Background / History

Luohu manipulated the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans into fighting for supremacy in order to harvest the Sha Qi and Calamity Qi of their war. He used these forces to refine the Four Swords of Zhu Xian and prepare for his eventual struggle against Hongjun over the position of Dao Integrator of the Heavenly Dao. 2

Luohu led the Demon Cult during the Immortal-Demon Conflict and prepared to fight Hongjun with the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation, the God-Slaying Spear, and a large demonic force. His plans once included detonating the Western Continent’s earth veins, but Beginning Qilin’s intervention ruined that contingency. 30

After the Heavenly Dao merged with the Demonic Path, Luohu could again manifest a physical body in the Demon Realm. The Heavenly Dao released him to manage demonic affairs and sow discord among the Hunyuan Celestial Venerables, though it retained control over both Luohu and the Demonic Path. 371

Luohu secretly replaced himself with Jidu under the Heavenly Dao’s watch, then hid beneath Little Western Heaven and drained its earth veins of Innate Spiritual Qi. His concealment failed when a trace of his aura leaked while he investigated heavenly secrets. Heavenly Punishment pursued and seemingly annihilated him, but he escaped into Chaos by abandoning his body and transforming from a severed foot. 427 476 478

In Chaos, Luohu returned to the cultivation path of the Chaos Demon Gods, rebuilding himself through preserved flesh and blood, devoured worlds, hidden secret realms, and remnants of his old power. His ultimate objective remained the Great Desolation World and Pangu’s Dao Fruit of Opening Heaven. 590 612 753

After repeatedly recovering from defeats by Taishi Daoist and Daoist Taichu, Luohu found a second secret realm and a Pill Dao world, allowing him to return to the eighth layer of the Zenith Heaven Primordial Golden Immortal realm. He then led his demon puppet army to assault the Great Desolation World’s Heaven-and-Earth Four Poles Grand Formation. 709 753 764 765

Luohu temporarily accepted the Heavenly Dao’s proposed alliance against Sanqing and the Twelve Ancestral Witches, while intending to exploit the Heavenly Dao before betraying it himself. During the ensuing Chaos conflict, he fought Ancestor Reincarnation and received direct Heavenly Dao Origin-force support. Although the Heavenly Dao was later sealed away, Luohu survived through another contingency hidden in a Universe World. 767 784 790 800

Personality

Luohu is ambitious, vindictive, and intensely prideful. He consistently regards the Great Desolation, the Heavenly Dao, Sanqing, and the Twelve Ancestral Witches as obstacles to be overcome rather than equals to be respected. His pursuit of revenge persists through repeated annihilations, losses of cultivation, and betrayals. 478 678 764

He is manipulative when advantageous, offering Jidu authority over Demon Tribulation and attempting to pressure Chaos and five other Hunyuan Celestial Venerables through old promises. When his persuasion fails, he readily considers killing them to erase his debt. 372

His experiences also make him cautious. After escaping the Heavenly Dao, he avoids exposing himself, declines to contest the Heart of Life while weak, and probes the Shichen Realm with slaves for several hundred Eons before acting. Nevertheless, success with powerful treasures repeatedly causes him to become overconfident and underestimate his enemies. 427 614 702

Luohu treats alliances as expedient tools rather than genuine commitments. Although he agreed to cooperate with the Heavenly Dao during his attack on the Great Desolation, he privately intended to use its power and turn against it once Sanqing and the Twelve Ancestral Witches had been weakened. 767

Luohu uses the Time Long River to alter events in a Universe World and target Sanqing’s incarnations.
