Background / History

Bei Chenguang emerged during the Abyssal Demon crisis as a Son of Destiny whose parents had died and who had survived life in a human breeding farm. These experiences left him deeply resentful toward Grandmasters and the protagonist, whom he associated with humanity’s failure to protect ordinary people. He was discovered at a Demon Hunter Association secret base in Daqing year 312. 89

Yun Qi identified him as the figure capable of opposing the Abyssal Demon and covertly arranged resources, missions, and public favoritism around him. The scheme isolated Bei Chenguang from his peers while accelerating his rise through the Demon Hunter Association. 90

After becoming a Great Grandmaster, Bei Chenguang entered the Holy King’s Palace, where Yun Qi defeated him and presented him with the Blood Demon Armor and Sword. Yun Qi then manipulated him into stabbing him as supposed repayment for past grievances, turning Bei Chenguang’s hostility into loyalty. 91

Bei Chenguang’s battle against the Abyssal Demon took him from the Holy King’s Palace toward the Ascension Passage in the East Sea. Sustained by his armor and increasing Vital Energy density near the crystal walls, he fought a prolonged retreat, eventually reached the Upper Realm, and continued his pursuit there. 92

He later became Yun Shou’s adopted son and trained at the Innate Camp. He repeatedly advanced beyond his earlier limits, eventually becoming a True Immortal and returning from the Ancient Immortal Secret Realm with a seventy-two-Dao-Seal Dao Fruit. 134 137 208 488

Personality

Bei Chenguang is proud, gifted, and initially distrustful of authority. His childhood losses made him especially hostile toward those he believed had abandoned humanity during the demon catastrophe. 89 90

He is strongly protective of his home, younger sister, and later Jiang Yueli. His determination to resurrect Jiang Yueli after her death became a central motive for his pursuit of greater power. 92 611

Despite his rapid rise and periods of revenge-driven violence, he can be candid with Yun Shou and accepts guidance when he recognizes its necessity. After Yun Shou intervened following the crippling of one of his life bodies, Bei Chenguang became more composed. 371 435

After Jiang Yueli is killed, Bei Chenguang becomes determined to reach a level capable of resurrecting her. He increases his strength, seeks a way beyond the Yuan Tian Realm, and continues condensing Dao Seals. 611 612

As a True Immortal, he defeats the last Calamity Beast leader in hopes of breaking the stalemate and finding Jiang Yueli. This leads to his sealing by the Five Great Ancient Immortals, a period of qi deviation, and eventual reawakening with renewed hope. 683 684
