History

Historical accounts presented through the Senju and Uchiha stone tablets describe the Uchiha as descendants of Indra, the Sage of Six Paths' eldest son. The accounts further link the clan to the Senju through Indra and Ashura's brotherhood, though the reliability of the Uchiha Stone Tablet is later questioned due to Black Zetsu's interference. 203 356 207

At Konoha's founding, the Uchiha chose peace with the Senju rather than following Madara Uchiha when he left the village. Seisui later argues that this decision—and the clan's abandonment of its strongest leader—should have been sufficient proof of its loyalty to Konoha. 1

Tobirama Senju established the Konoha Military Police Force for the Uchiha, explicitly intending to contain the clan and dull its combat edge. The resulting isolation contributed to mistrust between the clan and village leadership, as well as a decline in the Uchiha's practical combat experience. 107 120

The clan became divided between a Dove Faction seeking coexistence with Konoha and a Hawk Faction led by Setsuna Uchiha, which favored confrontation with the village.
