Pre-war collapse and reunification

A century before the main story, Blue Star repeatedly sent telegrams into space, allowing aliens to obtain its coordinates and impose an unknown technological blockade. The resulting gap in power caused governments to despair, social order to collapse, and war to spread across the planet. 1

The war reduced Blue Star's population to one-third of its former total. Its surviving governments subsequently established the Blue Star United Government. 1

During the conflict, humanity discovered an underground alien ruin containing clues to psionic technology. The arrival of Subspace's Psionic Monsoon then began Blue Star's century-long period of Psionic Ascension. 1

Martial and psionic era

Blue Star's population has not recovered to its pre-war level; government support still allows some orphans to attend university free of charge. 1

Martial Artists became central to military service and planetary defense. Only Lower-Rank Martial Artists or stronger may enter the military, while the Space Force serves as the elite force prepared for alien attacks. 8 100

An alien fleet absorbed more than 100,000 stars in the Andromeda Galaxy over three years and was expected to reach the Solar System within ten years. 172

Taiwei Civilization invasion

The Taiwei Civilization classified Blue Star's inhabitants as carbon-based lifeforms and initially ordered its forces to capture a living High-Rank Martial Artist, destroy the planet's civilization, and seize the planet itself. 193

Its first vanguard attacked Blue Star's fortresses with near-light-speed white-dwarf-matter kinetic weapons. Psionic Users defended the planet through the Star Road network, though the attackers' spatial technology enabled them to capture a High-Rank Martial Artist. 194
