's planned suppression and prevent his attempted self-destruction. 527

The brothers later open the Witch God Realm and return toward the Great Desolation. Haotian and Yaochi attempt to delay them, but Taichu counters their treasures with the Primordial Gourd, Chaos Star Bead, and Heart of Life. 549 550

During the Southern Continent battle, Hongjun publicly identifies Taichu as the Three Pure Ones' fusion, forcing observers to reinterpret their earlier schemes. Taiqing's Taishang incarnation then kills Haotian and Yaochi, preventing Yaochi's self-destruction from devastating the Great Desolation. 562 563 567

Wuxing's atonement

Fearing the consequences of his earlier attempt to rob Taiqing, Wuxing asks Hong Yun to mediate. Taiqing turns the settlement into a benefit for the world by requiring top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures and work stabilizing the Great Desolation's Five Elements. 584 585

Human Sect

Taiqing accepts Xuandu and establishes the Human Sect as a branch of Kunlun Mountain's Daoism. He also establishes the Golden Core Dao and Martial Dao for the Human Race and other beings of the Great Desolation. 594

These acts fulfill part of his enlightenment duty and loosen his cultivation shackles. At the same time, he remains alert to the Heavenly Dao's intended use of the Elucidation Sect to influence Yuqing, who declines to establish that sect at this stage. 595 596

Through the combined incarnation Daoist Taishi, Taiqing and his brothers venture into Chaos and recruit Shi Ritian and the Martial Ancestor into Taiqing's lineage. Conflict with Luohu and redemption of the demonic slaves

When Luohu attempts to use the Shichen Sundial and Time Long River against the Great Desolation, Taiqing summons Taichu through the Three Pure Ones Great Array to oppose him. After Luohu escapes, Taiqing takes custody of the surviving demonic slaves, purifies them, and gives them the opportunity to cultivate anew. 703 706 710

Eternal Night Realm and Four Poles defense

Taiqing joins the Three Pure Ones and Twelve Ancestral Witches in responding to the Eternal Night Realm's defenses and the Heavenly Dao's accumulating threat. He later channels Sanqing's Origin-realm power into the damaged Heaven-and-Earth Four Poles Grand Formation to stabilize the Great Desolation. 757 765

Taiqing joins the Three Pure Ones and Twelve Ancestral Witches in establishing a Martial Dao tournament at Witch City. The event brings together cultivators from numerous races and traditions so that they may sharpen their combat abilities, identify flaws in their Daos, and seek breakthroughs. 808

The tournament validates this approach when the Six-Eared Macaque breaks through during combat, followed by Kong Xuan, the Golden Winged Great Peng Bird, and Taixu. Taiqing publicly announces the advancements, emphasizing the role of real battle in Dao cultivation. 809

Revealing concealed strength

During the Great Desolation's ascension crisis, Taiqing reveals that the Three Pure Ones and Twelve Ancestral Witches had long concealed their true accumulation. Taichu reaches the Ninth Heaven peak of the Limitless Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal of the Origin, while Taiqing ultimately stands in Chaos at the peak of that realm with the complete Chaos Green Lotus. 859 875

Before this revelation, Taiqing orders the Innate Five Virtues Returning to Origin Formation activated to meet pressure from both inside and outside the world. The ripple of perfection later strengthens not only Taiqing but also the defensive alliance, raising Xuandu, the Six-Eared Macaque, Kong Xuan, and many other disciples and Great Witches to higher Heavens. 843 877

Taichu subsequently advances to the Supreme Third Heaven and cuts through the Chaos Beast formation. Once the external tide no longer requires their combined strength, the brothers dissolve Taichu, and Taiqing suppresses scattered beasts individually with a Xuanhuang law curtain. 882 884

Following the Great Desolation's ascension, Taiqing's Kunlun Mountain cultivation grounds stand at the heart of Daoism's presence on the prosperous Eastern Continent, with Yuqing's Jade Void Palace and Shangqing's Biyou Palace on either side. 898

During the standoff at Two Realms Mountain, the brothers' interwoven powers support the eastern alliance's law networks and exert enough pressure to help force Wutian Demon's general to withdraw and reorganize. Younger generations of the Three Pure Ones' lineages, including disciples of the Six-Eared Macaque and Taixu, then demonstrate their inherited techniques in the continuing battle. 899 900

Foreign Cosmic Worlds and world capture

In Chaos, Taiqing identifies the foreign armies as invaders drawn by Luohu's Seven Emotions and Six Desires Incarnation to plunder the Great Desolation during its ascension. He separates their law pathways from those of the Great Desolation and orders a decisive counterattack by the Three Pure Ones and Twelve Ancestral Witches. 907

After the armies of more than ten Cosmic Worlds are destroyed, he channels their fallen Origins into the Great Desolation's law network. Recognizing that their Dao Integrators can return as long as their worlds survive, he sends allied avatars to seize the damaged worlds and draw them through Chaos for merger into the Great Desolation. 908

Luohu's incarnations attempt to obstruct the operation, but they fail to breach the guiding defensive line. Taiqing maintains the routes with his fly whisk and Xuanhuang Qi, enclosing the moving worlds in a vast net. He regards either their integration or their destruction in resistance as sufficient to remove the Dao Integrators' rebirth foundations. 911 912

Central Continent discipleship contest

Taiqing turns his attention to a naturally condensed being possessing all Five Elements at the Central Continent's core. Through his avatar, he argues that Dao Follows Nature is suited to preserving its innate origin and balanced Five Elements cycle, unlike acquired elemental teachings or water-specialized methods. 915 916

The contest escalates into an avatar battle with the reincarnated Chaos Demon God experts. Taiqing repeatedly blocks their techniques with Xuanhuang shields and dismantles their powers and avatars with concentrated pillars. The defeated rivals concede the Three Pure Ones' mastery and withdraw, while their origin essences return to their true bodies. 918

Taiqing subsequently accepts the principle of joint teaching, acknowledging that his natural Dao, the five relevant Ancestral Witches' Pangu bloodline, and Wuxing's Five Elements Law can harmoniously support the new beings' development. 920

Renewed Heavenly Dao vigilance

Taiqing notices that the Heavenly Dao Origin Space is recovering its former depth and breadth, bringing the Heavenly, Earthly, and Human Daos toward balance. Neither he nor his brothers can divine the source of the renewed power. 922

As the Heavenly Dao's consciousness also begins to recover, the brothers consider cooperation with the Ancestral Witches and reincarnated Chaos Demon God experts sufficient to stabilize the Great Desolation's law network while erasing that consciousness. Meanwhile, Taiqing's disciples continue defending the New Three Realms against the armies of ten Universe Worlds, applying their distinct Daos to dismantle the enemy across every part of the battlefield. 922 929
