Background / History
Following the Lich Tribulation, Haotian and Yaochi governed a newly established Heavenly Court with a shallow foundation and limited authority. Its formal center was Lingxiao Palace, from which the Jade Emperor and Queen Mother sought to rule the Three Realms. 12 13
Ling Xiao's appointment as Great Emperor of the Azure Radiance marked a turning point. Dao Ancestor Hongjun granted him the Heavenly Investiture List and the God-Slaying Whip, while Haotian and Yaochi delegated the unfilled sovereigns' duties to him during the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation. 13
The court steadily expanded its foundation by accepting the Dragon Clan, Tu Shan Fox Clan, Witch Clan representatives, Ancestor Kunpeng, Bai Ze, and later Demon Lord Jidu. Its rivalry with the re-established Demon Court ended with the Heavenly Court gaining decisive influence over the Great Desolate Continent and Primordial Starry Sky. 47 93 143 144 406 643
By the Imperial Decree Conferral Ceremony, the Heavenly Court was publicly recognized as the effective sovereign of the Primordial Chaos and Three Realms. The subsequent Investiture of the Gods Ceremony filled major divine offices, and Haotian later attained Sagehood through destiny. 472 625 637
