Background / History
The Soul Clan's foundations come from Dou Di ancestors, as do those of the other ancient clans. Despite those inherited advantages, their later experts have been unable to reach Dou Di. Hun Tiandi consequently spends a thousand years preparing his plan to obtain the ancient jades and open the ancient cave dwelling 43 174.
A thousand years earlier, Xiao Xuan absorbed the Xiao Clan's Dou Di bloodline in a desperate breakthrough attempt. After his failure, the Soul Clan hunted him down and killed him. Both clans suffered heavily, and the weakened Soul Clan sealed the Hun Realm and withdrew from worldly affairs. Other ancient clans subsequently exploited the Xiao Clan's decline, with the Gu Clan becoming the greatest beneficiary 44.
The Gu and Soul Clans then became enduring rivals. Their patriarchs were both late-stage Nine-Star Dou Saints, and each clan regarded the other as its greatest obstacle to unifying the continent. Although they initially avoided full-scale war, smaller clashes continued 44.
Organization and Members
Hun Tiandi's authority is absolute within the clan. Even Six-Star Dou Saints fear the consequences of displeasing him, and the position of future clan leader remains subject to his decision 46 123 195.

| Hun Feng | Young Clan Leader; later competes with Hun Yu for succession | God Grade Bloodline; Two-Star Dou Saint during the demon-flame expedition 139 195 |

| Four Demon Saints | Senior combatants: Hun Tu, Hun Sha, Hun Jing, and Hun Yan | Seven-Star Dou Saints 180 |
| Hall of Souls Deputy Hall Master | Oversees the Earth Hall targeted by Jiang Xing | Three-Star Dou Saint; killed and deprived of his sub-flame 157 158 |
Succession
- Hun Feng initially holds the Young Clan Leader position, but Hun Tiandi opens the succession to competition 195.
- Hun Feng and Hun Yu are given fifty years: whichever first reaches Seven-Star Dou Saint will become the next clan leader 195.
- Both possess God Grade Bloodlines. Hun Yu welcomes the opportunity, while Hun Feng resents having to compete for a position he considered his own 195.
Abilities & Methods
Soul Collection
- The Hall of Souls gathers souls for the Soul Clan, with Dou Zun experts stationed in its branch halls 42.
- Collected souls follow a strict submission process and supply Nihility Devouring Flame, whose demand increases as the Millennium Plan progresses 159.
- Losing the Earth Hall's entire soul stock threatens Hun Miesheng with severe punishment 158 159.
Tunling Clan's Methods
- Nihility Devouring Flame summons black-flame creatures capable of devouring ancient-clan descendants. During the first Yao Clan invasion, they consume nearly five hundred thousand descendants 166.
- Captured descendants are subsequently used to increase Soul Clan experts' strength 174.
- Exposure of this ability makes the surviving ancient clans view the Soul Clan as an immediate threat and helps unite them against it 167 168.
- After defeating the Gu, Yan, and Lei Clans, Nihility Devouring Flame collects their blood for further strengthening 200.
Gates of Oblivion
- A major killing weapon designed to trap enemies and prevent their escape 187.
- Hun Tiandi intends to lure the Gu, Yan, and Lei Clans' experts into it and eliminate them together 173 195.
- The Four Elders initially construct the formation in the Burial Sky Mountain Range. Hun Tiandi later orders it moved to the Du Jian Mountain Range, the site of a planned hostage exchange 194 195.
- Construction requires years of preparation rather than immediate deployment 187.
Heavenly Net Sealing Demon Formation
- Hun Miesheng deploys the formation against the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame after seven Four-Star Dou Saint combatants weaken it 145.
- Powered by their combined Dou Qi, it compresses the flame into a milky-white form less than ten feet in size 145.
- Hun Miesheng then attempts to take the sealed flame, turning the other clans against the Soul Clan 145.
Ancestral Remnant Souls
- Like other Dou God Clans, the Soul Clan can summon its Progenitor's remnant soul within its own territory 180.
- Hun Tiandi uses experience with his own clan's Progenitor and destroyed clans' defenses to estimate the ancestral forces his army will face 180.
Concealment and Infiltration
- Layered barriers conceal the Spirit Clan's destruction from the outside world 124.
- Relocating the Hun Realm prevents the Four-Clan Alliance from finding the clan's headquarters 168.
- Spies operate within the Gu, Yan, and Lei Clans. Some survive investigations following the jade thefts and continue reporting secret negotiations to Hun Tiandi 194.
- Members conceal cultivation levels to gain advantages: Hun Miesheng hides his Five-Star strength, while Hun Xuzi suppresses his Seven-Star strength before the Medicine Ceremony attack 139 145 164.
Relationships
- Gu Clan — Principal rival for continental supremacy and the ancient jades; eventually destroyed alongside its allies 44 46 200.
- Xiao Clan — Historical enemy. The Soul Clan kills Xiao Xuan; Hun Miesheng later orders the massacre of the Wutan City clan and Xiao Zhan's abduction to obtain its jade 43 44.
- Spirit Clan — Secretly exterminated by Nihility Devouring Flame, with barriers concealing the event 124.
- Stone Clan — Targeted after the Spirit Clan and subsequently destroyed, a violation later attributed to the Soul Clan 123 155 167.
- Yao Clan — Targeted for its jade, descendants, and alchemical services; survives the first invasion but is destroyed by a later blitz attack 164 166 172.
- Yan and Lei Clans — Join the anti-Soul Clan alliances and are ultimately annihilated 168 200.
- Jiang Xing and Zi Yan — Temporary hired allies whose betrayal enrages the Soul Clan. Jiang Xing later uses deterrence and concealed schemes to delay and redirect its plans 179 186 192 201.
- Ancient Void Dragon Clan — Its connection to Jiang Xing restrains Soul Clan retaliation. Jiang Xing's Nine-Star breakthrough forces Hun Tiandi to reassess it as a competing power 153 192.
- Pill Tower — Old Demon Hun threatens to slaughter it when its Grand Elder opposes the Soul Clan's attempt to seize the demon flame 147.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Xiao Clan Jade Dispute
Hun Tiandi orders Hun Miesheng to obtain the Xiao Clan's jade. After the Hall of Souls captures Xiao Yan, Gu Clan representatives intervene, but Hun Miesheng escapes and Xiao Yan's corpse is discovered inside the hall 43 45.
The resulting dispute becomes a mutual misidentification: the Gu Clan believes the Soul Clan has the jade, while the Soul Clan suspects the Gu Clan took it and framed them. Jiang Xing benefits because neither side suspects him 46 47.
Bodhi Ancient Tree Expedition
- Hun Yu's team breaks away from the alliance during the Beast Tide, then rejoins the survivors near the Bodhi Ancient Tree and assumes the lead 109.
- Hun Tiandi sends Hun Ye despite inter-clan restrictions, intending to seize the Bodhi Heart and Seeds even if another clan obtains them first 118.
- Hun Ye confronts Jiang Cheng and Jiang Xing but ultimately returns without a single Bodhi Seed. Hun Tiandi abandons further pursuit amid Gu Clan and Ancient Void Dragon involvement 119 123.
Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame
- The Soul Clan prioritizes preventing other Dou God Clans from obtaining the flame over settling its grievance with Jiang Xing 140.
- Hun Miesheng attempts to monopolize the sealed flame and reveals his concealed Five-Star cultivation when challenged 145.
- Old Demon Hun's arrival confirms that the clan prepared additional high-level support, despite the Ancient Races Pact 146.
Earth Hall Raid and First Yao Clan Invasion
Jiang Xing disguises himself, uses the Gu Clan's Emperor Imprint Skill, kills the Earth Hall's Deputy Hall Master, and steals its souls and sub-flame. He leaves a witness to implicate the Gu Clan. Hun Tiandi decides to exploit the apparent pact violation while preparing the attack on the Yao Clan 157 158 159.
Jiang Xing then anonymously warns the Yao Clan. Yao Dan invites Yan Jin and Lei Ying, whose presence prevents the Soul Clan from completing the extermination. Nihility Devouring Flame covers the retreat using Tunling methods, exposing a secret that prompts the Four-Clan Alliance's formation 161 162 166 168.
Hun Tiandi seals and relocates the Hun Realm and recalls Hun Miesheng. The alliance's attack on the Hall of Souls finds only a few insignificant personnel remaining 168.
Yao Clan Blitz and War Against the Three Clans
- After the alliance disperses much of its strength, Hun Tiandi personally leads a surprise attack that destroys the Yao Clan with almost no losses 172.
- The four Eight-Star elders appear openly, shocking opponents who believed Hun Yuantian and Hun Shengtian had died fighting Xiao Xuan 172.
- While rival reinforcements leave their territories, Soul Clan operatives attempt to steal their ancient jades. Hun Tiandi later discovers his collection is incomplete and that Gu Yuan retained his own jade 173 174.
- The clan hires Jiang Xing and Zi Yan with Heavenly Flames and medicinal pills, paying half in advance and withholding the remainder until they contribute 179.
- The ensuing invasion is forced into retreat by costly self-destruct attacks. Hun Tu, Hun Jing, and Hun Yan die, and Hun Xuzi is injured 185.
- Despite anger at Jiang Xing and Zi Yan's betrayal, Hun Tiandi postpones retaliation and resumes preparations for the Gates of Oblivion 186 187.
Final Victory and the Ancient Mansion
Jiang Xing publicizes his Nine-Star Dou Saint breakthrough to restrain the Soul Clan, then uses a future hostage exchange to influence its battlefield preparations. Hun Tiandi responds by relocating the Gates of Oblivion 192 194 195.
In the final conflict, the Soul Clan annihilates the Gu, Yan, and Lei Clans at remarkably low cost. Jiang Xing secretly plants an ancient jade through a Dou Zun puppet, enabling Hun Tiandi to complete the eight-piece collection 200.
The assembled jades reveal the cave mansion's location at Jia Nan Academy. The Soul Clan locates the entrance and enters behind Nihility Devouring Flame. Jiang Xing deliberately waits outside, intending to let Nihility Devouring Flame deal with the Emperor Pill Embryo before his own faction intervenes 200 201.
