Background
Huang Yelang was born into the Huang Family, an ancient Extraterritorial Lands clan that had remained secluded in mountains and blessed lands. His birth was accompanied by extraordinary phenomena: colorful divine figures reportedly appeared in the clouds, spiritual energy rose throughout the Huang Family’s territory, dead trees bloomed, and long-stagnant cultivators broke through. These events led many to call him a divine child born in harmony with the Great Dao. 273
He and Fire Phoenix entered the Tai Xu Sect together and became Zhao Changhe’s disciples. The Huang Family’s original purpose in sending him to the sect was to secure his baptism in the Dao Heaven Sacred Pool, which would strengthen his foundation for future cultivation. 422 458
As Holy Son, Huang Yelang cultivated an image of humility and refined restraint. Tai Xu Sect hall masters treated him as an equal despite their seniority, while disciples saw him as an untouchable legend and the sect’s future. 325 His recall by the Huang Family before the Mountain Kicking Tournament, however, exposed the limits of his attachment to the sect; he did not participate while Tai Xu Sect faced the Demon Clan. 390 420
Appearance
Huang Yelang is a handsome, refined young man with an otherworldly bearing. He is commonly surrounded by divine or immortal radiance that reinforces his reputation as a transcendent genius. 325 459
- Long black hair, with several loose strands falling across his brow. 325
- Eyes compared to starry rivers; later described as glowing with golden or violet divine light. 325 459
- A flickering star symbol between his eyebrows. 325
- Wore exquisite golden armor wreathed in pale immortal mist during his first appearance. 325
- Later appeared in purple robes, resembling a young immortal while confronting Xiao Chen. 459
Personality
Huang Yelang initially presents himself as gentle, humble, and approachable. He speaks modestly to elders, praises courage in weaker disciples, and maintains a warm smile even while occupying a position above nearly everyone in the Tai Xu Sect. 325
This demeanor is ultimately revealed as a façade. When his position as Holy Son, access to the Dao Heaven Sacred Pool, and claim over Fire Phoenix are threatened, he becomes cold, domineering, and openly contemptuous of others. He views emotional bonds as worthless worldly attachments and considers those beneath him to be ants. 423 458 459
His self-image rests on lifelong invincibility. Xiao Chen’s ability to resist and suppress him repeatedly cracks that confidence, driving Huang Yelang toward impatience, desperation, and near-collapse of his Dao heart. 749 764

Dual Cores
Huang Yelang is a rare Dual Core cultivator, a distinction that established his reputation as invincible among his generation. 328 747

True Immortal Descent
Huang Yelang’s greatest Secret Art draws upon the power of an ancient True Immortal. It is especially effective against demonic power, giving him a decisive advantage against Xiao Chen’s Ancient True Devil transformation. 361 472
- Temporarily raises his realm and combat power to King Realm and beyond. 470 751
- Can manifest an immortal hand, celestial sword light, and overwhelming immortal radiance. 753
- At an advanced level, lets him wield a portion of True Immortal power without fully activating the technique. 728
- The Heaven-Slaying Immortal-Extinguishing Art can suppress and damage the immortal power he borrows. 474 753
Ancient Immortal Avatar
When Xiao Chen’s Heaven-Slaying Immortal-Extinguishing Art threatened his True Immortal power, Huang Yelang summoned an Ancient Immortal Avatar as a trump card. 474
- The avatar manifests as a towering, white-robed immortal phantom with immense immortal might. 474
- It can wield the immortal’s complete Dao and fight in conjunction with Huang Yelang’s own power. 753
- Xiao Chen’s successive “Slay,” “Heaven,” and “Extinguish” characters injured the phantom despite its ability to recover. 754
Six-Colored Dao Fire
Huang Yelang condensed Six-Colored Dao Fire, an achievement regarded as nearly impossible by onlookers. 749 750
- Served as one of his major trump cards during his final battle with Xiao Chen. 749
- His confidence in this achievement was shaken when Xiao Chen revealed Eight-Colored Dao Fire. 750
Azure Star Bodyguard Art
An ancient defensive art that absorbs and stores the power of stars, forming a starlight barrier around Huang Yelang. 745
- The Azure Star Light Shield can withstand fierce attacks from cultivators of the same realm. 745
- Xiao Chen eventually shattered the shield through overwhelming physical power. 745
Martial Techniques
- Blood Demon Palm — A massive blood-colored palm technique with destructive offensive power. 749

Equipment
- Black Dragon City-Piercing Halberd — Ancient fierce weapon and Huang Yelang’s Martial Core; its killing power is close to that of the Eight Divine Weapons. 461 466
- Golden armor — Exquisite armor that emits faint golden light and is surrounded by pale immortal mist. 325
Relationships
- Xiao Chen — Rival for the Dao Heaven Sacred Pool and Fire Phoenix; Huang Yelang repeatedly attempts to kill him, but Xiao Chen becomes the first peer to seriously challenge his invincibility. 329 425 749
- Fire Phoenix — Fellow disciple and intended bride. Huang Yelang treats her as his possession and attempts to force the marriage despite her refusal. 325 451 728
- Zhao Changhe — Former master and Tai Xu Sect Leader. Huang Yelang’s respectful façade collapses when Zhao Changhe supports Xiao Chen over him. 458
- Huang Zhanxue — Grandfather who supports the Huang Family’s campaign against Xiao Chen and discusses Huang Yelang’s plans with him. 423 425
- Huang Yingxiong — Dragon-Riding Ancestor whose emergence restores Huang Yelang’s confidence; ultimately kills Huang Yelang in an attempt to appease Hong Chidao. 761 771
- Huang Yingying — Younger sister and a Huang Family prodigy. 539
- Huang Rilang — Cousin who resents being compared to Huang Yelang and wants to escape his shadow. 587 588
- Huo Wanjie — Fire Phoenix’s uncle, who pretends to treat Huang Yelang like a son before abandoning and defeating him once the Huang Family loses power. 770 771
Story Role / Major Arcs
Dao Heaven Sacred Pool Rivalry
Xiao Chen’s Ten Thousand Calamities Curse forces him to seek entry to the Dao Heaven Sacred Pool, placing him in direct competition with Huang Yelang. Huang Yelang accepts the prospect of a challenge because Xiao Chen is one of the few peers willing to face him without fear. 329
Fall of the Gentle Holy Son
After the Tai Xu Sect considers replacing Huang Yelang with Xiao Chen as Holy Son and granting Xiao Chen the Sacred Pool qualification, Huang Yelang abandons his benevolent persona. He aligns openly with Huang Zhanxue and the Huang Family’s assault on Tai Xu Sect, declaring that he has no need for a “heart.” 423 458
First Battle with Xiao Chen
Huang Yelang confronts Xiao Chen at Tai Xu Sect and initially allows him three moves. Xiao Chen breaks his protective Xuan light and forces him to reveal the Black Dragon City-Piercing Halberd, his Dual Cores, True Immortal Descent, and Ancient Immortal Avatar. 459 460 466 474
Although Huang Yelang believes Xiao Chen cannot reach the Grandmaster Realm within a year, he agrees to another competition for the qualification to enter the Dao Heaven Sacred Pool. 477
Forced Marriage to Fire Phoenix
Huang Yelang attempts to force Fire Phoenix into marriage, openly treating her as a political possession and becoming enraged over her connection to Xiao Chen. He breaks the Huang Family’s agreement to give Xiao Chen time and attacks him before Qiongqi’s intervention forces his retreat. 728 729
Final Confrontation and Collapse
With Huang Yingxiong’s return, Huang Yelang becomes emboldened enough to humiliate Xiao Chen’s allies, severely injuring Xu Potian and Thunderclap, overpowering Wu Qinglong, and killing Ba Ge and Houzi. 741 742 743
His decisive battle with Xiao Chen overturns his status as an untouchable prodigy. Xiao Chen matches him physically, suppresses his Dual Cores, reveals superior Dao Fire, and repeatedly damages the power of his True Immortal Descent. 746 749 750 753
As Xiao Chen’s allies and backers gather against the Huang Family, Huang Yelang’s Dao heart nearly shatters. After Huang Yingxiong is defeated and exposed as the “Serpent-Riding Ancestor,” Huo Wanjie abandons Huang Yelang and defeats him. Huang Yingxiong then kills Huang Yelang in a futile attempt to save the Huang Family. 764 770 771
