The Primordial Wilderness was opened by Pangu and possesses an exceptionally vast, complete Great Dao and strict laws. It contains the Thirty-Three Heavens, Netherworld, Four Seas, Eight Wastelands, countless cave-heavens, and innumerable living beings. Even ten thousand Perfect Universe Worlds would not equal one ten-thousandth of its scale. 548 679

After the Dragon-Phoenix-Qilin Calamity, the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans withdrew from the world. Their departure created an opening for Innate Deities to emerge across the Primordial Wilderness, claim Daoist arenas, and begin a new era of contention. 17 29

The world’s development is hindered by the rate at which chaotic qi is converted into Innate Spiritual Qi. When powerful cultivators become too numerous, the world can generate calamity qi to reduce their number and return spiritual qi to heaven and earth. Taiqing identifies solving this conversion problem as part of the Sanqing’s mission. 151

Houtu’s completion of the Underworld gave the Primordial Wilderness a functioning cycle of reincarnation. Countless beings sensed that the world had become more complete, while the awakening Heavenly Dao regarded the completed Underworld as a major disruption to its control. 277 278

The world later received a vast influx of Innate Spiritual Qi from the Five Elements Great World. Its mountains grew taller, its continents broadened, the Western Continent recovered from prior devastation, and attacks by peak Primordial Golden Immortal Demon God Remnants became comparatively insignificant to its strengthened body. 530

The completion of the Great Desolation Four Extremes Great Array further transformed the world. Chaos Qi was sealed outside its barrier, spatial nodes were reinforced, and even battles between Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals of the Origin could no longer destroy a continent. 724

During the Chaos Battlefield conflict, the Chaos Green Lotus completed its descent and triggered the Primordial Wilderness’s final ascension. Its rank-based and perfection-based fluctuations transformed the world’s laws and matter while destabilizing Chaos Beasts, other Chaos-based worlds, Luohu, and the remaining Heavenly Dao consciousness. 873 874
