Background

Taiqing originated as a peculiar transmigrated soul absorbed by Pangu shortly before Pangu transformed into all things. When Pangu's Primordial Spirit divided into three, the first portion fused with that soul and became Taiqing. Pangu entrusted him with protecting his younger siblings, maintaining the Great Desolation, and preserving their family legacy. 1

Aware of a future in which the Three Pure Ones would fall under Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao's control, Taiqing accepted his new identity and cultivated urgently. He emerged from Kunlun Mountain hundreds of thousands of years later, bearing the Heaven and Earth Profound Yellow Exquisite Pagoda, the Taiji Diagram, and a Taiyi whisk. 1

Before Yuqing and Shangqing emerged, Taiqing accidentally absorbed portions of their origins while strengthening himself. This produced the divine ability One Qi Transforms into Three Pure Ones. He then painfully divided his own origin and exchanged portions among all three brothers so they could each develop the same ability. 1 2

Pangu's will later directed Taiqing toward the Law Path to Sainthood, explaining that the Three Immortal Islands could shield cultivators from the Heavenly Dao's suppression. Taiqing subsequently refined a fragment of Pangu Marrow, greatly strengthening his Physical Body and reinforcing his determination to unite the Three Pure Ones and Twelve Ancestral Witches against the Heavenly Dao. 9 14

Taiqing is protective of his siblings and consistently plans around their collective survival. His early actions—sharing his origin with Yuqing and Shangqing, seeking Pangu's guidance, and giving the Ancestral Witches spiritual treasures—reflect his belief that the Pangu descendants must remain united against the Heavenly Dao and Hongjun. 2 9 70

He is pragmatic, cautious, and openly scheming when weaker than his enemies. He conceals his information from dangerous reincarnated Chaos Demon Gods, flees rather than confronts Old Ancestor Wuxing, and regards superior plotting as necessary to resist the Heavenly Dao and Hongjun. 10 12 22

Taiqing can also be bluntly acquisitive and manipulative. He asked Pangu for “ten or eight” Chaos treasures, uses Pangu's name to support his plans, and fabricated a supposed Pangu plan to enlist five Hunyuan Celestial Venerables in building protective worlds. 9 223 433

He regards the recruitment and careful instruction of talented disciples as both a duty of enlightenment and a strategic necessity.
